k can we go over a couple of little things really quickly? uh though this is basically mostly a vent post so... I’ll cut it and you can just scroll right past if you don’t want to read it. I’m not forcing anyone to read me venting a little. so. it’s up to you. (thanks if you do read it though, i appreciate it)

so, first... in bsd there are virtually no real canon ships, right? I mean in the fandom there’s... *squints* yeah I know basically just about every character with every other character that ever exists. let’s ignore fanon for one second. in canon there’s not really that kind of content, right?

second. I am a very much non-shippy person. like. I do not ship much. I almost only ship canon stuff, very little outside of canon. end of story. that’s just how I do things. and I do ship a smidgeon outside of canon so like. I am just a non-shipper for the most part but occasionally do agree with a pairing here or there. occasionally.

so, considering these two facts:

why do I find it so hard to imagine a bsd fanfic that isn’t mostly centred around one ship or another?? someone please explain. I don’t ship these ships, they’re not canon, and I don’t generally think of ships when I think ‘fanfiction’. so someone tell me why I can barely imagine a non-shippy fanfic for bsd, please, because this sensation while somewhat tolerable really gets under my skin sometimes and I feel like there’s virtually nothing I can do about it, if I want to look at fanfics (which I really would, if at all possible).

can everyone just imagine a fanfic that isn’t centred around shipping for a moment? if that’s alright? cool. let’s imagine that for a moment if you don’t mind
