"Ugh..." you groaned trying to sit up.
"Prefect your up!" Ace and Deuce yelped in unison.
"What happened?" you asked trying to recollect yourself.
"Ace messed up another potion." Deuce said pointing at Ace accusingly.
"Oi it's your fault you didn't stop me!" Ace snaped back.
"If Jamil hadn't pushed her out of the way who knows what would have happened!" the two continued arguing until you noticed a pile of fabric moving closer to you.
You pulled the lump closer to you and removed some of the fabric and found a tiny version of Jamil inside. He blinked at you and rubbed his eyes.
You tried to get Ace and Deuce's attention but it was to late Crewel was back and the two had been punished for not paying attention and for getting you hurt and during their lecture Crewel dismiss you not noticing the bundle you were holding.
As you walked back to Ramshackle on the phone with Kalim explaining the situation as Jamil slept in your arms.
"Ah I understand Prefect, don't worry the dorm will be fine for a few hours! I'm sure he'll be back to normal soon I'll see you then Y/n!" you got off the phone and sighed Jamil would have a lot to do after he turned back.
When you got back to Ramshackle you sighed and sat Jamil on the couch, "Stay right here I'll be right back." then you went off to find something for him to wear until he goes back to normal.
You came back and you smiled as you watched him play with his hair waiting for you.
"Aren't you adorable." you chuckled sitting down rubbing the wet rag you had grabbed and wiped the remaining goo off his face, he was still stone faced after that and when you got him into new clothes.
"Quite." you thought as you took him to the kitchen, fed him, then headed back to the living room and played games but he hadn't made a single facial expression. Heck he didn't even cry when he ran into the coffee table and got a bruise on his arm.
You smirked as an idea came to you and you scooped Jamil up, to this you started tickling him until he couldn't contain himself any longer and burst into laughter, you started laughing too.
He was too cute for his own good sometimes you wished he would be this soft and open with you in his normal form but alas you still loved him to bits.
Hours went by as you played tickle chase with Jamil and you were honestly glad Kalim let you take care of him.
Soon the day drew to a close as the sun set and you got ready for bed Jamil already in bed waiting for you.
"Good night." you yawned, you were about to make your way down stairs when you felt a weight on your leg. You glanced down and saw Jamil clinging to your leg. You sighed, "Alright, alright I'll stay."
Jamil smiled and made grabby hands, you picked him up and slipped into bed.

Jamil was gone when you woke up and you nearly had a panic attack if you hadn't seen a note that said that Jamil would be back with one of your favorite dishes he would always prepare for you and that he would treat you to something for helping him.
You smiled thankful that he wasn't hurt and glad that he was back to normal and you fell back asleep from the exhaustion of the early morning adrenaline.
When Jamil got back he found you asleep and he smirked you needed the rest. He set the bags on your nightstand and gently held your hand and laid a kiss on your knuckles. "Thank you for helping me." Then he thought maybe he shouldn't have pushed you he would have loved seeing you when you were a child.
Summary: It was Kalim's idea to have a picnic and you were more than excited for it. However, a wrench is thrown in your plans...

