“A goodnight kiss,” you demand, as if it was written somewhere in law and the night itself will refuse to end without it. You are already curled into your bed, voice softened by sleep waiting just at the edge, phone pressed warm against your ear.
On the other end, Sebek goes completely, catastrophically still before his reaction arrives all at once—a spluttered protest followed by the immediate and indignant rejection of a man whose dignity has just been ambushed.
“A kiss?! Through the phone?! What kind of nonsensical—absolutely not! Such frivolous behaviour is entirely unnecessary before rest!” His voice rises, then stumbles, then rises again, each word trying and failing to restore order to something that has already unravelled him.
You hum, unimpressed, rolling onto your side as if his outrage is just background noise to something far more important. “Why not?” you ask, simple and devastating in its sincerity, the kind of question that does not argue but quietly dismantles Sebek's guard.
There is a pause on the line—longer than usual, heavier than it should be—and when he exhales, it is no longer thunderous but restrained, like pride being folded down into something he can carry. “Because—because it is improper,” he insists, though the conviction flickers. Another second pause accompanied by almost begrudgingly thoughtful, “And… insufficient.”
The silence that follows is different now, charged with something he does not name. You can almost hear the shift—the way his posture changes even without seeing it, the way decision settles into him like a cloak being fastened into place.
When he speaks again, the change is almost imperceptible, but it settles into you all the same—his voice smoothing, certainty threading through it in a way that feels far too intimate for something as simple as a call. “… Fine.”
The word lands like a decision already lived through. He is picturing you exactly where you are—curled, waiting, already half his to reach. “Stay where you are,” he adds, softer now, the command slipping into something dangerously close to care, like he is placing you somewhere in his mind and refusing to let the world rearrange you.
“I’ll be there in five.”

Do you understand? When I am done telling you these stories, when you're done listening to these stories, I am no longer I, and you are no longer you. In this afternoon we briefly merged into one. After this, you will always carry a bit of me, and I will always carry a bit of you, even if we both forget this conversation. — hao jingfang, invisible planets
SEBEK
Even while lying on a hospital bed, you look pretty. But there’s so much crying, Sebek thinks to himself crankily, glaring at the oblivious first-years waiting for you to wake up, as if this is the first time they’ve ever seen the Ramshackle prefect in this situation. Please, Sevens help them if they dare get their snot all over you. If he could have decorum enough to not think aloud in the infirmary room, Deuce could certainly keep his sobbing far away from your bed.
It’s not only the real first-years, but especially Grim, resting on top of your stomach, who earns the half-fae’s stinky eye. It gets on his nerves, after all, the reason why you were lying in that Sevens-forsaken room in the first place was that tiny beast purring on top of your stomach.
Trying to break a fight between Grim and another student, you shielded him from a certainly more powerful-than-usual Unique Magic, strong enough that it knocked out your human body unconscious. When he heard the news, Sebek made sure the Headmage punished that insolent human that dared to hurt his friend.
Still, as his housewarden, taking care of Grim is technically your responsibility. Being in this school and interacting with other dorms besides Diasomnia, he is aware that not every housewarden is like his young master: mighty and powerful yet compassionate, thoughtful, and caring. And despite not getting along that well with the little beast -the same one that forbids him from sitting next to you in every class you share- he gets it. You are doing more than well enough for yourself, and Sebek has to admit that despite being a human, despite every other circumstance you’ve faced, you carry yourself delightfully. It’s very admirable. And… diligent of you.
Sebek sighs into his hands. Who was he kidding? Things started to change inside of him as soon as he unwittingly stopped referring to you as just a human. Everything he learned about you these past few months was so lovely that it made his pale cheeks fill with a rosy blush– your conduct was so respectable and knight-like! He shouldn’t be ashamed of openly admiring it! So why was it so hard to do? Why couldn’t he come out and just say it, like he always does with everything else in his life?
Is it… because you’re a human? Sebek shakes his head at the thought. Lilia-sama would be disappointed in him if that were the case, and he knows it isn’t. For him, you haven’t been included in that category for a long time. Then why was he so reluctant? What was this uncomfortable feeling gripping his chest and confusing him so?
“Hey, man, if you keep making that face it will get stuck that way.”
“Leave him alone, Ace.” Deuce sits up, his eyes puffy despite how much he’ll deny it. “You don’t look much better.”
“Me? Have you seen him? How can I leave the guy alone?”
It takes Ace idly putting his hands on Sebek’s shoulder for him to realize that they were talking about him.
Immediately he frowns. Ace smiles back. “Sebek, I’m feeling generous tonight. Our friend here has inspired me to be a better person… just for one night, though. Penny for your thoughts?”
“No way, this guy can’t keep his volume in check. The hench-human is sleeping, so no yellin’ for you! Which means no talking in general!”
