If you think about it: Robert probably used to have an ass before the coma
In the event that he did, he probably feels so uncomfortable. Not with, like, his ass (lack thereof) but his body in general.
The way he sits or stands up is too easy for someone like him who usually takes a slower time. He also doesn’t have to squeeze in between people to move when he use to be able to shove people. And it’s weird to know Invisigal stared at his ass when he knows that there’s nothing there. Sitting on a chair all day long is taxing, sure, but if this was before his coma it wouldn’t hurt that much.
Robert probably had to bite his tongue when Flambae said ‘get your flat ass off my bench’ because he wants to say he doesn’t have a flat ass but he does right now. And it’s killing him. Well, it’s a mix of injuries and lack of sufficient nutrition that’s the problem.
If the Z team ever saw a picture of Robert pre-coma they’d lose their minds at the weight he had. I don’t think he was eating any healthier but he was probably eating more (like constant takeouts and cheap microwaveable meals but at least he was eating). He had muscles, sure, but there was also some weight to it. Like fat. Healthy fat.
They’d also want to stuff this man with food (or other things, gotta be some nutritious value to those type of body fluids, right?) and is not taking no as an answer from Robert. They just want to see him healthy and not dying, okay? Thats all there is to it. Nothing more. Certainly not to stare at his arms and stomach when he does inevitably gain weight again.
I don’t get random thoughts like this often but this was nice, thanks.
Wait can we get a part 2 on your friends with benefits to lovers pipeline Flambert posts? 👀👀
Don’t be mad but I’ve had this in my folder for like a month and I’ve never posted it. Honestly, every time I think about it I end up forgetting to do it.
It’s a bit rough but I suppose if you just want the conclusion I got it for you. Happy Ending, of course cause I’m not a monster :)
Pt. 1 here
It’s a mistake.
Robert knew it the moment his lips met Chad’s. Knew it the moment his tongue tasted whiskey. And he especially knew it when his hands went up from his neck to his hair, gripping the soft strands tightly. He tilts his head, kissing him deeper. Robert melts when Chad wraps his arms around his waist, pulling him closer.
It’s a mistake.
Robert pulled back almost immediately. His resolve almost weakened at Chad chasing his lips but he held fast, stepping away from the man with an agonized expression. “We can’t.” He whispered, the words sour in his mouth.
Chad froze. “What.”
“We’re breaking rules, Chad. And the rules were placed there for a reason. We put them for a reason. We can’t break all the rules!” Robert blurted. He clenched his fists, his chest rose faster with each sentence.
Chad swallowed and Robert watched his throat bob. “We’re only breaking one.” He says.
“I broke another.” Robert mumbled.
Chad squinted at him. “What?”
“I broke another.” Robert said, firmly.
Chad choked. “The fuck?” Instantly, his face changed. He pulled back, his eyes glaring at Robert and his jaw clenched. “Who the fuck did you tell?”
“I fucking wish I broke that one.” Robert snorts humorlessly. Maybe it would be better on his mind if he told someone.
Before Chad could respond, Robert turned away. He passed by a few Z team members and told them goodbye, much to their dismay, before rushing out the door.
He’d never felt so stupid in his life. Why did he have to say that? Couldn’t he keep his mouth shut for a little while? Of course not.
Still, Robert couldn’t find it in himself to regret it. Even if it ruined his prospects with Chad, even if the flaming hero told the whole team, or made fun of him come tomorrow, Robert wouldn’t regret getting it off his chest.
The Monday Robert comes back to work is quiet.
It’s not the Z team, they’re as loud and boisterous as ever. When Robert slides his headphones on there’s no mention of the bar last night or of Robert’s pathetic feelings so he can be assured on the fact that Chad kept quiet about that.
Speaking of the man, he doesn’t say much to Robert. Barely says more than a few words regarding the missions Robert dispatches him on. The team picks up on it and tries to tease him but he doesn’t respond.
When lunch comes around, Robert opts out of eating in the break room with Herman and instead takes Beef for a lunch as an excuse to be elsewhere. Chase comes with him, though, ever so reluctant to part from the dog so the two end up sitting down at the Panera’s across the street.
The unusual silence continues into second shift. Alice says he’s just having an off day but, just as Robert dreaded, it turns out to be an off week.
Days of this weird tension between them persists.
Robert continues eating outside the break room and avoiding Chad. He doesn’t go to the gym at the same time as him, doesn’t go to the break room, uses the locker room before Chad, and practically runs whenever he spots a ponytail. If Chad hadn’t noticed Robert avoiding him before, he’s definitely noticing now.
