i've previously said i don't have quite interesting commentary as far as like this run goes because they're frankly not very interesting, but i think this is like the second silliest grievance i have because par for the course, most of the writers are going to write him as either excessively or "necessarily" violent / abusive around his kids just to put it out there, categorically so, but like idk why this scene has been bugging me to a comical amount, because like by nature of their relationship, and essentially all of his relationship with his kids, his intimidation tactic has always been almost you know militant and authoritative ( or maybe that's just how i approach it ) and this just feels...spongebob me.
Quasartico Inc call out post!
like, my dude. for real? like, ok first the fact that the mega crystals showed up after the urban redevelopment started (source: in game unnamed NPC) like that's so weird magic rocks are growing all over the city and instead of doing anything about it they just twiddle their thumbs like "i wish we could do more-"
meanwhile the entire electric type gym is MIA, and so is sycamore, the professor of the region like yes you get NPC dialogue that he and Trevor are in "a far off region" like, sycamore specialized in mega evolution and like, where else can you mega evolve pokemon? is ORAS cannon in ZA? is lets go pikachu and eevee cannon in ZA? if it's Alola then why not just name drop it?
i also want to point out the nepotism? like, urbian/taunie get handed the chairman role for no other reason besides being Jett's long lost grandchild. AND the fact that urbian/taunie and harmony/paxton just go from rank V to rank F just because? like ya you tame a wild absol why is urbian/tauine also roped in when they wern't even there? why is one tamed pokemon is a 15 jump in ranks?
and the team flare glazing is unreasonable. like 17 cafes and 3 of them are team flare Nouveau owned. like- did we just forget team flare tried to genocide the entire region 5 years ago? why is mable, out of all people, an x team flare scientist, now professor of the region? why is lysander aloud to just wander around unsupervised? the lab is still in one piece and it their place the rust syndicate is running around filling the vaccume team flare left
how is lumious still standing? and how in the name of arceus did Quasartico Inc get away with everything?
Fuck, I don't know how to feel about Titan now.
I was all for him fucking Ruin over and the entire first half of the episode had me rolling, it was hilarious seeing Titan get angry about Ruin getting back up while Ruin was fussing about the carpet of all things, and the "do you want a hug" was so out of left field and I loved seeing Titan reel back.
I really wish Titan had just interrogated Ruin for the information or combed through his head like Nexus did. Would've been vindicating and gave us a chance to see Puppet- at least a voiceless cameo. But nope, he went to the Celestial family...
I'm so frustrated because my hopes that Titan would break the mold and be the type to keep his word were dashed, but worse yet they came at the cost of poor Atles dying. Sun's response made it even more devastating- literally everyone he grows to care for dies around him, and he's helpless to stop it. It's so fucking unfair!
And I feel awful for Cosmos as well- he was just worried for Sun and didn't know how else to express it, but ends up taking the brunt of yet another sibling lashing out once their problems have bubbled up and boiled over. This is literally the third time. It's not fair to him, either...
Titan's still a really good villain but just- so frustrated rn. Probably will warm up again when I feel better but I really hate how the latter half of the episode unfurled, it's not fair to anyone and I'm genuinely tired of the "unpredictable" villains who can't be counted on to keep their words. I have no reason to believe he'll leave them alone if they entertain him for two months now.
But on a side-note, Atles was so fucking casual about being killed?? "Well, this is unfortunate," SIR PLEASE YOU'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF BEING MURDERED- I'm being hella optimistic- maybe to a naive degree- but I'm just hoping that means he respawns at home and cannot be killed. Then he visits Sun and everything's okay and Sun apologizes to Cosmos for lashing out. ;w; I KNOW IT WON'T HAPPEN BUT LET A GIRL DREAM-
im rly a slut for when 2 characters have been with other people before but when they finally have sex with each other it feels like the first time because nothing ever mattered before this
genuinely i love my friends. however when they start 'rage baiting' me over something I'm really passionate about, it genuinely pisses me off because it's not funny to me. like dude i legit cant tell if youre serious or not and by the time I figure out or you tell me, im already pissed off and worked up.
It messes me up to consider how in every timeline, Ryouta can never be truly happy, at least not without great loss first. In the main timeline, he loses his mother, admitting that he'll be messed up from it for a long time.
In Holiday Star he has to confront his deepest fears of losing Hiyoko, fears that never truly get resolved, only able to admit that he can't run from it.
And I don't think I need to get into BBL.
Even in Mirror, from the bits and pieces we've got from it, Ryouta still seems troubled even here. The others got to avoid their losses but Ryouta still sits in a broken home, perhaps having even more pain buried away now (especially judging by the weirdness of Mirror Ryouta art)
And sure, there's others who always get it a bit rough even in their best outcomes like Sakuya... But there's just something so heartbreaking to the fact that Ryouta, who often serves as anchor and beacon to others just can't ever have that.