Sebek shakes off Ace’s touch, “Would all of you—! Shut up. You’re interrupting my thinking and the prefect’s rest already with all this… stupidity. If you’ve had enough, leave these premises at once!”
“Figure it out yourself then, jeez.” Ace tsks. “Well, Riddle-senpai will have our heads if we don’t leave now anyways, so we’ll leave it to you.”
It takes some more convincing until they can get Grim’s grabby self off you to let you rest, some whisper-yelling and threats that make Sebek wonder how you didn’t get up after all this noise, but finally all of them get up to leave, trusting the Diasomnia dorm member to take care of you (something they know he’s been doing for months, now). That is, until they hear a small voice coming from the half-fae right when they’re one step away from the door.
“Say,” Sebek scowls, looking frustrated as always, yet somehow… small. “Has the prefect ever talked to you guys… about me… No, never mind, you’ll be no help!”
Deuce gasps. Ace grins as he drags a shocked Deuce and Grim out of the room. “Guess you’ll have to ask them about it yourself~”
Sebek huffs again. It’s been about twenty minutes since the other boys left your infirmary room, and now you are both alone. He keeps staring holes into your face– the curve of your cheeks, your lips– staring as if they have either offended him and his entire lineage or hold all the answers he so desperately needs at this moment.
Maybe feeling watched even in your unconscious state, your eyelashes begin to flutter, slowly allowing your eyes to open.
Not even a few seconds later, you hear a familiar voice resounding in your ears.
“Prefect! How are you feeling?”
“…? Sebek?” you slowly rub your eyes, your voice a little raspy. “I’m… fine. Is this the nurse’s room?”
“Prefect, you’re even aware of your surroundings after being concussed! Yes, you were brought here after a heroic act, I must add– defending your dorm member’s honour against another student. Don’t worry, I made sure the fool who tried to harm you and the little beast got what he deserved. Speaking of which, Grim’s fine…” Sebek sighs your name. “Even if you are a righteous, dutiful human, you are still a weakling. But do not fear– as Malleus-sama’s retainer, I made sure to guard your stay in this room! No one would even think of walking in with malicious intent! Feel honoured! I will not repeat such kindness, because in the future I will simply not allow this situation to happen again. My heart will not permit it.”
“I have been confused about this for far too long. My afternoon training, which starts at exactly 16:00, has been postponed until this matter is cleared up, and I am afraid you have all the answers to my questions!” he continues, his heart racing a million miles per hour, almost as fast as his mouth. Once he begins, it all just comes pouring out of him. “Pay attention now! I cannot stand seeing you get hurt. I admire that you put yourself at risk for your companion, even though it pains me that you chose to do so! If anything, the first thought on your mind should have been to call me for help! I missed my training to care for you– unasked! Unprompted! Never mind, Prefect, I have figured it all out. Saying all of this out loud makes it very clear. I think I might be in some kind of– no, positively– I am in love with you!”
“What? Slow down, Sebek, what are you talking about?”
“–And I will not hide it. Unlike your kind, I do not know how to. I don’t wish to learn either! Please allow me your hand!”
You don’t have the heart to scold him for yelling in the nurse’s room, even if you feel an incoming headache pounding in your head, your mind is not clear enough to understand half of his rant. He was talking about his feelings, wasn’t he? Did he mention righteousness, and confusion, and– and… what was that last part?
He takes your hand lying on the sheets carefully, so gently you can barely believe it is Sebek who is holding it.
“…I apologize. You are not included in that– your kind is not really… you. You are not like them. I have grown too fond of you not to notice.”
Gently, he leans closer and places your hand over his beating chest.
“I have not an ounce of doubt about my feelings for you. I am in love with you, Prefect. Would you allow me the right to your response?”
“His voice stumbled. “I’ve got it so bad for you (…) Really” –he blew out a breath– “really bad. I tried to keep you out of here.” He knocked his free fist against his chest. “But you won’t go. You’re never going to go. You just won’t.” — tessa bailey, hook, line, and sinker
JACK
It happened during practice with the Spelldrive team. It wasn’t strange for Jack to get hit with another student’s Unique Magic while playing, but his condition wasn’t the best that day, and something about that last hit made him feel feverishly weak. His broom fell on top of him on the ground, and as he slurred his words, pain shot up his spine.
“Hey, Jack. You okay?”
“Yeah, sorry, Ruggie-senpai. I got distracted… I’m not feeling that well–”
What was happening to him? His breathing comes out strained-everything too vivid, too loud. Even the sound of leaves crunching beneath your feet as you run toward him feels deafening. The entire world spins around him. Crunch, crunch, crunch.
Stop. “Jack! Is everything okay?!”
He feels hot all over, even when his upperclassmen kneel to help him get up, everything feels boiling hot and nauseating, and Sevens, he’s about to pass out. “Prefect, listen, I-I think I… in love… with you…” cough.
