Kaecilius used to have two ax looking thingies as relics at the beginning of the movie (he decapitates the librarian with them) and in the prequel comics. And that got me thinking about whether relics can abandon/reject their master. The Eye has rejected Stephen in the comics before, when he got super into dark magic, so it can happen. Also, I wonder what happens when masters die. Do their relics die with them? Do they mourn and then wait for another master? Who was the Cloak’s previous master, I wonder… Who the fuck was the previous owner of the Staff of the freaking Tribunal???

This made me go into my kindle to pull up the MCU guide for DS.

Part of me wonders if he still had the scythes but just had no need for them anymore since he could warp material outside the mirror dimension. Poor scythes though :( If they were sentient like the Cloak would they have been hurt by the neglect? Or would they have just refused to cooperate after they were used to kill? Or maybe they’ll just go with whatever they’re master wants no questions asked? Lots of possibilities to consider!

I’m leaning towards the scythes staying with Kae but he neglected them, not the other way around. I think relics are inheirtly loyal unless they’re something extremely powerful like the Eye. I think most are so loyal they take time before accepting a new master. Which now makes me wonder if there’s a familial component to it? Do relics stay in a family for generations? Can it tell if someone belongs to the bloodline of a previous beloved master? Or even more heartwarming...do relics simply wait for their master to be reincarnated? There’s just so many ways to go with this and each possibility lends itself to super fun ideas!

Had nothing to do, so I decided to read the DS prequel comics. Kaecilius tried to tear Wong a new one in the prequel comics! I think it’s obvious there’s no love lost between them when Kae leaves KT. They really didn’t like each other. Adding that canon interaction to our established fanon, I can imagine Kae trying to drive Wong and Mordo apart, and maybe even succeeding? Kae acted as though he was Sorcerer Supreme already in that comic (I mean, he’s the son-in-law, so ofc he thinks that lol)

Oh yeah Nonny, I completely agree. Fanon was always in favor of Kaecillius and Wong despising each other, and thankfully canon wholeheartedly agrees.

Ughh it breaks my fucking heart to see Wong like this. He already failed which was painful for him enough and now he’s gotta hear Kaecillius talking shit about him to his face. I feel like Wong’s still standing there listening to him because he feels guilty about losing.

I love this page for various reasons. I’m so fond of MCU Daniel, even if we did get barely any time at all with him. Here we see him being a mediator, and more than that we see him standing up for Wong. I really like that. 🥺 I love seeing Wong being supported and respected. It also shows how humble Daniel is. He knows this obviously requires more than one master to deal with and he’s perfectly fine working with people. He doesn’t have arrogance or pride. Just...ughhhh we need more people like that in the world.

Okay just throwing this out there since the topic segwayed to how awesome Daniel Drumm, Master of the Mystic Arts is. I really adore the idea of Wong trying to get Mordo and Daniel together. Daniel/Mordo is a super rare pair but it’s still a great one nonetheless. Daniel would treat Mordo so well you guys 😭. They’d be so damn good for each other. I’m sure Wong’s pretty eager to get Mordo away from Kaecillius and cheering Daniel on.

I have a headcanon that Kaecillius was the master of the NY Sanctumn before and then he got demoted reassigned after Mordo expressed worries that he may be seeing someone else on the side (I’m gonna say it’s Lucian cause I love that trash pairing and I enjoy imagining Lucian thinking he can rival Mordo’s ass but c’mon folks ain’t no one alive that can rival that trademark ass but anyways....) Kaecillius gets sent back to KT low-key in order to salvage his relationship with Mordo. The replacement master for the Sanctum? Daniel Drumm. I just think it adds more to their little exchange in the movie.

“I see they made you master of this Sanctum” -implies Daniel’s assignment is new

“You know what that means?”- spoken retorically, shows that Daniel knows that Kaecillius’ is familiar with the commitment that comes with the title.

I know I’m reaching but I love the drama hehehe XD

Oh, but back to Kaecillius trying to drive Wong and Mordo apart. That’s such a hallmark tactic used by manipulators and abusers. To separate their victims from their family and friends. In this case, he’d try to get Wong and Mordo to fall out. And yes, perhaps he succeeds but it’s only for a bit of time. Cause honestly Wong’s amazing. Who’s gonna stay angry at him for long? Also I figure that Mordo would see through Kaecillius after he’s literally all he has left. Or better yet, if he gives him an ultimatum. Join him in rebellion, or stay loyal to TAO and suffer. And of course he’s gonna choose his mom ❤️😭❤️

As for Kaecillius already acting like the Sorcerer Supreme....ahhhh that’s some juicy concept right there. Can you imagine him actually giving commands and saying that TAO approved of it when it’s actually all his doing? I bet you he did that. I also bet he’d voice his various disagreeements with her rule and how he would have done differently. I can see him trying to open the Eye too. Or him actually taking it from the pedestal and wearing it. Kinda like a certain doctor we know... 😱

Which Hugh Dancy fits with Mads's Kaecillius?

oKAY SO i actually thought about this one like when the whole StrangePath ship was just getting started and like…I really like Kaecillius/Cal Roberts?? I haven’t watched all of The Path yet, but from what everyone keeps screaming about on tumblr about Cal, I feel like Kaecillius would create a huge conundrum for Cal - the ability to manipulate time and space? With Cal’s magnetic personality? jesu christo, that would be a nightmareeeeeee that i would pay to see :DDD 

Now, Will & Kaecillius would be really interesting to see, too. When I first watched Kaecillius, the character screamed terrible loss. I’m not sure if they clarify who/what he lost before he came to the Ancient One –I’m thinking they do, but HEY what if Kaecillius is the result of Hannibal traveling and happening on the Ancient One and her teachings, and the only reason he starts learning the Mystic Arts is to turn back time/create a dimension where Will lived? Like…that is where my brain jumped to when Mads was delivering that amazing speech whilst trussed up like a turkey.
