So I know there’s probably not that many interested in this, and I really wonder if I should just make a separate blog for the AU related things, but here’s a little about the relationship between Karasu Tengu and Yui’s auntie 🐦‍⬛🐇 in my Chronicles / Rise au (Once in a Blue Moon)

The description in under the cut 🧡✨ (Sorry if some of it might be worded weirdly, English is not my first language. Feel free to correct me).

Miyamoto Kana was a second in line, rebel-child of the family. Inspired by tales of her ancestor’s adventures, she spent most of her time and money travelling and getting into trouble. In her late 30s she got herself attacked while trespassing on a yokai forest and that’s when she met its guardian- Karasu, the Tengu of Justice, that for many centuries has been keeping an eye on the forest and the mystic portal hidden inside it. In the past, once their world became more and more hostile towards the yokai, Karasu used to use said portal to send some of the yokai to the once sparsely populated human world (if they passed her judgement). Karasu, who’ve met Miyamoto Usagi during the Tengu War, once she learns of Kana’s ancestry, allows her to briefly stay in exchange for stories from her travels. The brief stay gets a little longer as Kana has apparently A LOT to say, and she eventually learns Karasu hasn’t left her forest in hundreds of years. She also learns that the portal she’s protecting, opens only for a few weeks, every six years (when the Blue Moon appears) and starts convincing Kara to leave for a little while and join her in her travels.

And that’s basically how they become friends. Karasu shape-shifts into a less threatening form (and sometimes takes a shape of a tall, black hare, that still stands out a lot), and travel together whenever Karasu isnt watching the portal, and they grow closer for years.

Until one year Kana decides she’s kind of tired of having no home of her own (her family home hasn’t been that for a loong time) and asks Karasu to build a dojo with her, just outside her forest. She wants to take in a few kids with nowhere to go and help them get a good start in life. So they do that. The trouble is, they have vastly different idea of how to raise them. Karasu’s insistent on training them so they can help her take care of unruly yokai, giving them a good purpose and respect from the local people. Kana thinks that makes them no better than Neko Ninja- stealing kids to train them into soldiers.

So they fall apart. They find kids new homes, Kana moves out far away and settles on a little farm, and Karasu stays in her forest, still keeping the dojo intact.

(They do see each other every once in a while and eventually become kind of friends again, but it’s really not often. But when Hana’s niece is stuck in a locked-down city, she calls Karasu to help her. But that’s kind of another story : D (a sad one, but it has cute baby Yui in it, so it’s not so bad. I have seperate little comics for it, so it’ll have to wait).

I tried a bit of the new style. I hope you guys like it Btw, She is Sharon( or Shalon) from Pandora Heart. Actually difficult for me choosing the color of her hair. Because in the manga, the color of her hair is always changing (like pink, oranges, or blonde). But in the end I followed her animated version. . . . It's sad that Sharon didn't get her time to shine - I actually expected something more major and big for her, as well in terms in her character development.

When she first considered Marie's speech to her about beimg weak without her chain, I really had hoped for something more in that direction.

And actually, most of the characters pass away in the final chapter and Gilbert and Vincent watched them all die one by one. (cry)  So, her status is deceased :")

KanaHana: Well then! Sabaku-chan!

Kaji: “Well then, Sabaku-chan?” Yes?

Tosshi: Sabaku-chan!

Kaji: Yes?

KanaHana: So this time, your ti- first time as guest here...

Kaji: Even if you ask me “How was it?” Well... right?

KanaHana: How was it?

Kaji: How should I put this... I was scarred... more than I expected.

KanaHana: Actually I don’t think this radio is usually like that.

Kaji:  Right? I’m really sorry about that. 

KanaHana: Kaji- ah... I meant Sabaku-chan.

Kaji: You clearly said “Kaji- ah...”!!!

Tosshi: What’s more is that you said the whole thing “Kaji”

Kaji: Cause there’s only two vowels.

Tosshi: Yeah, it comes out quite easily.

Kaji: At least if it’s ‘Toyonaga’, it can go like

Kaji&Tosshi: Toyo- ah...

KanaHana: What’s with these two!?

Kaji: Behold the atmosphere between us! 

Tosshi: Right~

Kaji: Right~

KanaHana: It was really fun for me though. Somehow, it felt like Toshi-kun got a friend.

Kaji: That’s true, somehow... it turned out that I was more connected to Tosshi than I thought.

Tosshi: Isn’t wonderful to have someone to share your scars with?

