It's kinda wild how many insane rich lesbians there are in Pokemon. Erika was a relatively tame start, a narcoleptic ojou-sama lady magnet, but then Gen 2 gave us Claire and all bets were off. Hoenn was briefly safe until ORAS brought us bisexual menace Courtney, Sinnoh has the nightmarishly powerful Cynthia, as well as a preview into Caitlin, who would take the role in Black and White and BW2, joined of course by Cynthia. There's also Skyla, who launches you repeatedly into walls, but her wealth isn't particularly notable and her sexuality is under scrutinous "debate." Then Kalos gave us a double dose in our first foray with Valerie and Malva, not to mention Jacinthe recently. Alola gave us the relatively tame Kahili, and Hisui the enigmatic Cogita. Galar's local rich sapphic Nessa is pretty normal tbf, but then Paldea gave us the battle obsessed lesbian icon that is Nemona. It's an honesr to god pattern at this point.

And now, this match has our first instance of two members of the same league going up against each other! Who from Alola will be taking home this win?

In one corner is the one of a kind Olivia! One of a kind because she's the only Rock type trainer we'll be seeing in this tournament, no other Elite Four member specialises in the type. With her Lycanroc by her side though, she shows off just how tough the Rock type can be! Like Hala, Olivia is also a Kahuna alongside her Elite Four duties, looking over Akala Island. And on said island is her other responsibility, her own jewellery store! Not content to just train rocks, she sells them too, and she's admired across the island for her many skills. Clearly a woman of many talents- but modest herself- can she also claim victory here?

Up against Olivia is Kahili! Players of Sun and Moon were perhaps initially surprised at her appearance in the league, as she's the only member of the Alola League who doesn't appear as part of the main story prior to her battle. That being said though, she's still got connections to the rest of the Alola region, being the daughter of the owner of the illustrious Hano Grand Resort! In her day job, Kahili is a golfer, with her club having the colours of her ace Pokémon's beak- Toucannon! That's right, Kahili is a Flying type specialist- the only one to not also be a Gym Leader in fact. Her type of choice may be a reference to the language used in golf- birdie, eagle, albatross, and condor all being words used to describe particular scores in the game. She may not get as much screen time as her opponent, but did she still make enough impact to win?
