Happy Lunar New Year! It’s been awhile! ~I think, I can’t remember when I last posted tbh~

I was gonna drop all 12 of these at once but Tumblr won’t let me do more than 10 images in a post apparently so I guess these are gonna have to be in batches. Oh well, just means I get to draw these out I suppose; 4 a day! Honestly not too upset about that cuz I was worried the post would look toomessy with all of them, only 4 looks much cleaner !

Had the idea for Chinese Zodiac themed character designs- some of the character picks were based off relation to the actual animal, like I specifically picked RJ for the Sheep because of the “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” saying. And I self indulgently did my Red Ranger OC Athena for the Horse since her zord is a Unicorn.

But some of the character picks were picked by a random wheel spin as there are at current no Rat or Rooster or Horse zords (at least as the main zord, I forgor Catastro existed so Nick ended up accidentally fitting).

Looking forward to the new year and hope everyone’s year has been starting out better than the last- and if it hasn’t I dearly hope things improve ❤️💙💛🩷🖤✨✨✨

Gayest Power Rangers ask

Can be one or two pers season, or three from each era instead. Whichever you wanna do!

Ok so the context to this was “who do you think are the gayest power rangers?” and I am an idiot who didn’t realize deleting a draft deletes the ask. My answer:

Oh boy, do I have answers to this…

Number one unquestionably, stone hard fact that cannot be argued, is Andros. That man is not straight. Look at him. And by virtue of that, Zhane is 1.5 on the list.

Number 2: Leo. No explanation. Just watch the season.

Number 3: All of the Lost Galaxy women, including Cassie (as she was technically the lost galaxy ranger for one scrapped episode.) Maya especially, but shoutout to my bisexual queen Karone.

Number 4: Kelsey. Again, nearly entirely presented onscreen, bar an actual verbal confirmation of it being true.

Number 5: Vida. No explanation needed. But in a bisexual kinda way.

I’m not sure why this became a ranking but I don’t really think I should continue in this format?

Random unranked list of those not in my top 5:

-The entire Ninja Steel team. They’re all bisexual and in a relationship (except Brody and Levi because that would be grosssss). This is something about which I feel very strongly and I am of the opinion that they are the team whose poly ship makes the most sense. It's the easiest to imagine for them compared to any others (although the two space seasons are a close second). Also Princess Viera who was DEFINITELY checking Sarah out.

Reasoning: they’re not really ever split into distinct groups or pairs like many other seasons (for example, I can think of maybe two scenes AT MOST that Dana and Joel ever share alone in 40 episodes) and they all seem just equally close and affectionate with each other. There’s no tension or personality clashes, it’s just a normal, close group of high schoolers that you’d see in like Degrassi or something. They all fit well together.

Hayley and Sarah are a power duo, Preston and Sarah get a lot of scenes together, Preston and Hayley had that whole episode where she helped him get more confident in his magic, Preston and Brody don’t need explaining, Preston and Calvin have a lot of background moments together, Preston was always there to back up Levi in his focus episodes and Levi seemed to make Preston more secure as a person, Brody and Sarah have chemistry, Brody and Preston have chemistry, Hayley being a very ambitious and encouraging person helps Brody get out of his shell, Brody and Calvin are like the extrovert and introvert versions of each other, Hayley and Calvin are obvious, Hayley and Levi honestly had a lot of scenes together (I assume it's maybe due to them both living in NZ and therefore maybe being a bit more available for filming, but maybe it's a footage thing) and are the most level-headed and secure of the group, Sarah and Levi are like the chill guy-high energy girl combo but they're both very open and expressive people, Sarah and Calvin had that moment where they dance together and I'm pretty sure there was going to be a plot where they got together but the actresses for the two girls felt it would go against their characters' friendship so they definitely work as the two engineers on the team, and based on how Calvin was with Ace I could see him being towards Levi because, come on, he clearly had a celebrity crush on him.

-Casey and Lily. Lily because of her scenes with Camille and just honestly everything about Casey.

-Mike Corbett

Reasoning: The way he says "yes sir" to Commander Stanton in Quasar Quest Part 1 had me going 🤨. Like, sir, why are you saying it like that? Don't sound so eager. (side note: this happens a bit in Lightspeed Rescue too).

