[This is kind of short I’m so sorry. I have more written, but it just felt right to cut it here when I was writing because of the next sequence of events. Chapter Four is like half written and the other half is already planned, so it’ll be out soon. I just finished all of my finals for university and I have so much more time now! I’m a full time student and work two jobs, so finding time to write this was so hard before. I’m only working one job right now, so I’ll be writing as much as I can over break. ALSO(last one agh sorry) Thank you to everyone for reading this. This started out as something for me, but I now I have you guys in mind. I like writing with the thought of your guys’ reactions and thoughts. okay now I’m done. Enjoy~]
Yoongi is many things and being wrapped around his friend’s fingers is not one of them. At least, that’s what he tells himself as he spins one more time in his desk chair. Hoseok sits behind him on a couch sipping at a pink fruit smoothie, far too floral and sweet for his taste.
“What if she sucks?”
Hoseok exhales and looks up from his phone to sigh at Yoongi who continues to spin absentmindedly and sip his black coffee. The brief question of how Yoongi doesn’t get dizzy or choke on his drink crosses through Hoseok’s mind. “Are you really stress spinning in your chair right now, Hyung?”
Yoongi drags himself to a stop and gives Hoseok a blank stare over his drink. “Leave my nervous habits out of this. You’re the one who invited some random girl into my studio and promised I would mentor her. I’m nervous she’s gonna suck and I’m gonna have to fake liking her shit. Jin-hyung’s the token theatre kid, not me.”
Hoseok rose an eyebrow before looking back at his phone. “I’m telling Jin-hyung you said that. Besides, Jeongguk really likes her, Hyung. You would've thought she hung to stairs every night for him or something. Plus, she’s cute. You sure that’s not why you’re nervous?”
Yoongi coughs as he chokes on his coffee. “I am a grown man, why would I be nervous around a girl?”
“Because you haven’t so much as looked in the direction of any girl in 2 years. If I hadn’t walked in that one time while you were jerking off, I would’ve sworn you were asexual or some shit.” Hoseok took great pride in the flesh that fell over Yoongi’s body.
“Hobi, I thought we agreed to not talk about that anymore.” Yoongi wasn’t sure if he wanted to smother himself or Hoseok with one of the shitty throw pillows on the couch.
“Didn’t know it was such a sensitive subject for you Hyung what with how well endowed you are, if you know what I mean.'' Hoseok gave a small smirk as he sipped, not once looking up from his phone.
Yoongi decided that smothering Hoseok and then himself was the best course of action.

There was something entirely too enduring and slightly destructive about the way Jeongguk fiddled with his sleeves. I hadn’t noticed the first time we spoke, but sitting next to him in the café closest to Yoongi’s studio now, the frayed ends on the arms of his sweater were prominent. His fingers, covered by the sleeves of his sweater, fiddle over the cup between his hands for each other as they snag loose strands of fabric. We haven’t really spoken much in the 20 minutes we’ve been sitting, but every time I go to say something he looks more and more nervous. I watch as his left sleeve receives the blunt of his nervousness, possibly one more pull from completely unraveling. It makes me want to hold his hands.
“You’ll ruin your sweater if you keep pulling at the yarn.”
Jeongguk snaps his eyes from the lid of his cup to me as he blinks and looks back down at his sleeves. He flushes and lets go of his cup, probably unaware he was even fiddling with his sweater.. “Sorry, it’s a bad habit of mine. My mom used to roll my sleeve up to my armpits when I was younger to get me to stop.”
I giggled at the image and brought my drink up to my lips. “I used to drink water when I got nervous because some doctor told me it would calm my nerves when I was younger.”
“I don’t see how hydrating yourself is as bad as ruining half of your favorite clothes.”
“It is when you piss yourself on your first day of school as a transfer student.”
Jeongguk stiffens a little and tries his best to suppress his laughs. He fails and a loud cackle rings through the café as he scrunches his face and throws his head back with a smack against wood. I gasp and lunge towards him to cradle the back of his head. A hiss leaves his mouth before he flushes.
“Sorry, I uh…” I go to let go as my cheeks get warmer, but his head leans into my hand again. Oh god he’s the cutest...
“I pissed my pants at a frat house party Freshman year.” My hand, rubbing soft circles where he bumped his head, freezes as he speaks. Jeongguk briefly looks me in the eye before looking at his drink again and licking his lips. “Some guys thought it was a good idea to dare Freshman me to chug from the keg upside down. Apparently, drunk me is more competitive than sober me and can’t hold in their piss while upside down.”
