#hollow knight#hk silksong#silksong#something interesting i was thinking about is that like#herrah wanted to be a mother desperately and effectively gave up her chance to truly 'be' that for hornet by virtue of the deal#while also the white lady mentions her desire to spawn in general but the vessels were inherently not 'children' in their conception#we dont have a lot of information about vespa but personally given the nature of (social) bees she may be a parent to the hive in a literal#sense but the structure of that system is less mother and children and more queen and their subjects#so in a way taking hornet on as her mentor might have been the closest she actually got to being a 'mother' in a duty way#same with the white lady and hornet potentially - not her child#but a child to her in a way her own werent meant to be#idk just thinking about like... herrah essentially passing on her ability to fulfill the role of mother just for the chance to#have a child at all despite the fact she likely wont have more impression on her daughter than simply having birthed and died for her#and the surrogates who replaced herrah were likely mothers but only in the reproductive way and never as a actual role to their children#just interesting
