Smite Pantheons

Made a version of this list three years ago. Since then more pantheons have been added, some of my previous picks have been added, and I have learned about new gods. So here is an updated list.

Noragami theory?

I see a lot in the theory that Yato is Tsukuyomi, but if we’re going with the theory that “Father” is Izanagi, it would fit that Yato is Kagu-tsuchi, who kills his mom when he’s born. Izanagi does actually cut off Kagu-tsuchi’s head when this happens. 

It would make sense that none of the other gods know Yato, or are confused about the missing moon god. You would think that a god as major as a the moon god would be sought after if he were to disappear. On the other hand, no one would think that Kagu-tsuchi would be reincarnated, because his body apparently gets divided into a bunch of volcanos. But if that were his old body and his new one got resurrected...?

Also, after Kagu-tsuchi is born Izanami gives birth right before she dies to the water god Mizuhame, telling him to pacify Kagu-tsuchi if he turns violent. And Hiki is a water spirit, at the very least.
