This headcanon is mostly based off the summer vacation arc in the manga.

(Under a readmore bc thicc.)

I noticed that whenever Hatsuharu had to meet with Akito he seemed to sit the most comfortably (out of the younger Zodiac members) next to her. He lounges, very close to her. He also had the nerve to ask about Kureno (and seemed to know enough about him to ask), and she laughed at him rather than lashing out.

HC:

I like to think that they have a little bit of a power struggle going on. Like, she knows he has the “Dark Haru” thing going on and that he is physically stronger than her. Though, at the same time he knows she is “God” and has a hold over all of them in some capacity.

In short: 

He’s not that afraid of physical harm to himself at her hand but he knows she can/has/will hurt the people he cares about, while she’s cautious of his hair-trigger temper.

I also kinda think that he sees how much of a sad, lonely little person she is, that he feels bad for her in some capacity, even within the time they’re cursed.

the younger flinched when he watches the hand slap his own. even though he had a moment to react accordingly, no matter what, he tends to freeze in his tracks whenever he is around the head of the family. allowing akito to have his way with the rat.

“i’m-...” he could barely get the words out of his mouth as he just took a couple small steps backwards. “hatori wanted me to give you them.” he managed to get something out to the other. he didn’t enjoy seeing his own family being sick like this. both of them having weak bodies, being susceptible to getting sick. he worries for their god. he doesn’t want to see him suffer anymore. all he is trying is to help.

“Akito-sama...” He hadn’t thought he would run into the head of house, but then again he was wandering around the main estate. He managed to snap out of his surprise relatively fast however and managed a bright smile. “Are you out enjoying the warm sunny weather? It’s quite a perfect day for just basking in the sun!”
