With this traditional BBQ sauce, savor the deep, sweet taste of real Kansas City barbecue. Ideal for dipping and glazing smoky meats.
Ingredients: 1 cup ketchup. 1/2 cup water. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. 1/4 cup molasses. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 2 tablespoons yellow mustard. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1 teaspoon onion powder. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste.
Instructions: Put the ketchup, water, molasses, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar in a saucepan. Stir in the smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion and garlic powders, black pepper, and cayenne. Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring from time to time. To allow the flavors to mingle and the sauce to thicken, turn the heat down to low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Take it off the stove and allow it to cool before putting it in a jar or other container. Use as a dipping sauce or glaze for smoked meats.
