JT called me up a few months ago and asked me to roll up to Milwaukee with him and the band. The goal was to get some shots of the band, both on and off the stage. We had gotten a little behind schedule on the 18hr drive from Dallas, so we couldn’t stop to set up any shots. When we arrived, it was straight to work and the guys played 3 gigs in 1 day. We were all pretty wiped out on the way home and the sun started setting as we hit Oklahoma. As I looked out the window across the hay fields, it became deeply obvious that the moment had arrived. I made JT turn down some random dirt road in rural Oklahoma. We all got out and started walking down the road and into a few of the fields. We dipped in and out of the sunlight as I burned off 2 rolls of film and about 50 frames w the D800. We loaded back up and burned the midnight oil all the way back to Dallas. 3 day trip… 36hrs spent in the van… When I got home, I was stoked to find that almost every shot I took was a keeper.
Sometimes, everything falls into it’s right place and time.