It’s not like Robert can avoid him in the office for long. Him running around to get away from Chad means also getting away from Herman and he’s still helping the kid get used to things around here. Herman’s a grown man, sure, but that’s not going to stop the protective feeling Robert gets in his chest about him.
Which means when Friday rolls around, Robert gets up and goes into the break room. No matter how embarrassed he is, he won’t allow himself to be a pussy about it any longer.
Mal and Victor are in front of the microwave, talking while they wait for Victor’s rat to heat up. Courtney’s leaning against the vending machine eating a burrito. Herman and Alice are sitting at the table with Katon-Ur across from them. Janelle and Colm are standing off to the side, eating their own home-cooked meals, one a bit more bloodier than the other’s.
The only one missing (outside from Golem who ate outside) is Chad.
Robert doesn’t let himself relax but he does feel better as he walks over to the vending machine. “Came crawling back didn’t you?” Courtney said.
“Couldn’t stop myself.” Robert shrugged as he pulled out a five dollar bill from his pocket. He slipped it into the machine and pushed in the buttons for a Twinkie.
Courtney hummed. “So, what were you running from?”
“Your mom. Move.” Robert nudged her leg away from the small opening his Twinkie would pop out of.
Courtney scoffed. “Fuck off, she’s dead.”
“So’s mine. Whoopty doo.” Robert deadpanned.
Courtney rolled her eyes and finished off the last of her burrito. “You think you’re bullshitting me but I know what the fuck I’m talking about.” She insisted, narrowing her eyes at Robert.
“Do you?” Robert called her bluff, raising an eyebrow at her.
Courtney’s eyes faltered slightly and it was enough for Robert to turn away. Only for him to get shoved face first into a chest. An open hairy chest.
Ah. He knew he couldn’t get relaxed.
Taking a step back, Robert took a deep breath as he acknowledged Chad. “Good shift.” He said. He tried to step to the side but Chad followed, blocking his path.
Figuring they were going the same way, Robert tried the other side only for Chad to follow again. “Uh—excuse me.” He said.
“No, bitch.” Chad snarls. “You’re not going anywhere until we fucking talk.”
Robert couldn’t think of anything less appealing. Beside him, Courtney’s voice reached his ear. “I can see why’d you run from that.” She whispered. Robert couldn’t even comment.
“Look, can we do this somewhere else?” Robert asked, giving Chad an almost pleading look.
Chad doesn’t budge. “Are you going to run if we go somewhere else?”
“No.” Robert lies.
Chad gives him a flat look. “Try the fuck again.”
“Fine. Fine.” Robert relents. “We can talk at my place, just not at work.”
Chad grins smugly. “See you after work, bitch.” He walks past Robert, shoving his shoulder as he walked towards Alice.
Robert doesn’t look at anyone’s reaction as he leaves the break room.
When the day’s over, Robert doesn’t get much time after his shower before there’s banging on his door.
He tugs his head through his shirt as he goes to open the door before Chad can bang it open. “You’re gonna piss off my neighbors.” Robert chides.
“I don’t give a fuck about those nobodies.” Chad says as he walks in Robert’s apartment.
Robert sighs and closes the door behind him. He leans against the door and crosses his arms over his chest. “Well, you wanted to talk, right? Talk.” He gestured at the man.
“Fuck—okay.” Chad floundered, not expecting to be put on the spot. “Let’s just get rid of the rules.”
Robert straightens. “What?”
“Fuck ‘em. Okay? Forget about them. Just—come back to me.” Chad’s eyebrows furrow, pleading at Robert. “Stop scurrying off when you see me, stop avoiding me. Let’s just go back to what we were doing before.”
Was that what Robert wanted? In a way, sure. He used to want what they had before. But it feels meaningless now when he knows that he wants more.
“No.” Robert says.
Hurt flashes in Chad’s eyes before he can mask it quick enough. “Okay.”
“I don’t want us to go back to before unless we’re doing more.” Robert tells him. “I want breakfast and coffee runs, dinners with you, and more. I want lunch with you. I want to watch films with you. Go on dates! Get to kiss you without worrying about mistakes! I want you!” Robert huffs as he finishes his rant, panting.
Chad looks down at the ground for a moment, taking in Robert’s words. When he lifts his head, there’s a grimace on his face. “I don’t do relationships.” He starts. Robert can feel his heart sink into his stomach. “I don’t have a good history of them. I tend to fuck up. Go off the rails or whatever. Too much to deal with.”
