An abandoned Princeverse fic I found barried in my notes that I figured someone might enjoy.
Every character in this fiction except for Cass, Tim, and Karlo are OCs.
Ivan laughed as his men carried out the precious cargo full of crystals and gems from the docks, watching the staff aboard the ship shiver in fright. His first attempt at a big heist was going to be a success, with the Batman...Batwoman? Whatever, the kid who was the Batman's successor being injured and out of the way meant he could finally complete a heist, buy his beloved theatre, and live up to the legacy of his mentor, Clayface, aka the one and only Karlo Basil.
As the last of the crates were packed into the last van, Ivan saw it, a shadow. Then two. Right above where he stood. Then, a larger, third shadow in the shape of a bat. Ivan turned around so quickly his waist tore then reformed.
"No! The Bat has been beaten! How can you-" Ivan paused. This wasn't the Bat that they were used to. Above him stood a new Batman. He was all sharp angles, with yellow and red peices here and there. Beside him crouched two smaller figures. The nice thing about the original Batman's successor was that she had no Robin to aid her. This one? He had two.
"Clayface. Return the jewels, now." This one sounded tired too. Ivan sneered and launched a large amount of goop at the Batman and Robins, making them scatter. The taller of the two Robins launched a flashing disk at Ivan, which Ivan quickly dodged. But it was a distraction, the smaller Robin stuck another disk right into his neck, sending sound waves through his clay body and knocking him to the ground.
The smaller Robin hopped off Ivan and ran up to the Batman and the other Robin, as Ivan tried to stand up again. The waves became harsher and he fell back down. Glancing up at the Batman, Ivan saw it. A small controller, probably controlling the disk. Ivan couldn't dislodge the disk without his powers, and he didn't have them at the moment because of the sound waves, so he was trapped.
"Tell us where the rest of the jewels are being taken." The Batman ground out. Ivan shook his head with a laugh.
"Like I'd tell you." The Bat squinted then pressed a button on the controller, making the waves become painful. Ivan struggled to catch his breath and clawed at his neck.
"Stop! Stop it! Please!" Ivan begged. The Bat let go of the button and asked again. "Where are the rest of the jewels being taken?" Ivan gasped before pointing up at the bright blue glass structure north of where they stood. The Iceburg Lounge.
"Cobblepot! He said he'd pay me enough to buy and restore the Monarch Theatre if he could get some new jewels! He never said where they had to come from!" The smaller Robin flicked his wrist and the disk flew from Ivan, right in to the boy's hand.
"If you wanted to buy back the theatre, you could've just asked Wayne Enterprises." The taller Robin, who had a mallet for some reason, giggled and waved his free hand about.
"Yes, their CEO and his wife are big fans of theatre, they could help. Just ask them." The smaller, holding a katanna, nodded along.
"You'll get a chance to ask in person. The wife of the CEO is the lead doctor at Arkham Asylum! You can ask her personally!" The mallet wielding one pointed to the Arkham van arriving on the scene. Ivan sighed, knowing this was going to be a pain to tell Karlo about.
As Ivan was loaded into the van, he saw from the corner of his eyes a flash of red and yellow. The two Robins peaked out from under the cape of the Batman, looking down at Ivan. The mallet Robin gave a thumbs up, and the smaller waved goodbye. Sure, he was defeated, and by a new Batman no less, but at least the Robins were adorable. He couldn't wait to tell Sage and Carlos about the little birds.