Kaji: It is wonderful.

KanaHana: But speaking of who’s bullied more in the studio, I believe that Kaji-san is being bullied way more. 

Tosshi: That’s true.

Kaji: I am.. being bullied, yes.

KanaHana: Right?

Tosshi: Also, Kazzi’s seat is close those people who likes to bully others.

Kaji: Right, that’s right. That’s why every time, in the midst of that, Hana-chan being in between us, makes me really uneasy if you’re dragged into the mess too.

KanaHana: No, not at all. It’s just that Kaji -san’s shirt is being stretched out each time. 

Kaji: Exactly! Hear me out! You know how everyone was messing around with my frugal shirt?

KanaHana: Yes they did.

Kaji: So the button’s been getting looser. In another studio, it’s not related to Durarara though, but Irino Miyu did the same thing, and the button came off.

KanaHana: Eh... So your (being bullied) positioning never changes? 

Kaji: Never changes. Yes but... I’m pretty sure Miyu-kun belongs to this side though... 

Tosshi: Miyu-kun belongs to this side.

Kaji: Yes.

Tosshi: I too, always making sure not to be involved in the mess, will quietly sneak away in the shadows.

KanaHana: You’re at the corner after all. 

Kaji: Well, of course it was fun in the studio, but the radio was fun too. 

KanaHana: Ah, that’s good to hear. Please come again.

Kaji: Yes, certainly.

I just got home from the Kny premiere❤️ I got these free merch, and sadly we had to choose between Mui and Mitsuri shirts, so me and my friend both chose Mitsuri for each of us.

The only size that was available is extra large, and is way too big for me. I hope I can still pull it off with a baggy look with my matching green socks or something. Anyways, I need to gather my thoughts because, man I didn't expect to be as speechless as I am now after finishing it lol.

First of all WOW, I somehow didn't expect the infinity fortress to be so big I don't know why I somehow visualize it as just some really big maze of hallways, but the movie showed a whole ass city, and apparently with houses too as Douma said.

And speaking of Douma, Mamoru Miyano did such an amazing job with him! I don't remember him being this cute in the manga, but in the anime HE WAS JUST SO ADORABLE. I almost felt bad with how Akaza and Kokushibo were treating him lol. I just cannot get over how amazing all the vas are, especially Koku with Byakuyas voice!!

And speaking of Swordsmith Village. Ngl, Swordsmith wasn't exactly my favorite arc in the manga, (as much as I adore Mui, Mitsuri and Genya there.) but seeing it in anime and just seeing the environment in general, with the swordsmiths, the blade forging and the world building, made me appreciate it so much more. My friend however, said how he wished the village looked bigger. Our guess is it might be a lot bigger than it looks with more houses that are simply hidden.

Tanjiro's introduction to Genya is just h i l a r i o u s, sometimes I just forget how weird their first interaction is lol. Just from the the way it was animated and how it went manga panel style just as soon as Tanjiro is gonna jump. It's all just perfect.👌

And of course there's the infamous Mitsuri bath scene. I remember saying before about how I was worried that they might exaggerate the fan service scenes, but thankfully, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I know there were some people who wished to omit the bath scene altogether, and I'M SO GLAD THEY DIDN'T, let her enjoy her bath smh 😤 Prior to this, I heard stories about how someone moaned in the theaters during that scene. There wasn't anything like that in my own experience. 🤣 But the audience did gasp, mostly heard comments like "She's so pretty!" something like that.

Also gotta give it to Mitsuri's va Kana Hanazawa! I mentioned before how she also voiced some of my favorite female characters like Akane Tsunemori. I felt that she's a bit underrated within the va community, probably bc they think that she's limited to shy and cutesy roles (she isn't) but the thing is, Kanahana REALLY SHINES when she plays characters like Mitsuri, and it shows. I LOVE the Mitsuri and Nezuko scenes. It was just WAY TOO CUTE AND WHOLESOME (I can't believe I haven't drawn these two together yet ;_;) and I even heard the collective "Awwwwwwws" of the audience during that scene. It was just that cute.

(But that said, I'm a little disappointed they didn't include the part where Mitsuri was singing to Nezuko, it was such a missed opportunity, I wonder if it's too late to add them to the episode once the season is fully released... 🤔)

But overall, It was all really really good, and I was getting so excited to also see Muichiro and then suddenly it ended abruptly, and then I remembered that this was just a teaser of sorts and not the full movie. So I don't know how to end this post except to say that me and my friend are both shoocked.
