Like. Fire magic would be super useful on the streets: he could start fires when it’s cold, cook food, and make light if they have to do anything at night.

And of course it could possibly be a weapon, but he probably avoids that. As much trouble as he’d be in for the sheer amount of theft he and his brothers have done (which he’d probably say was all him to protect them), he’d probably have more problems from assault and/or murder.
