Alright so I read this a while back, and I keep rereading it because the way the author writes these two is so freaking gorgeous despite being a short fic.

Please if you have time check this out because I found myself enjoying it a lot, and I don't know if it's just my bias for the characters or my genuine interest in the fic but I think others will more than likely enjoy it as well!

This is silrid anon again.

I was thinking on how I kinda always end up adding Kalim somehow in any silrid situations I imagine, and how that he always ends up as their platonic third or their cat— which is great and awesome for all of them (bc Kalim deserves more close friends and I love his friendship with Silver and Riddle also needs more friends and I love any friendship with him and other characters and Silver is great and deserves the world).

But then my brain went "it'd also be cool if the three of them were a thing" and "these two are like those best friend duo in every show for girls" at the same time. Which is funny because normally in those shows there would be a "oh no. My best friend likes the same boy as me :(!!"

Except, with the context these two grew up in, that's really the less likely thing to happen. I mean,

Kalim: at the count of three, we say who each likes. 1, 2, 3—

Both of them: Riddle!

Silver: Huh. I didn't expect that. It's not that surprising, though.

Kalim: I know, right? I mean, he's awesome and so smart

Silver, who is used to see him around the horses and is biased: and very cute and kind.

Kalim, who sees the best on everyone and everyone knows that: Yeah! I wonder why other people don't believe me when I say that.

Silver: *shrugs* ...wait. So we both like him?

Kalim: What should we do now?

Silver, AKA, the guy raised by Lilia: my old man would probably say to "go for it" and ask him out.

Kalim, whose own father has a harem: do you think he'll say yes?

Silver: I'm not sure. But I also am not sure he'll say no.

And then they'd proceed to ask him out together. Riddle, whose only example in romance is a two people marriage and not even a very good one, would be really confused once he process it. By then, he probably would be in bed and already had accepted a date with two of his friends though.

Anyways, yeah. That's how that trope would go with these two probably. That said, I actually like this ship with all of them dating each other (like joining next year light music club so Kalim won't end up as the only present member and developing from there), but I still prefer SilRid + their friend Kalim (who is invested in their relationship) more. This is just kind of funny and cute.

I yap a lot about azurido, so I should give attention to the other wips rotting in my ellipsus folder...

I had a Kalirdo (noble or royalty, I never settled for one) AU where they were engaged to each other as kids. So naturally, they were often brought together to play. But the two got into an incident, and Riddle's mother took him away from the town.

The engagement was never formally broken, and Kalim's parents assured him that they were still in contact with Riddle's mother and nothing had changed.

Years later, Kalim gets news of Riddle's return and gets excited to reunite with a childhood friend/fiancée. Except he's nothing like the cheerful kid he was when he was younger, as he was taught to behave like a "proper noble" through etiquette lessons.

But Kalim doesn't let this deter him, and he keeps trying to bond with him.

One of the only "planned" scenes is when, in his efforts, Kalim accidentally dropped them into a fountain and was extremely apologetic, but Riddle only felt humiliated. He just wanted to make the redhead smile again, and he asked what had changed between them.

"I matured, Kalim. And clearly you should as well."

Kalim is shattered at this, and Riddle instantly feels bad, but he refuses to admit it. The issue was that Riddle had been trained to act in a certain manner, and he forgot that there wasn't a moment Kalim expected stuff like that from him. He only wanted Riddle.

And I don't really have anything else so :p
