When: Present Day Where: Outskirts of Star City - The Bug With: Bruce W @justicealwaysprevails

Ted liked to think he was pretty slick hiding The Bug outside of the city, close enough for him to get to, but not about to be tripped over, plus it cloaked itself pretty damn well if he said so himself. It held his lab in it which he’d been toiling over for the past few (read: way too many) hours trying to figure out what’d caused the dampening of powers throughout the city. It needed to something spread over different locations, people would’ve noticed a massive-ass pulse going though the whole city at once.

He sighed, pulled his orange tinted goggles off (they were part of his costume and helped him work thanks to being tricked out.. .plus they looked cool) and ran a hand through his messy hair, debating whether or not to have another coffee and get back at it when a deep voice called his name and he all but fell out of his chair while he screamed and looked around.

“Goddammit Batman! Can’t you knock like a normal person!? I swear you get a kick outta sneaking up in people, you can’t do this to a dude with a bad heart.” he whined, hand unconsciously running over his chest.

When: Present Day - Night Where: Star City - Chuck’s Apartment With: Bruce W @justicealwaysprevails

Chuck was pretty hard up for money these days, he almost never got hired for jobs (save work he occasionally did for other super-villains) and the money from that couldn’t last forever. But he’d had enough to manage this months rent. His apartment wasn’t exactly glamorous, a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom with no heating, the glass smashed in two windows and several rats could be seen scampering about from time to time but he didn’t really mind. He didn’t need to be rich, he had Charlie.

Didn’t mean he didn’t get cold though. His night clothes were a vest and loose pants that were frayed around the edges so he had his blanket wrapped around him and huddled over his cooker to keep warm while he heated some beans in a pan. When they were steaming he took’em off the hob, sad on the single, sagging mattress and started to dig in, humming to himself and talking to Charlie between bites.

He didn’t even hear the other enter, but one second he looked up and Batman was standing there, “Wha!” he half cried, almost tipping his beans down himself, luckily he didn’t, he couldn’t really afford to waste food. Once he recovered from the surprise he grinned up at the other and waved a hand, “Hey Batman! You come to visit Ol’Chuck? Real nice of you! I saw some of yours boys a few days back, they seem good.” he said lightly, “Want a drink? I got... water?”

Who: Bruce Wayne @justicealwaysprevails When: Present Day Where: Delia’s Penthouse Apartment

It had been a long evening. The leader of the biggest mob family in the city had invited her out to dinner and she wasn’t stupid enough to say no. It had been a productive meal though; they’d trash talked her ex, talked business and he’d assured her she’d be ‘taken care of.’ Not that she needed to be but the comfort blanket was nice in a new city. Stepping inside her new place, with several boxes still waiting to be unpacked, she kicked her shoes off and all but fell on her bed still wearing her evening dress.

She lay their motionless for a moment, one hand under her pillow, the other above it, eyes closed, till she heard a swish of movement and with no hesitation whipped up, pulling a handgun from under her pillow and aiming it at the intruder... One immediately recognisable to a Gothamite. “I have a door with a perfectly working bell. I’m also not a criminal so this better be a social call.” Her voice didn’t shake and her aim was steady, “Baring that in mind what can I do for you Batman? Or would you prefer Bruce Wayne?”

Winter Is Coming || Zee & Bruce

Though the holidays were just around the corner, the magician was compelled to get a head start on redecorating the theater. The interior was coming along nicely thus far. With valuable assistance from her manager, she was hard at work adorning the borders of the stage with green, red and white lighting.

She observed her handiwork from the front of the stage, minding the heels of her feet from stepping too far back, lest she slip from the edge. As for her manager, he observed from the right aisles of the orchestra seats. He was asking her if they wanted to decorate the dressing rooms as well. She tapped her finger to her temple and cleared her throat.

“Let’s make sure they work first and then we’ll take a break,” she informed her manager. Her heels clicked against the wooden floors before stopping in between both sides of the stage. With a simple snap of her fingers, she uttered the word,“etanimullI!”

A few seconds passed before all of the lights illuminated the arching borders of the stage.

It has been a few weeks Chuck had been released from jail and for him life was back to its usual self. He tried to get work, hardly got any, barely got by and played with Charlie. His run-down apartment wasn’t any better than when he’d left but no one had looted the place and Charlie still had his toys. So all in all things were a-okay in Chuck’s mind.

He was working away on the kite-cam (trying to find a good way to control where it looked while it was on his kite) when he looked up and squawked as Batman had appeared. He smiled after a moment though, “Oh, hey Batman! Haven’t seen you in a while...” Wait... “Y’know I swear I had something to tell you...” he couldn’t remember it though...
