trigger happy havoc stuff & kamuegi
Kamuegi my beloved
I honestly really started to hate this during the rendering, it was very much a ‘trust the process’ moment but I’m very happy with the results, I WILL be drawing more of them
Comission with Kamuegi
What if: date everything au with makoto as the player and the other members of the class (and even other classes) as the dateables
I feel like nagito would be a fuzzy carpet idk why
Oh, you're wonderful, thank you! I'm just doing a selection of characters in a random order.
Sayaka- Okay, she's a CD player that he used to listen to a lot but then stopped once he got a phone that could play music. She's really sweet but kind of passive aggressive about the fact that he stopped using her. Since he's flustered by her as a person, she gets him to promise to listen to her more.
Taka- He has to be an alarm clock, right? He starts every morning yelling about how it's time to start the day and meet life's challenges and stuff.
Junko- Ngl, I think she's the specs. She's the glasses that let him see everyone else. Fitting for her skills of analysis and offers the potential for a yandere route where she just refuses to let him talk to the others.
Nagito- Fluffy carpet is great for Nagito, especially since its "purpose" is to get walked on. I'm also partial to Nagito being Makoto's hoodie. Maybe he got it secondhand from a thrift store, so the vibe is very, "This thing had a hard life before Makoto found it and took care of it. Everyone says it's a bad/shabby hoodie, but Makoto wears it often because he likes it."
Nagito openly says that some of his proudest moments were times where Makoto spilled soup on him or put his hood up when it rained. ("I got to keep the hot soup from touching you! I confess that, though I'm a mere object, I felt a sense of pride for getting to be of use to you, even in such a small, insignificant way.") He's very clingy, but he can't express it in an entitled way.
Also, the fact that Makoto is wearing him means he's able to snark at the other objects he dates/talks to. Much like Junko.
Kyoko- Boy, it sure seems like she should be a magnifying glass, but I desperately want to go a different direction. Maybe Makoto's contact lenses? (Gives her a reason to frequently be saying things like "Did you see that?" "Did you notice that?" Plus it almost gives context to the gloves; you put context lenses in with your fingers, so there's something there, idk.) Or a filing cabinet. (She holds all the records he's kept over time, she remembers everything and reminds him of things he forgot.) I'm not decided on that yet.
I like the idea of her being a filing cabinet with a lock on it; she's keeping secrets. Everyone wants to know the information she holds.
As a contact lens, there's a vibe that she's supposed to help you observe other things, not be observed, herself. (This can also be the case if she's a window, but I find that less compelling.)
Byakuya- My first thought should have been "wallet", for him, but actually my first thought was that he's Makoto's cell phone, and the pay apps just inform a lot of his personality. (As well as the stock market app that comes with the phone.) The fact that he has Internet access is where a lot of his intelligence (and stupidity) comes from. I'm torn on this one, because making him Makoto's cell phone means he's directly involved with the Sayaka stuff, and I like that. But making him Makoto's wallet could be fun in that he can be trying to do a corruption arc the whole time. Like, "This is pathetic; you need to be more pragmatic and cutthroat if you want to fill me up."
Aesthetically, making him a wallet or money clip could have him look close to his canon self, but I also enjoy the idea of him being a phone and having a different outfit depending on what case Makoto puts on him. (He gets really disgruntled when Makoto puts him in a cute case. Like Pikachu or something.) And if his screen gets cracked, that's his glasses. And he bugs Makoto to get him fixed.
Hajime/Izuru- Okay, my first thought was that Izuru is his computer or something. If we were sticking with the before/after aspect of Hajime and Izuru, I could see Hajime being a notebook that Makoto used to use for work and Izuru being a computer that he started using instead.
BUT, I'm kind of into the idea of both Hajime and Izuru being a smart home system. (Idk, he won it in a raffle. This guy did not have that installed on purpose.) Izuru having all the talents, in canon, is expressed as him having a creepy amount of control over a lot of the objects in the house. He gives a command and it is done. Hajime has more manager vibes; not a puppetmaster like Izuru, just a somewhat no-nonsense guy who's willing to step in and tell the thermostat to chill out.
It's kind of like the two of them represent different aspects of the smart home system; Hajime is Makoto's control over the house, and Izuru is the house's control over Makoto. (Or vice versa, if you're freaky.) Makoto accepts that sometimes stuff isn't going to work how he wants it to, and that he still has to go about his day if the temperature isn't right or the lights don't come on. But Hajime is like, "No, stand up for yourself! These things are supposed to listen to you!" Meanwhile Izuru is turning the lights off, on him, when he tries to work late, and ordering his computer to power down.
Shuichi- He actually is a magnifying glass, and he's really excited when Makoto actually uses him. (This works best if Kyoko is the contact lenses, because then they're kind of similar in function and it makes sense for him to be kind of deferential towards her.)
Celeste- Okay, hear me out. One time, Komaru went to a costume convention. And it was close to Makoto's house, so she stayed over at his place when she went. And she bought so many plushies and various merch items that her costume could no longer fit in her suitcase when it was time to leave. So she left her costume at Makoto's place, and Celeste is the costume.
Or she's, like, a jewelry box that he bought from a thrift store thinking it was antique but actually it's fairly new and janky and deliberately made to look kind of rustic and valuable. (This has more of a sensible arc to it, because the "My sister just left you at my house" thing feels more appropriate for Toko.) In this case, Makoto starts off very curious about her, asking about her history with the expectation that she's seen a lot, and she tries to keep up the act, but gradually it becomes clear that she's just a box made in a factory pretty recently without much going on as far as craftsmanship. And he gets to be like, "Oh. Well, that's fine, too! I mean, you were still a bargain."
I never see fanart of them anywhere, I get very excited when I do. The only pair I have written fanfiction about (Not posted) Because I believe both Hope Boys ™ Can be very versatile or something.
I read a fic about them so i draw them.
