And he's painted! I got a little impatient and strung him anyway >> not sure how well the sueding will hold up but overall he looks great! Magnet for his tail will be here tomorrow and I have a friend I've commissioned for his robes.
I'll have a Lambert to go with him, too, but I'm still waiting on the modded Sheepy head.
...for now, at least. i know myself, and i'll probably be fiddling with this for...ever, basically, lmao. BUT!
BEHOLD! my first ever bjd: a little fella!!
siffrin is a character from In Stars and Time, by @insertdisc5
doll base is Kabbit, by @aelithart, using the Nova head (modified by myself, to have human ears), and Fantasia boots. faceup and eye were done by me.
siffrin's knife was modeled by reddit user InfinitumDividatur- i just scaled it down to doll size, then printed & painted it.
all clothes (except sif's turtleneck) were hand sewn by me! and yes, i did, in fact, use a backstitch on the cloak, to be canon compliant. 😂
bonus faceup pics below the cut!!
better look at the faceup, without everything else in the way. i'm still learning- this was my first faceup!- but i'm pretty happy with how it turned out!!
no lashes for the blinded eye, since they'd just get squished under the eye patch anyway. but you CAN see a neat little easter egg, here: i made sif's eyes two different shades, to match loop. :3
lil naked hancock kabbit, i wish i knew how to sew so i could make his lil outfit. if you wanna make your own i have his files for sale on my ko-fi! https://ko-fi.com/azraen/shop
if you're okay with 3d printed dolls, you might want to look into AelithArt's Kabbit. Kabbit is 1:6 scale like most fashion dolls, has chibi proportions, and being 3d printed they can have any skin tone you like. AelithArt's made tons of mix and match parts for Kabbit and there's a really great discord community, so if you don't have or know anyone who has a 3d printer it's really easy to find someone who can do the printing for you!
I'm totally fine with 3D prints. I keep saying that someday I'll learn to 3D sculpt to make my own figures and dolls to print out, but who knows if that will actually happen X'D
Oh, I love Aelith's Kabbit! That hadn't even crossed my mind.
Thank you for that suggestion! Definitely something to consider.
