Blue Pansy at Rest

A Blue Pansy (Junonia orithya) basking in the sun on a dried leaf among other jungle litter.

Usually, we would take the shot with the camera lowered near the ground to isolate the butterfly better. But the wings were too attractive to miss, so this was taken with the camera above it, and that meant messy surroundings. In post, the surrounding jungle litter was then darkened away.
