Drawtober 9: Pattern; Kanja as farmer Mecke in Max and Moritz

Ok, so I decided to not do all of the stories from the Struwwelpeter book, because I didn’t have any idea what to do with the last two. Instead I’ll move on to other stories. Max and Moritz by Wilhelm Busch is similar in style to Heinrich Hoffmann’s stories, as in that it is written in rhymes as well and kids get in trouble for their misbehaviour.

But it’s still different. It’s a much longer story about two boys who terrorise the people around them with horrible pranks. They kill animals, let their teacher’s pipe explode in his face and generally steal from and hurt people where they can. All until they try their luck with the farmer.

The farmer sees them slashing his corn filled sacks and since he has no chill, grabs them, stuffs them into one of the sacks and delivers them to the miller to grind them, which the miller happily does. And everyone is glad they’re gone. The end.

Even though, Kanja would never hurt a child, he has as little chill as the farmer which is why I picked him. Also yes, in the story the miller throws them in, but he doesn’t have any personality besides that, so I let the farmer/Kanja throw them in.

Pattern, because Max and Moritz come out of the mill as goose feed in the pattern you can see in the small picture. I didn’t know, how to cooperate that into the drawing, though.

I made a character that was just…..just a bit…based on Detroit become human-

I mean, she looks kind of andriod-ish to me at least, and I got inspired by DBH to make her soooooo…

ANywAy- Her name is Kanja, kinda weird name but I like it. I actually had a bit of trouble trying to figure out colors for the ‘x’ on her dress, but eventually just put color in the center piece and told myself to stop in fear of ruining it-

But uh, basically I’ve been REALLY trying to come up with different kind of outfits for my characters, and I think this one turned out really well! Hope you enjoy ^^