Robert wants to protest but Chad’s already continuing, his cheeks flushed bur his eyes set on Robert with determination, “Still. I want to…I want one with you. So if you haven’t changed your mind yet. We can do that. The things you said.”
“Okay.” Robert said. Slowly, a grin overtakes his face.
Chad takes a few steps forward. “Are we done arguing now?” He asks.
“Yeah,” Robert chuckles.
Chad smiles. He takes Robert’s chin and tilts it up at him before giving him a chaste kiss. It’s not much but after their talk it’s enough to make Robert melt into it. When Chad pulls away, he leaves a small kiss on his cheek and Robert honest to God lets out a giggle. A giggle.
“Fuck.” Chad whispers before peppering kisses on his face. “You’re a fucking grown man, why are you cute?”
Childhood friends au. Buckle up, love. This one is a bit long.
I fully believe that Robert was a feral child. In the sense that he did a lot of stupid teenage shit to get his dad’s attention like get into fights, stay out late, vandalism, parties, maybe small tattoos and piercings idk. Point is, he was a feral child.
Now, we don’t get much insight on a lot of the z team’s backgrounds but it’s not too out of the loop to think that a few of them got bullied for their powers or had tough home lives, right?
The first au (It will be temporarily named: other titles are welcomed)
‘The Bathroom Nurse’ au
Robert trying to mind his business and blast emo music in his ears but as he’s walking he catches sight of three guys jumping some other teenagwe and he’s like ‘dude, what the fuck?’ So he goes over and asks them why they’re jumping and these guys are just like, ‘mind your business, fucker. It’s cause we want to. Leave or you’ll end up like them.’ So now Robert’s pissed.
He beats them up, barely breaks a sweat (his dad hits him harder during training than these guys can) and he looks at the kid and is like, ‘Do you need help getting to the nurse?’ And the teenager is just frozen. Because no one has ever helped them. They just ignore it. Turn their eyes away.
Robert ends up not taking them to the nurse but instead the bathroom to heal them up nicely while the other silently questions why this guy just regularly carries round a first aid kit,
This teenager can be any z team member you want. (Although maybe not Mal, Phenomoman, or Golem). And also maybe not Coupe because she’d know how to fight by then since she was in the mafia.
The second au: titled:
The Breakfast Club
(but it’s an actual club)’ or just Afterschool Club
Robert being nagged at by his counselor who’s genuinely worried for this boy. He has relatively good grades (as much as one can for skipping class a lot even if the work gets done and the test scores are high) and is a good kid (outside of the fights he gets into but to be fair the people he fights are always bullies).
So the counselor puts him in a club with a bunch of other delinquent kids. And their job is to find a hobby or something that will help them manage their emotions better while also providing food and supplies to the teens who need it but are too embarrassed to publicly ask for it.
The club is run by student body president, Mandy, who’s been trying to wrangle the z team into taking it seriously for the longest but it’s no use.
Robert joins and after introductions just sits by himself. He doesn’t talk to the others, although he will say a few words to Mandy but that’s it. He sits himself in the back.
At first, the z team leave him alone. They make a few jokes, especially after hearing his name, but they don’t trust the guy and they don’t necessarily know the guy enough to like him.
But what intrigues them is that Robert always has something new to bring in the club. It’s what his mandated therapist (who he rarely interacts with during their sessions because he’s so stubborn in his way of thinking that what he goes through as a hero’s kid is normal) wants him to do. Find a hobby.
One day, he pulls out a coloring book. Courtney is quick to make kid jokes until Robert slides her a sheet from his book and silently offers some of his color pencils. She tries to act all cool as she ‘reluctantly’ sits down to color. She hasn’t colored since elementary and finds herself shocked at how nice it felt to just sit and color.
For a girl who boasts about being sneaky, it’s laughable how she didn’t notice him sliding the coloring book in her bag once the club hours ends. They don’t speak about it but Robert finds a new pack of colored pencils (definitely stolen they still have the tag) a few days later.
One day Robert brings in papers to fold into origami. Janelle finds herself fascinated by the way Robert skillfully folds the papers and demands to be taught. Robert instructs her with soft spoken words and gentle hands that make her swallow down the instinct to turn away and curl up her wings. She improves rather quickly but Robert secretly keeps her earlier janky attempts and doesn’t question the sharp blade wrapped with a bow that pops up on his desk.
