My Digimon Adventure/02 "Worldstate"
(Aka: fun headcanons by alpaca.)
Eh, you know what? I am sick, I am bored, I am just gonna go through the main fandoms I am writing for and generally explain my worldstate/timeline for them. After all, as I said, I generally write always stories in the same one timeline.
So, most important things ahead: My Digimon Adventure/02 worldstate completely ignores tri., Kizuna, and The Beginning. I liked the latter two movies, but they do not fit with my headcanon, so I ignore them. They also, obviously, ignore the fucking 02 epilogue, because it sucks.
In my timeline, the first Chosen Kids came to the Digital World in 1995, and yes, their partners became the Holy Beasts (including Huanglongmon).
Adventure/02 happens as is for the most part. Even the stuff I do not like. Movies 1 to 4 are also all canon.
While I do find the "everyone has a Digimon partner" idea very idealistic, I did indeed go with: "after the events of 02 a lot more people get Digimon partners". Among the first people being the siblings of the Adventure/02 kids, like it is alluded to in the Drama CD.
In my timeline Miyako has a crush on Ken, but Ken is gay, which is why their relationship is not happening. Miyako goes to Mimi to cry, and eventually ends up in a relationship with her. The two of them being by far the longest lasting relationship I have in my stuff. They get together during Miyako's second year of High School, and when Miyako goes to university, she decides to go for a Scholarship and study in New York. Mimi never moves back to Japan (because that always felt so weird to me, after they had written her out of 02 due to her being abroad).
At some point after this, while most of the kids are at uni, Koshiro confesses his fealings for Taichi, and those two are together. When Koshiro due to his research on the Digital World moves to the US as well, Taichi moves with him. Meaning Mimi, Miyako, Koshiro, and Taichi all live in New York City together. Taichi does eventually become a spokes person for the people who have Digimon partners.
Mimi and Miyako in their late twenties eventually adopt a trans girl, who ran away from home, named Rose. (I do have a whole story about that, but I need to see when I get to write that, especially as Mimi and Miyako are a ship nobody but me cares about.)
Jobwise I went for Mimi with the weird mistranslation of the German dub: she is a nutritionist. Not a famous cook or anything. She knows food chemistry and nutrition science. Miyako meanwhile becomes a research partner to Koshiro.
When it comes to the other kids a quick rundown:
Sora and Yamato are together for a bit, and have twins out of wedlock, but never get married.
Sora eventually marries Jyou, who is a steady pillar of support for her. She takes over the shop from her mom, teaching Ikebana. Jyou becomes a school teacher.
Yamato does music for a bit, and struggles a lot with actually finding a direction in life, but eventually steps into the footsteps of his parents and ends up working in journalism, specifically music journalism.
Yamato marries only in his early thirties, and eventually has a kid with his wife. (The sister of a colleague.)
Takeru and Hikari date during High School, but realize that they think of each other more as siblings than romantic partners and break up after just a few weeks.
Hikari eventually becomes a professional photographer, focusing mostly on wedding photography. She meets her later husband during a wedding, where he is working in catering.
Takeru ends up becoming a child psychologist. Like Yamato he marries fairly late, but has two kids with his wife.
Daisuke originally starts playing professional soccer, and is even in the major leagues, but then gets injured and cannot return to it. He decides upon this, that he will indeed become a ramen chef, and starts working for Digitamamon in the Digital World.
Ken is having a crush on Daisuke for years without being able to actually confess, until after Daisuke starts to work for Digitamamon. He does eventually though. The two are awkward about it.
Ken becomes a lawyer in my timeline.
Iori ends up being quite talented with languages and doing a year abroad during high school in South Korea. He meets his future wife there. While he first moves back to Japan, he eventually relocates to Seoul, and marries, working as a fulltime translator.
Bonus 1: Wallace in my timeline is a disaster bisexual, who struggles to ever settle down. He goes backpacking when he is just an adult, and just... never stops. He becomes eventually a wildlife photographer, and gets into all sorts of wacky adventures (both romantic and otherwise).
Bonus 2: Michael meanwhile suffers for a good while the fate of being the kid of a celebrity (as in: always being compared to his father). He eventually through circumstances ends up moving to South Africa, and working for a non-profit helping kids in poverty.
Bonus 3: Jun is for a long while in a weird threesome relationship with Momoe and Shin (not Shuu), though that eventually goes not well. During university (she does Botany) she eventually meets a girl she gets with. She and Daisuke bond as adults about them both being bisexual.
A lot of my worldstate for that universe is kinda build around me really disliking the idea of all of them having super successful careers. I just want them to be a bit more normal, or for things to go wrong, but it being okay still.
Of the kids, Rose is really the only one I know a bit more of, because she has a whole story.