And then he drops. Unconscious.
Here's the thing, Jack knows you. He knows you like the back of his hand, way better than the Heartslabyul pups think they do.
He may not understand the big deal about romance. But he understands you– like the way you look when he gives you piggyback rides back to Ramshackle; he knows the look you give him when you think he’s not paying attention, he notices every little movement of your hands, your fingers tickling him as you weave them through his hair and up his fluffy ears, so gentle and so unlike how you act with the rest of your friend group.
Maybe if it were someone else, he wouldn’t have really noticed. Jack has a routine set: wake up, take a walk with Vil-senpai, go to school, and train. He hardly acknowledges anything outside of that, but you– he just can’t get you out of his head. Whether you’re in trouble, whether you’re happy, whether you’re studying, who you’re with, and why it isn’t him.
He gets so googly-eyed and distracted in his daily life that it eventually reaches the point where even Leona– his usually uninterested housewarden– tries to talk to him about it.
“Oi, quit it. You’re like a nervous puppy waiting to go out to poo. Tch, you’re interrupting my sleep.”
“I-I'm sorry, Leona-senpai. I'll get out of your hair.”
“Is that all you got to say to me?” he yawns, one of his eyes half open. “So troublesome for no reason. Fine, then. Good luck to you and the herbivore.”
“Herbivore? What– good luck?”
It’s a second too late. Leona is already asleep, his tail gone still as Morpheus welcomes him into his realm. But Jack already had his doubts about you, and the moment the lazy lion actually asks him about it, confusingly enough, makes him realize something that has heat rushing to his face.
Apparently, despite how much he claims to be the one that knows you best, he was the only one left out of the loop on this. So a week after that conversation, when he gets even the slightest chance at vulnerability– even if it comes in the form of magically getting knocked the fuck out by some other student– then of course his own heart and mouth would betray him and his perfectly proper, carefully thought out plan to confess to you, and instead he just spills everything before promptly passing out.
Which was okay. Totally fine. Not like he’s embarrassed or anything! He’s not avoiding you either, no matter what that idiot Ace says. He just happens to remember a chore so incredibly important every single time you’re within a 29,838 mile radius! It’s not Jack’s fault your timing isn’t the best, okay?
But even that gets to a point. And you’ve had enough.
Once you’ve talked to Ruggie (in exchange for sacrificing one Tuesday filled with doing Leona’s laundry), you finally corner Jack just when he’s about to leave for Spelldrive practice.
It’s a wonder how he doesn't sniff you, probably too preocupied literally sneaking out, because he actually squeals when you cage his large build with your arms against a wall. “Jack!”
“You– what are you doing here?! Who let you in– do you know how late it is– no, how dangerous it is for you to be out here!”
“You know why I’m here. We need to talk.”
“No,” he stutters, crossing his arms over his chest. “I have nothing to say to you. There’s nothing for us to talk about, especially not when I’m already running late for practice–”
The sun is barely up. It’s at least two hours until he absolutely has to get to the sports club. From the way his tail flicks nervously at his sides, Jack knows this too.
You sigh patiently. “…Jack, that night, you said something to me that only you and I heard. I want to ask you if you really meant it.”
“We were not the only ones who heard it! Adeuce are getting a kick out of this behind my back and right in front of me– w-wait, no, forget I said that. It’s just… well, you know…”
“Hey.” Looking at him, you slowly, gently take hold of his hand, giving him time to back out if he wanted to. Gaining a little confidence when all he does is blush, you continue. “I’m not upset about what you said that night. Why else would I be looking for you everywhere? I just need to know if it was, I don’t know, some kind of secondary effect of that Unique Magic, or if you were mistaking me for someone else– God, I hope not– but you just disappeared, and I don’t know what to think anymore, Jack. So I need you to explain things to me.”
Jack takes one long look at you– tired, hopeful– and if his heart wasn’t racing before, now it’s going a hundred miles an hour.
Is this.. it?
He can’t stand that look on your face anymore. Fine. It’s done already– he’s screwed up once, and you’re clearly not willing to just let this whole thing pass. Sighing, he confesses, properly this time.
“Prefect, what you heard was real, it wasn’t some secondary effect of anything… I mean, I wouldn’t have said it that way if I’d been in my right mind, because I didn’t mean to screw it up like that… but everything I said was real. I think I’m in love with you.”
He almost misses it; the urge to squeeze his eyes shut and escape the situation is too strong. But Jack’s glad he forces himself through it, because what he gets in return is the brightest grin he’s ever seen on you. It’s blinding, and so charming that, like a dumbass, he finds himself wondering if your smile could rival the rising sun.
“You know, I think I love you too.”