The next thing Robert brings is a kit of beads and string for bracelets that he bought off Amazon (he wants to make a bracelet for Chase). It’s Alice who finds herself curious. Robert doesn’t tell her off for poking at the beads so she it’s down and plays around with them. And it’s fun. It’s a mindless tsk, making bracelets, but Alice branches out and makes necklaces, anklets, and waist beads. She mixes colors but rarely strays from her classic pink and blue pattern. She makes necklaces for Chad so they can match but silently leaves a bracelet on the table for Robert.
Then comes drawing. He brings canvases and oil paints. Alice gets fed up with Chad hovering around Robert and tells him to just man up and ask. So Chad walks up and gets all up in his business about what he’s doing, demanding with his questions and flustered about his own inability to properly ask. Robert doesn’t seem fazed. He just lets Chad have a canvas and tells him to be careful with the oil paints. Chad draws blank at what to create at first. But then he remembers the anger he’s felt, has become so familiar with, at the changes in his life that he’s going through and he lets his hands roam the canvas. And when he’s finished, he’s uncertain if what he created was good but it felt good to make so he takes pride in it.
He leaves Robert a small sticky note with a sketch of what seems to be Robert on his bag. He refuses to make eye contact with Robert the next time they see each other so Robert just drops it.
His next move is to bring a chess game. This time, for the first time, Robert tells the z team that if they’re interested they’re open to play (instead of just sitting back while the z team comes up to him) and Victor jumps at the chance. He sits down across from Robert and plays with him. It’s clear that Robert is a rookie so Victor offers some tips the more games they play. He doesn’t even realize the club hours are over until Mal has to physically drag him away from the table. The next time they see each other, Victor tosses him a chess piece that has been painted blue and had tiny fang marks carved into his initials.
Then comes puzzles. Robert brings a puzzle so large it takes up his whole table. Colm, to the surprise of many z team members, joins him. Says that he loves solving puzzles and it’s one of the few things him and his mother do when they have time together. Colm can be fast in deciding which piece goes where in a way that makes Robert wonder if he should just leave the puzzle to Colm. It’s clearly not up his speed so he lets Colm have the box. Colm gives Robert glued together puzzle of a dog and is shocked at the bright smile that takes over Robert’s face when he looks at the dog.
Puzzle might not be in but stories might. The z team is a bit disappointed to see Robert just bring a notebook. Mal asks if he’s journaling, because that’s what her therapist is always recommending and she hates it, and Robert tells her he’s trying to think of a story to write. He tells her the prompt and that he can’t make sense of what to do with it. Mal gets a few ideas and starts listing a few story ideas until it turns to her rambling and going on and on about a particular story idea her brain comes up with for the prompt. Robert decides to let her use his journal to write it down. Janelle pops up to ask a few questions about her story that prompts Mal to write more. The two end up sitting together, going back and forth with ideas.
Robert puts the day behind his mind until a week later, Mal and Janelle drop off the journal but it’s a novel that’s full of characters and has explicit dialogue, terrible descriptions, and weird plot lines (they’re teens, of course they don’t know how to write) but Robert rereads the story almost every night.
The last thing Robert brings is a bigger book for scrapbooking. He’s not the most enthusiastic about this one but he tries it nonetheless. Bruno is the one to help him. There aren’t a lot of hobbies that Bruno can do with his big hands so he just chills and listens to music but Robert makes scrapbooking look easy and he wants to try it. Sure, the glue is a bit frustrating to work with but it’s nice to do an activity that he can’t mess up. Robert helps him adjust the pictures and objects he glues down on the pages to make sure they’re straight. He lets Bruno keep his page from the scrapbook.
He smiles at the page Bruno gives him next time. A page full of images of dogs, blue scrap papers, images of the bands he listens to, one joking image of a Twinkie, and a dried lavender heather flower. He keeps the page with all his other items that he received from the z team in his room, locked up so his father doesn’t see and make him throw it out.
Robert’s at his wits end, though. He’s followed his therapists advice and tried all these hobbies but none of them worked out for him. When Robert comes in with nothing, the z team are confused and a bit concerned (not that they’ll admit it). Robert tells them that he’s out of hobbies to try and so now the z team take it upon themselves to help Robert find a hobby for him after he’s unintentionally helped them find a hobby.
It takes a while to convince Mandy to let them bring the club activities outside but she’s definitely on board with their plan she just keeps a close eye on them while they’re out.
I’ve never thought of how this au would end so I’m sorry that it’s unfinished.
