aaj ki chai is a truly relatable and hilarious scene from ruchika oberoi’s acclaimed island city (2015) – featuring two greats of marathi cinema (really, indian cinema in general!), uttara baokar and jyoti subhash. uttarao baokar’s character suffers through the indolent visit of a guest over tea, one who slowly slurps her tea and breaks her tiny biscuit into fours just to be eaten one by one while offering condolences over fatalistic proverbs. all the while uttara baokar’s character anxiously notes that it’s almost 12:00 – the exact time the daily television serial/soap opera she and her daughter-in-law (amruta subhash!!!) are kind of absolutely obsessed with starts.

The premier of Chi va Chi Sau Ka was a very glossy affair. The event was attended by many Marathi celebrities along with the cast and crew of the film. Mrinmayee Godbole was looking very glamorous in her stylish dress. Lalit was as usual very handsome in his casuals. The event was also attended by Paresh Mokashi and Madhugandha Kulkarni- director and writer of the film.

The film has been receiving great reviews from the critics and audience has loved the film. The film is a love story of a eco-conservationist and an animal lover. The great story, beautiful performances and witty dialogues have made a film big hit.

The premiere was attended by Shashank ketkar, Sai Tamhankar, Parna Pethe, Jitendra Joshi, Sukanya Kulkarni, Supriya Pathare, Amruta Subhash, Jyoti Subhash, Amey Wagh, Akshay Bardapurkar Suhrud Godbole, Girija Oak, Omprakash Shinde, Rasika Sunil, Paresh Mokashi, Nikhil Sane, Madhugandha Kulkarni, Purnima Talwalkar, Suhita Thatte, Rohini Hattangadi along with other cast & crew of film.