There’s a sudden breeze somewhere near your knees, and it only takes one look at Jack to know where it’s coming from. You giggle as his tail starts wagging even faster.
“It’s not like I was looking for an answer so soon, you know…”
“Oh, I’ll understand if you need more time to process this, then.”
“No, absolutely not! You can’t take it back now! Where’s your integrity? Honestly, making me say all of this…”
That makes you laugh. Jack focuses on the curve of your smile, vulnerable with a happiness that’s contagious, and he squeezes your hand.
“Let me walk you back to your dorm. We can talk on the way.”
“What happens when people open their hearts?” Reiko clasped her hands together on the table, cigarette dangling from her lips. She was enjoying this. “They get better,” she said. — haruki murakami, norwegian woods
RUGGIE
“Sorry guys, a clingy and feverish asshole is faking his death on my lap right now. Let’s hang out once I’ve convinced him that a cold doesn’t mean he’s dying.”
Ruggie listens attentively to the sounds of despair your little freshman friends whine over the phone and laughs when you hang up, shyeheehee~
He smiles contentedly. It’s been a while since Ruggie let anyone touch his head– specifically his fluffy hair and ears. The kids back home are never as gentle as you are, always tugging and biting at him, but even that sort of affection was welcome. Ruggie doesn’t realize how much he misses it until one night he goes straight to your dorm after a long shift, tired and grumpy, flopping down on your lap as he lets you caress him, not realizing what he’s doing until an unconscious purr rumbles from deep within him.
His ears still turn red when he remembers how you laughed at the sight.
He thinks about it now, with your hands threading through his hair. You’re lovely. Putting your phone down and keeping him entertained, unaware of the thoughts running through his mind. So honest and sincere even while making excuses for him– such a weirdo, like he deserves any of your attention. Haah, he’s got a lot to teach you, you have a long way to go before you’re ready to come back home with him.
Cough–
He catches himself, eyes widening as you stop running your hands through his hair, confused.
“You okay?”
But– no way, that’s impossible. And you were… you. He would have to protect you, and he already has enough people to protect, but he can't just leave you be, at least until you find your way around that bunch of shacks, but hey, now that he thinks about it…
“Ruggie?”
…He likes the idea, doesn’t he?
“Shyeheehee, hey, listen here, prefect.”
“No, I won’t go to the cafeteria to stand in line again. Leona should give us at least one afternoon off for you being sick.”
Us. Ruggie’ll never admit the way his stomach flips at your words. Since when did you two become a package deal?
Internally shaking in his boots, he pretends to roll his eyes. “Yeah, yeah. It ain’t that.”
“…This isn’t about his dinner?”
“Nope. And how do you know his schedule, anyway?”
“Please, like it doesn’t make your life easier.”
He chuckles, cheeks burning with affection.
It’s a warm afternoon outside. Not quite summer, but getting there. The perfect weather for a hyena back home, where it’s nothing but the scorching sun and a stench of heat that follows him everywhere in the slums. This is nice in comparison, a kind of peace and scenery he didn’t get to experience much. Not in Sunset Savanna, not even at NRC. Constantly juggling part-time jobs, being the attendant of a prince– even if it benefits him– not once did he stop to think, hey, maybe I’d enjoy honoring my ancestors and laze around beneath the sun for a bit.
He would’ve kept his hectic daily life if you hadn’t happened. If you hadn’t shown up in his life and fought against his own reasoning just to stay with him like this– under the same sky, sharing the same breaths.
His heart clenches at the thought that one day he might not have this anymore.
“Prefect, y’know, I ain’t really that sick. Not showing up for dinner? Come on, it’s not like I’m kicking the bucket over a cold– who d’ya think I am?”
“…I know.”
But you start touching him again, your hands reaching every last strand of his hair, from his crown to his nape with gentle caresses. Ruggie feels himself purr, and this time, he doesn’t make an effort to stop it.
He looks up at you. You’re beautiful, and weird, and he gets the sudden urge to feed you. His hand squeezes lightly, unwittingly, against yours where it rests in his hair. He wants to kiss you; wants to hear you gasp in surprise against his mouth before smiling, kissing him back like he knows you will. The thought doesn’t shock him anymore. How did he not think of this before?
He wants to rest with you until he can’t anymore.
“I think I might be in some kind of love with you.”
He pauses, staring at the curve of your eyes, your nose, down to your lips. So lovable. So real. So sincere beside him.
“I-idiot,” you stutter, punching his shoulder. “Did it take you this long to figure it out? Aren’t you supposed to be the quick-witted one? Fuck, then I might be in love with you too.”
Ruggie laughs, a surprised shyeheehee bursting out of his mouth, then cuddles closer in your lap.
There’s so much to consider. So many things he has yet to plan, so many steps to becoming a man worthy of your love, your care. Well, it never really mattered to him whether he deserved something or not. He was undeserving of most things in his life, after all.
