Day 7: Curls
Curly hair should not be brushed dry. It could cause the curl pattern to become less defined and frizzy or could cause breakage. Not to mention it can hurt like hell. But Kit doesn’t know that. He tries to work the brush through Julia’s hair.
“Daddy that hurts!” Julia whines. Kit pauses. He lets down a sigh and sets the brush down.
“I’m sorry sweetheart.” Kit strokes his daughter’s head “I don’t know how your mother did this without hurting you. I can barely do my own hair let alone hair as curly as yours”
“You’re not even doing it like she did” Julia turns around to face Kit “She would get it wet before she brushed it!”
Kit just looks at Julia for a moment. His mind blanks before filling with questions. How had he never thought to get the hair wet? Why had Alma never told him? Why did Julia take a week before telling him? He sighed before breaking down into laughter. He rests his head on his daughter’s shoulder as he bends forward in laughter.
“Ok honey,” Kit chuckles, finally calming down “Let’s go get that hair wet.”
Kit has Julia lean her head over the bathtub and thoroughly soaks her hair. Working as carefully as he can, he works the brush through. Kit glances up and notices a bottle of conditioner that Alma used to use. He squeezes a glob onto Julia’s hair and rubs it through. He tries the brush again, smiling as it went through easier.
“You know,” Kit smiles down at his daughter “Your mother’s hair was one of the most beautiful things about her”
Julia giggles. Kit sits her up before parting her hair down the middle. He separates the top and ties it off into pigtails.
“She would do all these fancy styles, I wish I’d made her teach me how” Kit forms bubble braids down the back of Julia’s head “I don’t know what I’m doing, I hope it comes out looking good”
Kit ties the ends into buns. He remembers the adorable butterfly clips that Alma used to always put in Julia’s hair and digs through the drawers looking for them. Kit clips one onto each elastic and a few into he buns before turning Julia to face the mirror.
“Beautiful” Kit hugs her “you look just like your mother”
“Really?” Julia smiles up at him
“Really, yeah” Kit pats her shoulder “You got the same smile and the same eyes”
Julia hugs Kit. The next few weeks were filled with experimenting with her hair, and eventually they found styles they both liked. The two treasured the connection between each other and to Alma.

Part. I, Part. II
The common room was dimly lit, the only light coming from the single bulb hanging from the ceiling. Kit could make out the figure of his wife Alma, lying on your shoulder. His heart sank as he recognized you. You were the woman he had promised to protect when he was himself a patient at Briarcliff.
You were lightly caressing Alma's hair while reading her a story you had written. Kit could not make out the words, but he could hear the soft cadence of your voice. The story was about a woman who was saved by a knight that ironically seemed to look like him.
We don’t even get a MENTION of Kit, Alma, Grace, or the kids???
I want to go to there

Note: The names "Sienna, Sophie, and Angie" are the names of Julia's killers who killed her to try and get with Lorelei

Christmas of 1970 was quickly approaching in the Walker’s house and everybody was in a festive mood. As you sat in your cozy home, you discussed how to make Julia’s Christmas as special as possible. She was Kit’s only daughter and you both wanted to make sure it was a memorable one.
Not much motivation so decided to post a colourized Julia! 💚💛 (Her shoes are just black sneakers-)