Kalim and you planned it well in advance. It was your suggestion anyways, to picnic together during summer break. You thought it would be super romantic, and Kalim agreed. You found the perfect place to have it on the palace grounds, and Kalim helped you make the food. The picnic basket was piled with sandwiches, fresh fruit cut into fun shapes, chips, cheese, crackers, vegetables with hummus, and brownies. You also made sure to pack plates, cups, napkins, and two thermoses, one full of lemonade and the other full of water.
"We have a whole basket to feed an army." You mused as Kalim folded up the picnic blanket the two of you would be sitting on. "Are you sure we'll be able to eat this all for one meal?"
He giggles and nods. "I'm sure. I have a bottomless stomach, especially when it comes to the food you make!"
You giggle. “You got that right. Besides, even if we don't finish it, we can save the leftovers for later in the week. And then we can reminisce about the picnic we shared."
"You're such a romantic." He chuckles, his smile as bright as the summer sun. "But that's one of the many reasons I love you."
"Love you too." You shoot back, before once again going over what's in the basket. You don’t want to leave anything behind if you can help it. "You don't think we need to bring more, do you? I can quickly whip up some potato salad, or tuna salad, or maybe macaroni salad..."
He laughs as he hugs you from behind. "The basket is already overflowing as it is. Besides, if we need any more food, we can ask the servants to bring it out. Does that sound like a plan?"
You purse your lips at his words. “I thought this picnic was just going to be the two of us. Are you saying that your servants will be there with us?”
“Well, I mean, they’re always around. So I just assumed they would be there.” He shrugs before noticing your frown. “Is that okay? Or do you want me to try and scare them off? I’m sure Jamil can keep them away so it’s just the two of us.”
With a small smile, you nod. “I would appreciate it if you could get Jamil to clear everyone out. That would be wonderful. I want to enjoy a picnic with just you and only you. And if you think we still need protection, then Jamil can stay.”
Kalim nods. “Sounds like a good idea. Okay, final check to make sure we have everything for our special picnic!”
You nod before scurrying around, making sure you’re not forgetting a single thing. You had food, utensils, a blanket, sunscreen, and a basket to hold everything. Despite everything you had for the perfect picnic, you couldn’t help but feel like you were missing something very important.
When your mouth opened to tell Kalim this, he simply shook his head and laughed. “I promise you, we are not forgetting anything important. So relax, okay? Everything is going to be just fine, alright? We’re going to have the best picnic ever! I promise!”
You let out a little sigh before nodding once more. “Alright, I trust you. But if we are forgetting something, we make Jamil go get it.”
“Sounds like a plan!” He laughs.
As you grab the blanket, the two of you head for the door. When he opens it, your jaw drops and the picnic basket drops to the ground with a thud.
It’s raining cats and dogs out there.
There’s a brief moment of silence shared between the two of you, before you slowly turn to face Kalim. Your mouth opens and closes a couple of times before you finally poke his shoulder. “This is the last time I will ever trust you for anything!”
He shakes his head in disbelief, before holding his hands up in surrender. “I didn’t know it was raining! I mean, it hardly ever rains in Scalding Sands! Did you know it was supposed to rain?”
You shake your head before giving a soft groan. “No, but I’m sure Jamil would have known. This must have been the important thing we forgot. Neither of us checked the forecast! This is a complete disaster! I should have known better!”
At the sound of your distress, Kalim’s hands cup your cheeks and he gives you a look of determination. “No. It’s not a disaster, my desert flower. We can still have a picnic together. It’s just going to look a little different than what we planned, that’s all. It’ll still be fun, I promise.”
You give a small sniff. “You promise?”
He makes an X over his heart as he nods. “Cross my heart and everything. You just have to trust me, okay? I promise to still make this special.”
When you nod, he takes your hand and leads you into one of the grand rooms in the palace. He then begins to direct you into getting all of the cushions, chairs, and blankets you can find. The two of you then begin to construct a blanket fort built for two, full of comfort and pretty fairy lights that he borrows from one of his sisters. You then snag the basket that you left by the front door. Taking the picnic blanket, you spread it out on the floor and set up all the food as Kalim picks a movie for you both to watch.
The two of you get comfortable together inside the fort and he slings his arm around your shoulder before smiling at you. “Ready?”
You nod. “Ready.”
The movie begins and the two of you enjoy your little indoor picnic. In all honesty, as the movie plays and you cuddle against your boyfriend, you realize this was a better idea than being outside to eat. An outdoor picnic means bugs getting into the food and the heat being a hassle. This was much easier and much more relaxing than a normal picnic. Even so, you were still a little disappointed your plans didn’t quite work out the way you thought they would. Even if being outside was a little less fun, it would have been worth it because it was with Kalim. Still, he was with you now, so you didn’t have much room to complain. So you kept your thoughts to yourself.
As the movie comes to an end, you let out a little yawn, prompting Kalim to pause the credits. “Are you falling asleep on me already?”
You nod, snuggling closer to him. “I blame the rain. It’s dark out and the sound of the rain is soft and soothing.”
He chuckles as he pulls you closer. “You know, I’m sorry we didn’t get to have that picnic that you wanted. I know how much you were looking forward to it. Especially since it would be just the two of us alone, with no servants bothering us. But I promise, we’ll have a picnic outside someday. We’ll just have to remember to check the weather before we go, okay?”
Again, you nod, your eyes beginning to slip close. “Sorry I didn’t check before today. I should have known better.”
“You don’t have to apologize, my desert flower. I should have checked with Jamil or any of the other servants first.” He gives a small shrug, so as not to disturb you too much with your head on his shoulder. “But you have to admit, this was still fun. Any chance I get to spend time with you is more than enough for me.”
“I did have fun today.” You admit. “It may not have been exactly what we envisioned, but it was still fun. And the fort was a great idea.”
“Well, I just thought if we can’t be outside, we might as well still try to make it different than just eating inside.”
“It was and it’s super comfy too.” You glance up at the fairy lights and the blankets above your heads. “We should keep it up a little while longer.”
He chuckles. “Do you want to sleep here tonight?”
You look at him with a smile as you nod. “Yes, we should. That would be fun too! We can bring out blankets from your bedroom to make the ground even softer to sleep on. How does that sound?”
“And then we have less distance to travel for breakfast tomorrow.”
The two of you laugh before you press a kiss to the bottom of his jaw. “Thank you for doing this, Kalim. I love you.”