(Couple of things: it’s not mentioned but yes the z team has powers, this is the og z team so no waterboy or Phenomaman mention but he is Mandy’s boyfriend, Lavender heather flowers mean admiration and solitude). Not mentioned but yes the z team does grow closer through this.
Questions, comments, or concerns (or all three) are welcomed. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
if breakfast club/childhood friends au is still the canon superhero world, what happens when robbie dies? (i think robert is supposed to be about 16/17?) do you think robert finishes school or just disappears to become mecha man? would anyone figure out who robbie was because of robert's disappearance or the sudden absence of phone calls?
Robert just disappears. For both aus the z team figures out who Robbie is and who Robert is about to be—Mecha Man—through the funerals
There’s two funerals for him to attend. One for Mecha Man and one for Robbie Robertson. He attends both of them with Chase but after the second funeral, he goes ghost.
He stops picking up calls from his friends, drops out of highschool, doesn’t continue his sessions with his therapist, he pushes everyone away.
Robert would even go as far as selling his old man’s house and getting a smaller studio just to help further pay for the repairs of the suit and ensure no one could get to him.
Now, this could end one or two ways.
A) Forced to Stop Being an Idiot
The z team get a hold of him thanks to a combination of efforts (Mal, Courtney, and Alice) and find out where Robert is hiding.
They practically burst into his studio and kidnap him. All while berating and threatening him for what he did. Robert feels guilty but not enough to regret his actions, just regret the way it made his team feel.
The z team looks out for Robert as Robert becomes a hero. It’s a bit odd considering this is a group of delinquents. But they change their tune after months spent with Robert. This is what makes them become heroes much younger.
But it’s still hard becoming a paid hero without some kind of connection in the world. So, Robert uses Mecha Man (title) to get them deals and stuff until they get contracted by SDN. And the z team celebrates with drinks.
The end. (Lovely ending, yeah?)
B) Road to Canon
Robert was successful in driving off the others. And while it’s depressing, there’s a sick part of him that feels vindicated about it. Like it can finally gloat that not everyone stays around. Even those that promise.
He still becomes a hero, much of what’s canon happens here. He does fifteen years of hero work, looks for Shroud clues, still gets blown up but Courtney is even more guilty because she knew who Mecha Man was (the whole team did) from the start.
When Blazer shows him the team, Robert can’t help but feel a sense of pride. Proud that these guys are heroes, even with the criminal background he’s staring at. Robert knows that a lot of them went into villainy because it was what society pushed them into, what they only knew how to do, or what they did to survive. So, he’s proud of them. He’s not sure he’s allowed to be.
Introducing himself on the comms means less laughs and more gasps and screams of shock.
The second that the lunch shift hits, Robert couldn’t take one step into the break room without being accosted by the team. A mix of hugs, punches, and nuggies are delivered to him and while there’s still guilt around the way things ended, he revels in the familiar warmth he feels whenever he’s with his team.
Don’t think the z team will let him off the hook so easily. But they’ll save the emotional conversations for after work. There’s much they need to talk about (e.g., Robert’s disappearance, him blowing up not that long, Mecha Man’s death, etc)
For this au, it’s up to you if Chad has his fingers cut off or not.
hi! just wanna say that i love your dispatch breakfast club au, i think it's peak and it characterizes robert and the z-team so well with all the little snippets.
personally i've just been imagining waterboy in the au being like a janitor for after school hours bc i was a janitor at my high school and would come across and interact with like clubs and sports teams and such a lot on my routes. not saying this as a suggestion or demand to put him in or anything (bc you might just want to be keeping it to og z-team) but i just thought it was a fun idea to share.
anyway your stuff is awesome and again i love the breakfast club au, genuinely made my day when i saw your most recent post regarding it and it reminded me to send my little ramble lol :]
I’m so glad you love it!! I’m happy just hearing your praise, love.
Were you a janitor as a student? I didn’t know schools allowed that. You were still paid, right?
I see what you’re saying about Waterboy. I like it. He’s one of the kids in the school hierarchy that lets others walk over him. Robert interacts with him a few times and each time he feels not pity but just sad for the kid. One time, Robert even had to save Waterboy from a bully.
Well, enough was enough.
Robert goes to Mandy and petitions for Waterboy to join the afterschool club (without anyone having to be cut—yay!) and she agrees.
