MARIO BROTHERS: Humble Beginnings

Part 1

So, uh... I made this comic wayyyy back, when the Mario movie was first announced... I was waiting to post it until more parts were complete, annnnd then completely forgot about it. 😅

Well, no time like the present, right?

Anyway, this is kind of how I envisioned a “Mario Origin Story” would begin. If this gets some attention, maybe it’ll continue... 🤷

AFTERMATH OF MARIO VS DK

BREAKING NEWS!!!! New York City in shock!!! After a large gorilla kidnapped local woman a battle ensued on top of unfinished high-rise when local plumber attempted rescue of the fair maiden!!! After a long battle the ape was vanquished after the plumber fell the beast with a mallet knocking the beast off the high-rise to it's doom, camera man catches picture of the aftermath.

Outfit Changes Are Literal

Fun fact Sonic the Hedgehog is not the only game franchise that has it's design changes of characters being an in universe thing. Several Mario characters have undergone either physical and wardrobe changes due to the passage of time, much of which is confirmed in games.

For example, Super Mario Odyssey confirms Mario, Pauline's, and Cranky Kong's wardrobe change in it's billboards and the Jump Man Costume. There are some games that call attention the fact used to wear a different type of dress among many other things.

Also, in Super Mario Odyssey it is referred to as the Classic Outfit. It's described to be be beloved by long time Mario fans. This is probably referring to in universe Mario fans, because it goes on to say Donkey Kong doesn't like it. Written by Eris the Lorekeeper