i think mutual pining with kalim would be a lot of "its obvious to everyone but them" action. kalim, when he loves you, would spoil you rotten with jewels and gold and textiles and even animals that you can't even begin to take care of. oh, you cant take care of them? he'll give you the funds to make sure you can!!

on your end, since you don't have a lot of money, it might be smaller actions like bringing him water or snacks or studying with him (WHICH HE LOVES BTW) but he appreciates it all the same! he knows hes not the brightest when it comes to academics so having you there to cheer him on and not get frustrated with him means more than you know.
you're a thorn in jamil's side too, just so you know. your presence regularly stops kalim from completing some of his housewarden duties, although if jamil can use you as an incentive that general works in his favor. he's started telling kalim he can only throw a party for you if he finishes up all of his work, which gets kalim cheerfully writing away.

Lifting his head, you brought his lips to yours for a brief kiss. As you pulled back you were greeted with the bright smile of Kalim. Rubbing your nose against his, you mumbled your words for only his ears to hear.

Jamil sighed in content, his head resting on your shoulder as your hands ran through his hair--untangling all the knots from the day's shenanigans. Your fingers worked magic, barely pulling at his hair to hurt him yet hard enough to get the knots out.

Anytime you gift him ANYTHING he suddenly goes from a big ball of sunshine who’s practically bouncing off the walls to, a blushy mess of a ball of sunshine. It’s really quite cute to see, how he gets all flustered when you have him a cake you made. The cake could even be burnt and he’ll still devour it in a heartbeat. Same with any item you give him, it could be some broken glass you strung together to make a sorta wind chime and he’ll be like “this is my prized possession. Anything that resembles a very domestic life will get Sebek stammering and blushing EASY. You just doing your laundry and Sebek is hanging around ramshackle dorm with you? Oh good lord, he’s blushing all day for no reason. You’re both cooking something in the school kitchen cause you snuck in (actually you forced him to and he’s there against his will. He totally didn’t go along easily with your plan.) he’s blushing while cutting vegetables. For no reason. Please oh please make fun of him, it’s actually kinda funny hehe. But either way just the incredibly simple things will get Sebek flustered.

Sebek isn’t by any means codependent, he’s very capable on his own. But he just finds people who are very independent, headstrong, and who can easily stand up for themselves to be so… attractive. -When Mc tells them about their career and how they're famous at ______ Kingdom and are royal and famous for it(or smth idk anymore), Kalim gets excited and starts asking questions right away as Jamil is just processing what he has been told...but as soon as he warms up he can't help but praise MC and feel pride that both of his lovers as great people willing to take care of him like this...
-When they get there MC has her own space in the castle, which means Kalim and Jamil was able to meet her family when the two realized they immediately got nervous but that soon dies down when Mc's mother saw them and hugged Jamil and Kalim calling them her Son in-laws, the two had a good conversation with Mc's parents and their father even calling the two "son"
-After meeting Mc's parents, Mc then led them to their room to settle down before looking around the castle and exploring the kingdom
-For the 3 Days you three have been there Mc has spoiled them with affection, love, wealth, and most surprises, Jamil and Kalim never get less shocked after and before each surprise...Mc couldn't help but smile seeing their lover's faces after each fancy dinner or present or the smell of Roses when Mc makes them bathe together as they'd hug each other in the bath
-The last night there are there they spent cuddling and just talking with each other, talking about the experiences and showing pictures...that Mc secretly posted...Ahem Ahem bragging of her Lovers, they snuggle up with each other feeling the warmth of each other's bodies and slowly fell asleep with them having smiles on their faces.
