Israfel @ Jupiter
Jupiter trying not to break down in front of Israfel while they're hanging out because Israfel absorbs emotions and he doesn't want to put that onto him, but Israfel holding his face and telling him its alright, he wants to feel this with him
Brb imagining that Jupiter knows what Israfel's song sounds like because he begged Israfel to sing for him when Rosie's disappearance was fresh. Israfel initally refused, but when he caught Jupiter trying to sneak into one of his shows, he decided it was better to let Jupiter hear him sing in a contained environment where he could stop whenever either of them wanted. Israfel sung for him in his dressing room backstage and Jupiter felt the unbroken peace, and then the terrible crash back to reality.
Israfel never sung for Jupiter again, even though he asked, but he never tried to sneak into one of Israfel's shows without headphones, either
Jupiter
Aro4aro Juprifel. Do you see my vision
Juprifel headcanons:
- Jupiter was a massive flirt in his youth. He loved going out to bars and flirting with anybody who seemed interested. The only problem was that he was never interested in the follow through. Many of the people he met expected more than just an evening of empty words, though, and the guilt about leading people on eventually overwhelmed the fun of flirting. So, he stopped. Mostly. He's not immune to attractive people, after all.
- Some of the affairs lasted longer, but Jupiter always pulled away when they started to want something serious. The idea of a permanent relationship made his skin crawl. (Alloaro moment)
- He met Israfel in his early twenties, just as he was starting up the Hotel Deucalion. He was prowling through Bohemia, looking for starving artists who were willing to perform at his hotel's grand opening for very little money. Israfel was lucky enough to be coming out of the Old Delph just as Jupiter was breaking in.
- The moment it became clear that Israfel wasn't the type of performer Jupiter was looking for, Jupiter switched tracks and began flirting with him. Israfel was enamored by his bravery, and flirted back quite willingly.
- Israfel figured that was the end of it, but was pleasantly surprised when the amateur hotelier returned for another round only a couple days later. They went out for drinks, exchanged flirty conversation, and kissed in the bar's bathroom.
- Their relationship was extremely casual. They both had no interest in anything more than that. Jupiter dropped by the Old Delph whenever he was in Bohemia, and Israfel always made sure he had a way to get backstage. They entertained each other after performances, every now and then going out to bars and restaurants when they were feeling particularly fancy. In between the more steamy parts of their affair, they forged a strong friendship.
- They nearly caused a scandal when a journalist from The Looking Glass photographed them making out in the alleyway behind the Old Delph. When asked for comment, Jupiter politely informed them that his relationships were none of the press's concern, Israfel's "What are you, the Stink? Leave me alone." was significantly less polite.
- When Rosie went missing, their relationship fizzled out. Between his missions with the League, and being Jack's primary caregiver, Jupiter had no time to go down to Bohemia, even to have drinks with his friend. There was no breakup, there wasn't an official relationship to begin with, but Israfel found himself feeling bitter that Jupiter didn't visit anymore.
- They didn't talk for almost three years, but after the League shut down Jupiter's search party, Israfel finally left Bohemia to be there for his friend. They reconnected after that, never quite meeting as often as they once did, but things were easier once Jack went off to boarding school (I assume Jack was bid on by Greysmark at 10, so he went off at 11).
- Jupiter got busy again as Morrigan's 11th birthday (and, as it turned out, the end of the age) drew closer and he was forced to make plans to rescue Morrigan. Then came the Trials, and suddenly it was Winter of One and they hadn't spoken since Winter of Eleven. The bitterness returned to Israfel just as fast as Jupiter left. Their friendship was important to him, and Jupiter seems to abandon it whenever things get busy.
- The safeguard jumpstarted their relationship again. Jupiter's still extremely busy, but he makes sure to write to Israfel often. The first few times, Israfel didn't bother to respond, still bitter, but Jupiter's persistence eventually wore him down. They've been writing back and forth ever since
Juprifel hours. Sweater Weather. Hghghgh
what are your favourite nevermoor ships
I'm not really into many Nevermoor ships at the moment! I used to like Morridence, but it kinda fizzled out because I like the Unit 919 sibling dynamic better personally (feel free to ship them though!). I think Juprifel would be interesting if done properly, but I also like the exes dynamic instead of the active relationship dynamic.
