tag game: 5 songs
rules: when you get this, list five (5) songs you like to listen to!
okay! i’ll start with “And July,” the collaboration between Heize and Dean released in 2016 (though it’s also an album I’d love to own… unfortunately, it’s way too expensive even used, so I’ll just have to settle for listening to it on YouTube lol). And July is, i think, my favorite song in all of kpop. i can’t get enough of it, and i come back to it often every year, it’s like an anthem for summer or happy times.
next up, “Do It!” (香訓) by Giriboy from his album Sexual Perceptions (i ordered it and am eagerly awaiting its arrival! it’s my favorite Giriboy album!). right now i’m listening to “Do It!” a lot because i heard it on Show Me the Money 3 during his All Pass round and really loved his performance. it’s totally my kind of music.
another song i’m listening to a lot is “Disillusioned” by Daniel Caesar. it’s the song i started my public health internship with, so i associate it with that period of my life and with my colleagues and internship supervisor lol. they’re not crazy memories, but it’s something! i’m listening to it a lot right now because it’s mellow, and the end of the song is, in my opinion, addictive.
the second-to-last song i’d like to share is “Losing You” by Solange. i discovered it not too long ago, like 2 or 3 days ago lol, by clicking on a remix of this song and “Everything’s Embarrassing” by Sky Ferreira. i really liked it, so i was curious to check out “Losing You” without the production from “Everything’s Embarrassing,” and i totally fell for Solange’s style!
also, i’ve been listening to KAIIT’s “OG Luv Kush p.2” for so long now, and i just can’t get enough of it! i love what KAIIT says about a guy she doesn’t want to see anymore, it’s just so real! plus, the lyrics stick in your head easily, like “i feel like i’m your mama, cause it's so damn hard just to please you,” “i got no more OG Love Kush for you, bo boo,” and “and your, and your, and your breath smell like doo doo”, i sing them at the top of my lungs lol.