He watches Waterboy walk into the club nervous and awkward, stuttering through his introduction and shrinking into himself when the others start laughing and teasing. It’s cruel to throw the sweet boy into a pack of wolves. Yes. But what Robert wants is for Waterboy to go through…exposure therapy? That’s the word, right? I’ll edit later if it’s not.
By Robert’s canon logic: Waterboy is needed. If you have flames, you need water to put them out. Him and Flambae cancel each other out in a way that works. Waterboy’s issue is his lack of confidence and Robert canonically says to that, “fuck them, fuck me, fuck everybody.” Because who cares? The z team won’t stop their words just because Waterboy feels a bit sensitive about it. So Waterboy is forced to have a tougher skin.
Now apply canon logic to this high school au and you’ve got Waterboy added to the z team. He sits with Robert at his table which just makes the z team frustrated because—in the whiniest way possible—they wanted to sit with Robert at his table.
But of course through time the z team gets a bit more sensitive with their jokes and Waterboy gets a tougher skin. That doesn’t mean he’s necessarily changed, he’s still a nice grandma’s boy, yeah? But the insults his bullies throw at him just roll off his back (like water—ha!)
And when the z team gets close to Waterboy, they start hanging out with him at school. None of them share many classes with him. Alice shares chemistry and Victor shares financial literacy with him but outside of that they meet at lunch.
Hanging out with kids like the z team? A bunch of mean delinquents with terrible reputations? Waterboy finds out quickly how fast some people back off of him because of that. Especially when Alice or Victor walk him to class. Even Robert makes the sea of students in the hall part ways when they pass (moreso because of his rich dad but ehh).
These are just my thoughts on how Waterboy would be if he was added but maybe you have a few others?
Who the 🦆 is Bruce? I assume you mean Bruno but I don't know if im missing something 😭 I also love the story.
Some more questions I have but don't know how to ask in a proper sentence so it'll be a rambleeee
I don't know why the question below is so dark I dropped my phone on my face and it just happened
Is Robbie happy his kids in therapy? I feel like since most people imagines him as a very strict individual he wouldn't be to happy with it. Chase may have had to put Robert in therapy or Robbie views it as something to keep his son on tract to be mechaman.
With training wouldn't they're be physical signs? All teachers are mandated reporters and even as a kid I imagine Robert to not take care of himself well along with some scars or bruises randomly popping up that aren't from school fights and are the size of adult hands.
Thats all I have for now and I don't want to ramble to much so here's a picture from my phone
This puppy is also deaf so just the sight of the tape measure is scary to him ❤
I'm so glad you caught that Bruce typo, it was suppose to be Bruno. I'll change it right away lol.
Robbie isn't the best father so he's definitely not happy that his kid is in therapy. At all. But like I said in the previous post Robert was the type of to do a lot of stuff for attention and after being caught vandalizing an abandoned building, Robbie is beyond pissed and is tired of having so many calls of staff, social workers, and others about the things his son is doing. He doesn’t even pick up Robert from the police station, Chase has to. And he's not someone that believes in therapy but it's mandated for Robert so there’s not much he can do and since Robert feels relunctant about it, he decides to think of it as more of a punishment. If that makes sense?
As someone who went to a public school, there's a lot of hesitance mandated reporters feel when they see signs but aren't certain. Especially because the Robertsons are such generous doners and Robbie seems like such a good parent whenever he attends parent teacher meetings so they have to be mistaken. And there's not a lot of physical signs to see when Robert wears a lot of sweaters and long sleeves but what they do see they simply account to the multiple fights he gets into.
Robert would've loved that Great Dane honestly lol.
Chishiya’s the type to realize his feelings, take Arisu’s hand, declare him no longer single, and continue with his day while Arisu is just like ‘yeah okay’
Oh no oh no Robert would hear Flambae suggest they break up (not even hearing the part about making it a real relationship) and retreat unto himself in a way the z-team could never have imagined
I bet the Z-team, Flambaes family, and everybody else is probably pissed at Chad tho
Ohh wait that’s good though I’m not the biggest fan of the whole ‘miscommunication-because-person-didn’t-hear-full-sentence’ trope I can see the angst appeal in this idea.
Chase confronts Robert about his distant behavior and Robert tells him, in a vague bs way, that Chad wants to end their relationship even though it’s fake. Chase chides him for getting into a fake relationship in the first place but then blows up at Chad later because why wouldn’t he? Robert’s his little brother and he’d be damned if he watched his brother get his heart broken.
Chad stands there, listening to Chase rant, and he’s just hit with this rack of guilt that makes him want to curl into himself.
