Decided to make this it's own post, because explaining it, and the things that happened because of it, is the biggest part of their story :)
Juniper and Asin are characters in my current dnd game. Juniper is my player character and Asin is their "positive contact" from character creation.
The two of them were incredibly close for two decades, becoming friends as teenagers to saving up money to buy their own ship, have their own crew and run their own transport ship. Their primary recipient was a scientist named Dr. Viragald, he was known for experimenting newly emerging Magitech. He was a very entitled and self important man. Incredibly power hungry and would often fine the ship captains for very small infractions, or simply lie, to not pay them what they were owed.
Juniper was in the middle of a large shipment when she learned of just how much the components she was shipping could be worth if sold to criminals and pirates. Fed up with Dr. Viragald's exploitative practices, Juniper and Asin convinced their crew to leave their course and sell the parts for a higher profit, officially beginning their life as pirates.
For the next 10 years Juniper and Asin built Port Zihophli on what would come to be known as Pirate Cove. A sanctuary for pirates where a truce was declared upon docking as well as assisting those you needed help with ship repairs and the like. Having established the port Juniper became known as the Pirate Lord, a kind of ruler and decision maker within the port. After spending the last several years helping establish the port itself, Juniper and Asin finally had a moment to build the home they wanted within the port. Things were nearly complete when a newer pirate brought Juniper of an old map with a strange poem on the back leading to a treasure of some kind. Talking with Asin the two agreed to have Asin stay back and make sure the house was completed while Juniper went in search of this treasure.
She set out a week later and sailed as far as she could before needing to drop anchor for the night since the ship was too big to go further. As she was getting ready for bed, just having taken off her jacket, she was stabbed from behind, assassinated by someone she couldn't see.
After Juniper goes missing Asin is devastated and in denial, sending hundreds of search crews and spending much of the port's money looking for her. In her absence Asin became the second Pirate Lord, maintaining the port for when Juniper returned. A year after her disappearance, Asin was contacted by The Ascendents, the gods of the world, to become a gate-keeper. A kind of seal to keep another god imprisoned in the center of the world, granting the gate-keeper immortality (to an extent). Asin excepted, seeing this as an opportunity to have more time to find Juniper.
Not long after this Asin is kidnapped by an upcoming pirate named Bastion Bones, and brought to Dr. Viragald's Island. He beings experimenting with Asin's newly immortal state, and though he doesn't know why they are immortal, is able to reverse engineer the spell, using Asin as a kind of human battery, for his own immortality, that he extends to Bastion Bones and his two closest companions.
This continues for 400 years, Asin slowly becoming weaker, having been reduced to nothing but a battery, though still holding out some kind of hope that Juniper would return and find them.
As time passes the trapped god's followers are able to assist her in regaining some hold on the flow of magic, causing it to be disrupted. The Ascendants decide to use some of their strength to revive heroes of the past to help regain control of magic.

So to answer the question: Their home no longer exists because it's been 400 years :D The world and society they know simply no longer exists. The only person either of them know from their time (that they hold in a positive regard) is the other. Even the rest of their party is historical by their standards.

4. What is a song/songs you associate heavily with your OC?
I have a whole playlist for Juniper with different songs for different parts of her story. I love making character playlists with different songs in chronological order, the moment i have 3 or more songs for a character they're in chronological order.
A big one i associate with her is "Queen of Kings" by Alessandra being a powerful sailor woman who 'rules' the seas. Her story is about establishing a pirate sanctuary within the world and majorly boosting the amount of piracy within the world due to that.
The other one is "You're Not Welcome" by Naethan Apollo. While it does have a specific character it's being "sung" to in a specific moment, i think the intent behind the song -- someone crossing her -- is very applicable to her character. She's not a forgiving person. If you do wrong by her of those she cares about, she will fuck you up to the best of her ability. The opening lines of the song:
"I don't start fights but i'll handle you just fine
usually, i'm very kind to others
But i won't think twice if you step to me or mine"
Are veryyyy her.
11. What does your OC's voice and/or accent sound like?
THIS one is a very interesting question. Since she's my ttrpg character, *technically* she sounds like me, BUT- it's very possible to have an 'in' vs 'out' of character voice. This is something i've been meaning to (and needing) to work on for a while.
I think she is very commanding in her tone, she's a captain and has been for years, she's used to telling people what to do and where to go, and this can certainly be intimidating. I think she would have a lower voice, not gruff or aggressive, but lower. I think thats all i have right now? A very good question though. thank you!!
23. What is your OC's favourite part of their own appearance?
Her hair!! Or lack there of? Because she is a Water Genasi (a Dungeons and Dragons race that is part water elemental) I thought it would be cool to have her hair actually be water. This created a lot of questions in my head about how that could function and in order for this to make sense I need to explain how it works a bit in my head.
Since she's a water genasi she is able to use a very minor bit of magic (cantrip level ( a type of spell that doesn't require energy and is able to be cast infinitely), mechanically imagine it to be a racial trait) to manipulate the water onto her head and give it the appearance of hair. It doesn't grow and it isn't produced from her head, technically she's bald, BUT she can do this magic however much she wants in what ever style she wants. Length, volume, style could change drastically from day to day (though at this point in her life she's settles on what she likes.) Although, she needs something to keep it in place, she cant focus on the magic all day, she needs to use her hands for other things, so she uses a little piece of cord? rope? a hair tie that has a minor version of "control water" to keep her hair up.
With That explained, it's her favorite part because of the amount of variety it can bring to her appearance. On top of being a useful identifier she can remove if she wants to be more conspicuous she was also able to do a lot with it when she was first becoming a sailor. Figuring out what worked and what didn't and what she enjoyed. It is also a very nice connection to her Water Genasi father who did her hair when she was little and too young to do it herself, and he's also the one who gave her the hair tie since he styled his hair shorter than he did when he was younger.
And while it is her favorite part, sometimes it is absolutely a hassle to do and she just puts on a head wrap to keep her skin protected.
(apologies for the three paragraphs i have thoughts about her hair, this is not even all of them i cut it down significantly kkkkk)

9. What's your OC's favourite weather?
When it's very lightly raining but the sun is still out. Just enough to feel the drops but you're not soaked and you don't have to worry about a storm on the sea.
26. What does your OC find attractive in a person?
Passion and dedication to the things they believe in, confidence, and a level of competence.
(This question is further cementing that i need to work on the specifics of Juniper and Asin's relationship, because at this point it's "they act like this" but i don't know why they act like that. Something i've been meaning to do for a while.)
38. What is a very sentimental item your OC has?
When they left their village to join the merchant ship crew, they brought a small knife with them from when they were a child. It was useful for a time, but it is very clearly child size and not suitable for adult hands as a tool or as a weapon. It's probably one of the few things they have left from their home, especially since it no longer exists.
