Instruction Manual (KasaKuro, 170, PG)

The problem with love is that there’s not an instruction manual. Well, maybe Moriyama serves as a living instruction manual of what not to do, but that’s beside the point. No one tells him the positives, like how to go about doing things rather than how to go about not doing them. He’s gotten past the asking-out phase (and it’s a lot easier when women aren’t involved) and he likes hanging out with Kuroko and sometimes doing couple things like dates and kissing, but how do they move forward? Kuroko’s certainly not giving him any hints.

But it’s kind of like basketball; you can’t just stand there dribbling until the shot clock runs out. You have to take a risk and you might end up losing the ball and on the defensive, but you’ll have tried and gotten something done. He picks up the phone and scrolls through his contacts.

“Kasamatsu-kun?”

“Hey. Kuroko. Do you want to meet for dinner? There’s this place by my apartment that just opened up.”

6. Grocery shopping

The thing about Tetsuya is that he disappears without notifying anyone—yes, he’s got low presence and yes, he’s quiet but it’s still unnerving how he gets ideas and goes wandering off. Yukio’s awfully glad he’s not Tetsuya’s father—well, for a number of reasons, but especially because losing your kid in a crowded grocery store has got to be worse than losing your oft-wandering boyfriend. At least, that’s what he tells himself. He turns back to the shelf, pocks up a couple of different jars of mustard. They’re both reasonably-priced, but which is the best ounce per ounce? Yukio sighs. He wants to move on; he’s wasting time here and Tetsuya will find him anywhere but he has no idea what he’s getting or where he is.

“Yukio-san?”

“Where the hell were you?”

“I was getting the milk,” Tetsuya says, depositing the cartons into the shopping basket.

Yukio reaches out and ruffles his hair. He doesn’t really have the heart to yell; and after all it’s Tetsuya.

“Tell me where you’re going next time, okay?”

Tetsuya merely smiles.

Okay so rewatching KnB the first season, I've already found two new pairings that I'm adding to my list of ships I will write for. The two being Kasakuro and Takakuro. It'll be done, I swear it, someday.

Kuroko is the perfect kouhai—not too loud or too moody or too narcissistic (although truth be told, Hayakawa, Nakamura, and Kise are good kids when it comes down to it). He’s quiet and diligent and even if he’s still not very skilled he plays his role well and does what’s asked of him. On the other hand, Kuroko’s way too damn cute for his own good, so it’s probably better that he plays for another team (not to mention how overbearing Kise would be if that were the case). Still, it’s hard being in different cities and being busy all the time; they rarely get to see each other.

But it’s worth it when they do get together. Kuroko’s suitably low-key and willing to let Kasamatsu take the lead most of the time. Of course, sometimes he gets ahead of himself and Kasamatsu always swears he’s not going to let Kuroko be the exception but he always is and he’s always forgiven before Kasamatsu can get properly mad. It’s almost frustrating, but it also isn’t—it’s hard to be frustrated when Kuroko’s kissing him in a way that makes him blush for a week just thinking about it.