My body falls forward as I laugh, imagining a freshman Jeongguk held upside down by his ankles with piss running down his shirt. I don’t notice how close I’ve leaned on him until I go to speak. “This is gonna sound horrible, but I would’ve loved to see that.” The heat from my breath bounces off his shoulder and back onto my face as I relies how close we are. My head is nearly tucked against his shoulder with less than a couple inches between us.
“Flowers…” Jeongguk’s stiff as he whispers under his breath.
“Uh... flowers?” I slowly retract my hand and lean farther away.
Jeongguk blinks a few times before avoiding eye contact to grab his phone. “W-we should probably go. Hobi-Hyung said he already buttered up Yoongi-Hyung with some iced coffee, so we should be good to go.” He stands from the booth and hands my bag to me from the floor. I nod and swallow down the thought that I probably made him so uncomfortable that he wants to leave early. We didn’t need to be at the studio until 2:30. It was only 2 o’clock.

“You’re sure this is okay, right? I heard he doesn’t let anyone in his studio.”
Jeongguk nods and gives me a gentle small. “that’s only partially true. Yoongi-Hyung doesn’t let strangers into his studio.”
My eyes close as I throw my head back and let out a whine. “Jeongguk-shi I’m a stranger. This is probably really weird, oh god. What if he hates everything I made? I spent like four days perfecting everything on my flash drive.” I can feel my chest rise and fall as I bite down the bile rising in my throat.
Jeongguk twitches his hands out a little, nervous to make any sudden movements, before he settles on grabbing my hands as they twist the straps of my bag. “You’ll ruin your bag if you keep doing that.”
I pout my lips and fix my posture to meet his eyes. He’s too damn tall. “At least give me credit if you’re gonna throw my words back at me.” He doesn’t move his his hands from mine as I relax my shoulder with a small roll. “I’m just really really nervous to meet him. My entire class grade depends on this going well and he’s supposed to be this freaky musical genius. How am I supposed to impress him?” I twist my hands little and give his hands a squeeze back as thank you. God I hope my hand aren’t sweaty right now.
Jeongguk, seemingly to having forgotten about the fact that he was basically holding my hands between his, retracts his hands and wipes them on his pants. “I think you’ll do fine. Besides, Yoongi-Hyung owes a favor or two.”
My mind knows that he doesn’t mean it a negative way, but I still feel my face drop and a heavy feeling settle in my chest. I don’t want Yoongi to agree if it’s just because of his friendship with Jeongguk. I want my talent to be enough for Yoongi and everyone else to see.
Jeongguk seems to notice my mood has soured as he licks his lips and throws a hand through his hair. “Not that I don’t think your music isn’t good enough! I’m just saying that if Yoongi-Hyung says no and you guys don’t, and I quote, “vibe well”, then I'll talk some sense into him. He’s not some big scary producer guy who’s gonna yell at you for not being at the same level as him. He’s barely 5′9″ as it is.”
My head falls to my chest as I watch his fingers fiddle with his sweater.
“I’m gonna be out of the bag and you’re gonna be out of a sweater if we both keep trying to rip them up like this.” My hands do what they’ve been itching to do since the café and gently pry his fingers from beneath the safety of his sleeves. If Chaebin and Yoonjin could see me now they’d be screaming. Me, who took three weeks to hug them without feeling uncomfortable, is now grabbing a boy’s hand all by myself. Look at me go, I guess. “Thank you though, Jeongguk-shi. I knew what you meant, so no hard feelings. Okay? now, let’s get this over with shall we?”
I let go of his hands, which are much much larger than mine and much more tatted now that I give them a glance, only to feel his tightening on mine at the last moment. My head tilts upward as I raise both eyebrows in question.
“You can call me Jeongguk.”
Something in my chest lightens the heaviness from before as I pinch my lips to hide a grin. “Haven’t I already been doing that?” Teasing him is too much fun sometimes.
Jeongguk in all of his tall, and surprisingly tattooed, glory pouts as his shoulder slump inward with a huff. “You know what I mean! We’re friends and the same age, so you can drop the honorifics, (Y/N).”
My eyebrows furrow as my head tilts sideways slightly. “What are you talking about? You’re older than me.”
Jeongguk mirrors my expression before scoffing. “No you’re not, you’re just going by International age. We’re in the same grade, so we’re the same age obviously.” I press down the minuscule laugh that bubbles up and give Jeongguk’s hands over mine a small squeeze before sliding a hand into my bag. I let the smile break across my face as I find what I’m looking for and replace my other hand in his with it.
Jeongguk brings my government issued id closer to his face, no glasses today sadly, before his eyes widen.
“How does Jeongguk-oppa sound?”
Jeongguk clears his throat before handing my id back to me. “Oppa sounds great.”