But did he want you?
He laughs breathily against your thighs, his heart beating a million miles an hour.
Summary: Sebek has always admired you from afar. In his eyes, you are absolutely perfect. But he'd rather admire you than actually confess to you. That's why his friends decide to give him a little push...

It was the same thing everyday. Sebek would quickly scarf down his lunch and then sneak to the courtyard before his friends could stop him, all so he could see if you were still there. You could almost always be found under the big elm tree near the edge of the courtyard, reading or scrolling through your phone. To him, everything about you was breathtaking and ethereal. It was as if he was looking at a living painting.
Of course he would never tell you that. He didn’t want you to seem creepy, especially since you didn’t know him that well. Sure you sat not too far away from him in class, but that was it, and it’s not like you two talked to each other during or between classes. Besides, you were way out of his league anyways.
Today was no different, as he quickly finished his food and packed up to leave. His friends glanced over at him before snickering to themselves, making him frown.
“Where are you going, Sebek?” Ace asked innocently, though his teasing smile was far from it.
He shrugged, trying to play it cool. “I’ve got some school stuff to catch up on.”
“Oh yeah?” Epel replied. “What kind of schoolwork? I thought the great Sebek Zigvolt was never late with his schoolwork, no matter what the circumstances.”
Scowling, he hoped none of them could see his ears turn scarlet. “Yeah, well, I’m helping someone else catch up on their schoolwork.”
“And who might that be?” Jack called out as Sebek quickly scurried away.
Just because his crush was obvious on you, it didn’t mean that his friends needed to know. Sure they could probably guess it, but he wanted to preserve some scrap of pride. Besides, as long as one friend in particular didn’t know, then everything would be just fine. He can live his life in peace by simply admiring you from afar.
Glancing around the courtyard, he was relieved to see you still there, leaning against the tree, your eyes closed, and your hair swaying gently in the breeze. He felt his heart stutter in his chest and he couldn’t help but heave a small sigh in contentment. Yes, he was just fine with things remaining like this.
“So where’s the person you were helping?” A voice from behind him asked.
Sebek jumped only to glare when he realized who it was. “Ace! Don’t do that.”
Ace shrugged, a mirthful smile crossing his face. “Hey it’s not my fault you startle easily. But what we should be asking ourselves at the moment is why were you lying? Is it so you could go fawn over your lady love?”
“Don’t call her that.” He snapped. “She is just a friend.”
Nodding slowly, his friend said, “Right. A friend. A friend you never talk to and only stare at from across the courtyard. Gotcha.”
Trying to ignore the blush rising to his cheeks, he scoffed. “What do you want, Ace?”
“I want you to finally go over there and talk to her! You’ve been pining over her for the longest time! If you don’t shoot your shot soon, someone’s going to snatch her away right from under you!” Ace tried to explain to him.
Sebek sighed, looking away. “Perhaps. But maybe that’s for the best. I mean why would she go for a guy like me?”
“You never know. She might just surprise you.”
He shrugged. “Sure.”
Sighing, Ace was about to say something comforting to him, when he gasped. “Well, I didn’t see that coming.”
Looking at what his friend saw, Sebek's heart sank even more. The one friend, or rather “friend”, that he didn’t want to know about his crush on you was currently talking to you. Why, why, why did Sebek have to be friends with the school heartthrob, Silver? Why did he have to talk to you and steal you away from him? Even though he was devastated, he knew he should have seen this coming. You deserve to be with someone like him anyways. Silver may be a heartthrob, but he still had a heart of gold.
Heaving a heavy sigh, he couldn’t stop his shoulders from slumping. “See? She deserves to be with someone like Silver. He’ll take good care of her, I know he will. It’s fine.”
“Sebek!” Ace called out for him, but he didn’t listen.
Instead he went to class and spent the rest of the day in a fog. He couldn’t shake the sweet smile on your face as you talked to his friend who was smarter, funnier, kinder, and prettier than he could ever hope to be. Silver was your perfect match, not Sebek. It would be a whole lot better if he just forgot about the whole ordeal and you in general. But he wasn’t sure if his heart really would ache any less.
At the end of the day, he was slowly packing up to go back to the dorm. It was hard to be excited about the weekend when you have a broken heart. He couldn’t stop himself from heaving a dejected sigh as he stood up, trying to mentally prepare himself to face Silver as he introduces you as his new girlfriend.
He took a couple steps before bumping into someone. He supposed that’s what he deserves for not paying attention to where he was going. “Sorry.” He mumbled.
“It’s alright, Sebek, right?”
Wait a second…
Looking up, he internally groaned when he saw your all too familiar smile. Instead, he nodded, faking a small smile. “Yeah.”