The way he and Kai look at each other at the end of Blue to the Test....i know what u are mister.

The way he looks at Andros on the megaship during To The Tenth Power....He and Leo both 100% have a crush on him. (The Ranger Danger podcast was divided on this, but they came to the conclusion that Mike just has chemistry with everyone he interacts with solely due to the acting and the way he looks at his scene partners, and I agree).

He is not actually affected by Trakeena in Stolen Beauty. Yes he does leave them to go off with Tracy but he had figured out her identity at this point. And he's polite when he meets her at the bar, but he just seems to be that way with everyone.

I saw someone ship him with Carlos and I don't hate it.

This is going to sound completely insane but I can see him with Wes and/or Eric. He seems like he'd go well with someone with a much stronger personality and both Wes and Eric are stubborn and a bit controlling with their like leadership and stuff and I feel like Mike is the exact opposite of that. On the other hand, he and Adam would be just the chillest pairing ever.

-Low key Xander from Mystic Force but in a more fluid/open kinda way where he'll just be down for anything.

I literally cannot remember any more characters right now, so maybe I'll come back and edit more into this, but I'd be interested in hearing others' thoughts on this. I haven't watched most seasons since around 2015, aside from In Space--Time Force (?), Jungle Fury, some of Mystic Force, Ninja Steel, and like a handful of Samurai and Megaforce, which I've watched at least once since 2020.

Andros using his psychic powers to choke any guys advancing on Karone, Hunter curb-stomping Thunder Academy students picking on Blake, or Lauren burning people with her symbol power when people would say shit about her or Jayden as kids.

💗HEADCANON💗

Ehm sooo Power Rangers zords that are also conscious in a way. I mean like I wish we got more scenes with the rangers and their respective zords telepathically communicating with eachother or just them straight up talking to their zords in person

Like Tyler from Dino Charge telling mama T-Red because yes I fully believe his zord is a she about how he longs to see his dad because he just feels it in his heart that he is alive and mama T-Rex communicating the best she can in trying to tell him that his father is alive she however can't speak so she just sends feelings of understanding and acceptance his way.

Jayden from Samurai confides in his folding zord every night describing his feelings of imposter syndrome and fear knowing he's basically just a pawn to both his father and mentor Ji meant to do nothing but serve as a "protector" of his sisters identity so she can eventually seal Master Xander away despite it more than likely being at the cost of his own life. His zord can do nothing but show him slight tricks to make him smile and send feelings of security and care hoping that he understands that despite the horrible father figures in his life he will always be there with Jayden and if that means fighting till the bitter end and attacking anyone who dares to mess with him he will.

Astronema/Karone expressing to her Galactabeast her fears of becoming evil again and the guilt she feels becoming the new pink Galaxy Ranger after Kendrick's untimely death and fuck it maybe she expresses a feeling of wanting to become evil again just so she can have the power she once had before. She also showcases her love for Andros and her hatred of the dark forces for stripping her away from her childhood and from her brother because even after they were defeated he and her never seemed to get back on the same level they were on as children.

Or on a much lighter note Emma from Megaforce laying in her bedroom telephathically giggling with her Phoneix zord, catching her up on all the school drama and describing the major crush she has on Troy only for her zord to send back emotions of happiness and urges of confession trying to espress to Emma that all she has to do it tell Troy because she may or may not have heard from his zord that Troy may or may not feel the same way about Emma.

Since I apparently can’t escape this fuckass show..

Ecliptor and Darkonda gave such divorced dads. The way they were fighting over Astronema. And when they combined like hello are you perhaps GAY.

AND then as soon as Astronema dips and decides to become Karone again and Ecliptor follows her he’s like guess I’ve got no choice but to brainwash them!

Darkonda: I HATE both of you and I’m going to ruin your lives I know your still good and have no ties to evil whatsoever

Also Darkonda: Time to do some brain surgery so you’ll both be evil and never leave me again!

I will forever stick by the headcanon that the reason he kidnapped Karone was as a wedding present to Ecliptor and he’s like wtf is wrong with you and they fight Darkonda runs off and now Ecliptor is forced to raise this small child (however he ends up caring for her more than any other.

It also explains why he has it out for Andros because he’s trying to find Karone and he knows she will leave if she ever finds out the truth (and he knows Ecliptor will follow her!)
