I was thinking on how I kinda always end up adding Kalim somehow in any silrid situations I imagine, and how that he always ends up as their platonic third or their cat— which is great and awesome for all of them (bc Kalim deserves more close friends and I love his friendship with Silver and Riddle also needs more friends and I love any friendship with him and other characters and Silver is great and deserves the world).
But then my brain went "it'd also be cool if the three of them were a thing" and "these two are like those best friend duo in every show for girls" at the same time. Which is funny because normally in those shows there would be a "oh no. My best friend likes the same boy as me :(!!"
Except, with the context these two grew up in, that's really the less likely thing to happen. I mean,
Kalim: at the count of three, we say who each likes. 1, 2, 3—
Silver: Huh. I didn't expect that. It's not that surprising, though.
Kalim: I know, right? I mean, he's awesome and so smart
Silver, who is used to see him around the horses and is biased: and very cute and kind.
Kalim, who sees the best on everyone and everyone knows that: Yeah! I wonder why other people don't believe me when I say that.
Silver: *shrugs* ...wait. So we both like him?
Kalim: What should we do now?
Silver, AKA, the guy raised by Lilia: my old man would probably say to "go for it" and ask him out.
Kalim, whose own father has a harem: do you think he'll say yes?
Silver: I'm not sure. But I also am not sure he'll say no.
And then they'd proceed to ask him out together. Riddle, whose only example in romance is a two people marriage and not even a very good one, would be really confused once he process it. By then, he probably would be in bed and already had accepted a date with two of his friends though.
Anyways, yeah. That's how that trope would go with these two probably. That said, I actually like this ship with all of them dating each other (like joining next year light music club so Kalim won't end up as the only present member and developing from there), but I still prefer SilRid + their friend Kalim (who is invested in their relationship) more. This is just kind of funny and cute.