Your smile grew and it made his heart flutter and his stomach plummet. “Right! I knew that! Silver mentioned you when he talked to me at lunch today!”
He didn’t think it was possible for his stomach to fall any further, but it must be at his feet by now. He suddenly didn’t feel very good. “Oh, I see. Is that what he was talking to you about?”
“You saw us?”
He shrugged, not ready to divulge his secret. “Yeah, I was passing by.”
Giving a tender smile, you replied by saying, “You should have come over and said hi.”
“I didn’t want to get in either of your guys’ way.”
You furrowed your brows. “What? What do you mean?”
It was his turn to become confused. “Wasn’t he asking you out?”
Instantly, you chuckled. “No. Silver just came over to ask me if there was someone I liked. I thought he was going to ask me on a date or something like that and I was all ready to turn him down, when he said he heard someone else liked me and was going to confess to me today.”
Really, it made sense to Sebek. Others would be crazy to not fall for your endless charms and perfection. His shoulders sagged slightly. “Oh. I see.”
You laughed. “Sebek, you’re so funny!”
He looked at you, even more perplexed than before. “What?”
“Silver said you were going to confess!”
His cheeks exploded with color and he tried not to choke on air, which he failed at considerably. When he managed to regain his breath, all he could stutter out was, “WHAT?”
You nodded. “Yeah. So he asked if I liked you back?”
He was afraid of your answer. “A-a-and?”
“I like you, Sebek.”
It felt as if all the air rushed out of his lungs. Out of all your answers, he was not expecting that one.
“Are, are you sure?” He stumbled over his words, causing him to curse himself out in his head.
You nodded again. “I’m pretty sure.” You chuckled before taking his hand in your own, almost causing him to die right then and there. “So do you like me too?”
“Of course I do.” He breathed, unable to trust his voice.
“Good. I’m glad to hear that.”
Smiling blissfully, he then gathered a scrap of courage to ask, “Do you want to go get some ice cream? With me?”
You beamed. “Of course!”
The two of you walked out of school, hand in hand. Of course, as soon as you left, Sebek's friends descended upon you both, asking a bunch of questions.
“So who asked out who first?”
“Did Sebek finally man up and admit his feelings?”
“Tell us everything and spare no detail!”
You laughed as Sebek blushed. “We asked each other out almost at the same time. It was cute! And we’re going to go get some ice cream, just the two of us. So we’ll see you all later.”
And with that, you led him away from his friends and towards the ice cream parlor not too far from the school. Sebek couldn’t help but stare at you in awe. He was impressed with how you managed to deal with his friends and if anything, he just fell in love with you more. “You’re amazing, you know that.”
Smiling brightly at him, you pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, making his cheeks turn pink. “You’re even more amazing.”
Sebek is incredibly loud. He has absolutely no poker face. His entire face turns bright red whenever you hold his hand or lean against his shoulder. He prefers practical actions over physical touch.

C = Cuddles (How do they cuddle?)
Cuddling with Sebek is like wrapping your arms around a muscular brick wall. He tenses up completely at first, terrified of crushing you. Once he relaxes, he will lock you in a firm, protective bear hug, burying his blushing face in your hair.
D = Dates (What are dates with them like?)
Dates are highly traditional and strictly scheduled. Expect intense outdoor activities like horseback riding, hiking up steep mountains, or picnics where he insists on tasting your food first to ensure it isn't poisoned.
E = Every day (What is a normal day like with them?)
Your daily routine is incredibly disciplined. He will march to your dorm every morning at dawn to walk you to class. He projects his voice so loudly that the entire hallway knows he is there to escort his "precious human partner."
F = Favorites (What is their favorite thing about you?)
Your honesty and your resilience. He deeply respects that you don't back down from his loud personality. He treasures the soft, quiet smiles you give him when he is trying his absolute best to understand human customs for your sake.
G = Gentle (Are they gentle? Personalities/Physicality)
He has to actively remind himself to be gentle because of his half-fae strength and booming voice. When he brushes a stray hair from your face, his giant hand shakes slightly from the sheer effort of being as soft as possible.
H = Hands (How do they hold hands?)
His hands are large, firm, and calloused from brutal training sessions. He grips your hand tightly—almost too tightly when he gets nervous. If you squeeze back, his ears turn bright red and he looks away to hide his massive grin.
I = "I love you" (How do they say it?)
He accidentally shouts it the first time during an argument about your safety. When he says it intentionally, he stands perfectly at attention, looks you straight in the eyes, and declares his eternal devotion like a knight swearing a sacred oath.
J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)
He gets incredibly loud and defensive. If another student flirts with you, Sebek will march over, tower over them, and bark orders about proper boundaries. He will then spend the next hour loudly listing his own achievements to prove his worth.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like?)
