the gaara retrival arc is really held back by being a reintroduction to the series, like needing to tell us who these people are, actually introducing the akasuki. the hidan and kakuzo arc was 17 episodes of pure ''aight we know who everyone here is, oh fuck they have some cool powers, the scars of loss, train to overcome the privous generation, VENGANCE'' the gaara arc is like ''aight remember who sasuke is and why naruto is such a cry baby'' ''oh btw these guys are bad but don't worry about that right now'' ''poor naruto for being a special containment unit'' i'm totally not biased twowards the arc that actually delivered hidan on screen, and saw shikamaru grow a personality, nono
