RIDING THE TIDES OF THE CHANGING WORLD
“The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.” - Mark Twain
A lot of people harbor thoughts about why it`s important to be a media literate. It is a fairly and repugnantly understandable because unfortunate souls have this preconceived idea that being able to read and write is enough to be :lettered”. That, on its own, is simply being foolish and arrogant. So, why is being a capable media and information literate important in this day of age you ask/ It`s simple. The world is progressing as we speak. just as the Age of Electronics brought about new advances in multiple fields, the advent of social platforms rapidly captivated the people and ultimately running over people`s lives. The concept of being literate may be simple and dull however, overtime, this develops into an ability to think competently and critically
A critically abled person acquired certain set of skills such as recognize and analyze information. Being to achieve something innocouos yet devastating would be the ideal self-defense against this era or change. It`s like a dragon, with its diamond-like scale of armor, fully equipped with higher education. people agree that not all learning is created equal. information on Web, for example, is constantly growing but not always trustworthy. The issue here is that when somebody posts materials on the web would be consumed by others. This ensures that when conducting studies, there`s plenty of misleading information. However, with the knowledge of information, people would be able to recognize deceptive, outdated or false information. It also lets them sort of constructively analyze the results.
Man who fails to learn is not better that someone who cannot. Once I saw this old timer when I was walking up a sky bridge. Frame that of a dying man, With him his trusted partner playing a pleasant-sounding tune for his life depends on it. Looking, as this old man raises his dreadful arm, he pleads the passing folks for even a single drop of food. Piercing pain struck this young heart. Before his eyes, everything is crumbling yet people fail to notice. Lumping them to trash is not by no means of an exaggeration, Instead of creating a future where one does not experience such a pitiful circumstance, sought a future where that circumstances is gone not just for your own sake but for everyone`s. As a final point, the ultimate goal of literacy is to build overall communication skills, analysis. and critical thinking to ride the tides of change.