His kisses are sudden, firm, and full of nervous energy. He usually plants a swift, clumsy kiss on your cheek or forehead before clearing his throat loudly. Lip kisses leave him completely short-circuited and frozen in place for a solid minute.h
L = Little things (What little things do they do for you?)
He sharpens your pencils, carries all your heavy schoolbags, and polishes your shoes until they shine. He also memorizes your class schedule to ensure he is always standing guard outside your classroom door right when the bell rings.
M = Morning (What are mornings like with them?)
Mornings are a literal wake-up call. He is a massive early riser. He will stand outside your door, booming a "GOOD MORNING!" that wakes up the entire dorm. He always brings a hot, perfectly balanced breakfast to ensure you maintain your stamina.
N = Nights (What are nights like with them?)
Nights are the only time he finally lowers his volume. You two will sit together in the library or his room. He will read historical texts out loud to you, his voice dropping to a low, rumbling cadence that inadvertently helps you fall asleep.
O = Open (How open are they with you?)
It takes time for him to drop his rigid guard. Eventually, he will open up about his deep insecurities regarding his half-human heritage, his desperate need to prove himself to Malleus, and his fear of not being strong enough to protect you.
P = Patience (How patient are they?)
He has very little patience for slacking or laziness, but he has an infinite amount of it for you. If you are struggling with a task, he won't get angry; instead, he will loudly cheer you on like a personal, overly enthusiastic gym coach.
Q = Quizzes (Do they help you study?)
He makes a terrifyingly intense study partner. He will bark quiz questions at you like a drill sergeant. If you get an answer right, he praises you so loudly that the librarian promptly kicks both of you out of the building.
R = Remember (What do they remember about you?)
He remembers your exact physical limits, your favorite meals, and every single rule or boundary you set. If you mention in passing that a certain smell gives you a headache, he will personally ban that scent from his presence immediately.
S = Security (How protective are they?)
His protectiveness borders on extreme. He views himself as your personal bodyguard. He constantly scans the crowds for threats and will physically shield you with his large frame the second a stray spell or a rowdy student gets too close.
T = Trust (How much do they trust you?)
He trusts you with his honor, which is everything to him. The biggest sign of his trust is allowing you to see him when he fails or makes a mistake. Letting you see his unpolished, vulnerable side is a massive deal for his pride.
U = Unwind (How do you help them relax?)
You help him unwind by gently placing your hands over his ears or pressing a finger to his lips, softly telling him to "shh." Giving his tense shoulders a firm massage helps him melt completely, turning him into a quiet, compliant puddle.
V = Value (How much do you mean to them?)
Next to his loyalty to Lord Malleus, you are the most important person in his life. He views you as his personal anchor in the human world, and he would gladly face an entire army to keep you safe and happy.
W = Whole (Do they feel whole with you?)
Yes. With you, he doesn't have to constantly scream to prove his worth or hide his human side. You accept his loud, intense nature completely, allowing him to feel secure just being Sebek.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon)
He is completely illiterate when it comes to romance tropes. If you try to tease him with a classic romantic gesture (like the "wall slam"), he will genuinely think you are off-balance and grab you by the waist to help you stand up straight.
Y = Yearning (How do they cope with missing you?)
He channels his lonely energy into brutal training sessions. He will swing his magic pen or sword for hours, shouting your name with every strike to motivate himself. He also drafts incredibly long, formal letters to you that he is too embarrassed to mail.
Z = ZZzz (Sleeping habits)
He sleeps exactly like a soldier—perfectly straight on his back, hands at his sides, snoring incredibly loudly. However, if you curl into his side, his arm will instinctively lock around you like a seatbelt, pulling you tight against his chest all night.
Okay, hear me out. We know that Sebek is sometimes (a lot) loud.
So I was thinking if him & you were romantically involved, wouldn’t it be cute if he lowered his volume if yuu has like sensitive hearing, very sensitive or just doesn’t like loudness.
Ooooooooh Sebek... yes please, I would like a dark chocolate swirl pound cake and a bubble tea please please? I leave the details in your very capable hands.
you didnt select a cup so i'm just giving you the mostro lounge one!!
an order of romantic fluff with sebek zigvolt!
The breeze is cool against his face as Sebek leaves his dorm, standing tall as he marches towards Ramshackle. He passes under the streetlights with determination, dressed in full uniform to fight back against the chill of the night. He’s never been good with the cold, but you called for him, and so he shall come.
The porch creaks and the crickets chirp as he steps up to your front door, sparing a glance at the star speckled sky above. The inside of Ramshackle seems so warm now, and he doesn’t know if it’s you or if it’s just because of the light inside.
Sebek raises his fist and knocks three times, clasping his hands behind his back as he waits for you to open the door.
You do so almost immediately after he knocks.
“Sebek!” you beam, brighter than the sun’s rays and far warmer too, throwing yourself into his arms.
