Vegan Japanese Curry Bread Buns (Kare Pan)
Kare Pan (Japanese Curry Bread)
"If It didn't matter what they wanted, it wouldn't matter if - just once- they got it."
The Merciful Crow, Margaret Owen
Whipped up some kare pan today.
This Week in Bento - Monday:
Over the weekend, I defrosted leftover milk bread dough that I used for the hot dog rolls, and combined it with leftover dry curry to make curry buns. They’re perilously close to, but not burnt (my inattentiveness) but they taste delicious.
One is tucked into today’s bento along with leftover Chinese food from dinner with a friend (the same one where I took home the roast duck - here it’s baby bok choy and chicken/eggplant/salted fish casserole).
I also got a bit Arcimboldo with my snack box.
Went to Togoshi Ginza Shotengai once again after voting for the Brazilian elections here in Japan. Great crispy and squishy kare pan (curry bread) to warm this dark and cold Sunday. Wishing a good Monday for everyone!