The soft fabric of your pajamas feels foreign against his uniform and he fumbles, lips pinching together and face burning pink.
“Why are you up so late!? Humans like you need lots of sleep!” he scolds.
Despite this, he doesn’t let you go. Instead, he adjusts his hold on you, coaxing your legs around his waist so he can lift you up properly. You take advantage of the new position almost immediately, resting your head on his shoulder as you giggle.
“I wanted to spend time with you.” you tease, “It’s a Friday night, love. You could stand to let loose a little.”
Sebek grumbles something you can’t hear under his breath but still carries you inside, holding you up with one hand as he shuts the door with the other. You swing your legs as he carries you to the living room, laying you gently on the couch. It strikes you, how gentle he’s being. If Ace or Deuce were here, he would have thrown you like always.
Instead, he crouches next to you, and presses his hand against the side of your face.
“Warm.” he whispers, and he looks so angry when he says it that you start to laugh.
His protesting rings loud and clear through the dorm and the peaceful night.
Twisted Babysitting: Baby fangs, scales, horns, and naps (pt.2)
Twisted Wonderland x F!Reader
Characters: Diasomnia group
I reached 200 subscribers! Thank you Twisted Dreamers for your support and your kind words. I never thought my writing would ever make it this far!
Pt 2: Yeah definitely a prank gone wrong knowing him but there was a twist.
He had meant to use it on you but because he misplaced the cup with the potion he ended up drinking the potion. (Talk about instant karma.)
(And I'm sorry to all you Lillia lovers/simps but I can't see him in a romantic way, I see him more like another parent figure to us in this fandom)
Now your left to take care of him and that's not an easy job.
---
After texting Silver and Malleus what happened and offering to take care of Lilia they agreed. You sighed and looked at what was now a baby fae who was not in your arms-
" LILLIA! Oh come on take my eyes off for a second and he's gone!" you internally screamed as you started looking for him.
" Lillia come on, this isn't a game come on out." then you heard something above you and saw Lillia hanging on the chandelier.
" HOW DID YOU GET UP THERE!" you cried as you got under the chandelier to see if you could catch him.
" I'm a bat!" Lillia giggled hanging upside down. You nearly had a heart attack when he swung to another part of the chandelier then jumped down and landed on the couch.
You ran over and picked him up examining him, Lilia squirmed in your arms. " I'm fine." he grumbled as you check him for injuries.
You rolled your eyes, " Well I'm not, I thought you might have gotten hurt." you sighed setting him on the couch he looked down as if he hadn't thought about that before.
" Sorry." he mumbled you saw that he was on the verge of tears you lifted his chin and wiped his tears.
" I'm sorry too I shouldn't have yelled at you." Lillia grinned and clung to your neck you smiled softly and began rocking him back and forth until he fell asleep.
" That was fast." you thought as you took him upstairs to your room and set him in bed then headed back down stairs to sleep on the couch.
---
The next morning you woke up to several screams coming from your kitchen and you ran there to see Lilia cooking. Oh boy.
He had decided to reward your kindness and willingness to take care of him by providing you with breakfast and Grim came down saw the mess and set it on fire.
You were silently grateful that Grim had done so but you did let Lilia tell embarrassing stories about Malleus, Silver, and Sebek when they were children.
When he saw you laughing with the sweetest smile on your face he smiled to himself. " Maybe I could beat Crewel with the adoption papers."
This is just a small blurb on how some Twisted Wonderland characters would react if Reader presents to their dorm during a rainy day. Hope you guys like this one.
Trey Clover
He honestly was a bit surprised that you showed up to his dorm room - and that you passed by Riddle completely unseen. He might be able to hide his concern behind his usual smile, but he shows he cares by helping you bathe and feeding you warm cookies and tea, while he dries your clothes.
Jack Howl
He was a bit mad at you. Why would you run to him in this weather instead of getting to your own dorm? But when he sees trembling with cold he melts and gets you inside. He wraps you in a warm blanket and keeps you warm with cuddles. You can see his tail wagging back and forth as he holds you in between his legs like you are some sort of plushy.
Floyd Leech
Laughs it off, 'cause to him you look like a drenched shrimp and that's a bit funny. He would drag you inside, strip you of your wet clothes and jump in the bath full of bubbles with you. Would princess-carry you everywhere while you are wrapped burrito style in multiple blankets, and would hug you so tight while you lie with him in bed.
Sebek Zigvolt
Slightly annoyed that you didn't brought with you an ombrella or some sort of covert to repair from the rain. Acts like a tsundere the whole time. Would scold you for beign inconsiderate of your own healt - hiding his blush in the mean time, 'cause he's happy you went to him - while drying you with utmost care, petting your hair and wrapping you in a warm blanket - the warmest he was capable of finding.
