Let’s make the ULTIMATE Katrina Cornwell Playlist!
It’s October which means that in a month filled with -tobers, I am going to be annoyingly vocal about my love for Kat Cornwell, and what better way to kick that off than a soundtrack?
Reblog with your favorite Admiral Cornwell songs! Any genre. Any era. If it screams “Katrina Cornwell” I want to hear it. Let’s create the ultimate playlist to honor our badass admiral!
And to start it off…
“Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift
“White Flag” by Bishop Briggs
“I am not a woman, I’m a god” by Halsey
“Coming for Blood” by Eva Under Fire (feat. From Ashes to New)
“Off With Her Head” by Icon for Hire

40 + 76, Constangreen
40. Almost Kiss + 76. Did They or Didn't They
Okay, so we need some fluff every now and then, right?
Now, the Legends don't think that John and Gary are together. They're certain that they broke up. So when Gary waxes a little poetically about John, the Legends all nod and smile and give each other looks like "sure, Gary, sure".
Gary and John decided to put any relationships prospects on hold while Gary is training. However, John we know to be a shit. And maybe Gary's feeling a bit salty to how the Legends are being oh so nice to him. So they conspire to bait them. Make them think they're in a relationship.
When they're with the Legends, they're sappy as hell. Casually draping arms around each other from behind. Bringing each other coffee or tea. Stupid soulful glances. Protecting the other with magic. They lean in to kiss once, and then the power cuts out on the ship.
It's funny to see the Legends accidentally scratching their heads over it.
It stops being funny when John realizes he actually has feelings for Gary.
There are many plot developments and theories to discuss after this week’s episode of Discovery, but my girl, BAMF Counselor Admiral Katrina Cornwell, declaring that love is a choice, a choice you keep making over and over ... I just have a lot of feelings.
Chris/Damian Shorts 5/???
A short I wrote last night for @virtu-s and expanded on!
Kat Cornwell stepped into Chris’ ready room and expected to be alone with the younger man, but Damian Rydell was ever present at the Captain’s side and she eyed him from her unnoticed vigil in the doorway.
She had known Arthur Rydell before his death, but his younger brother was one of Starfleet’s more illusive mysteries. Like Arthur, Damian was tall, but where Arthur had been a strapping young officer, Damian was lithe and slender. That wasn’t the only difference, either.
Arthur never commanded the room, not without effort at least. He was charming and funny and brilliant but never felt entirely suited for the title of Starfleet’s “Best and Brightest”, as Sophia would claim. But Damian?
He was sitting on Chris’ desk, legs swinging back and forth like a child, and all Kat could do was look at him. Brown skin caught aglow in the golden light that streamed in from the passing nebula, blue hair falling softly over his forehead as he spoke to Chris in a tone so soft it seemed almost unkind to interrupt him. Everything in the room seemed centred on Damian, almost like gravity.
Chris was no exception, and from the look on his face; soft eyed and open, full of devotion, reverence...maybe even love? She knew he was caught in this pull, like stars wrapped in each other’s brilliance.
She moved further into the room, her steps a little more forceful than usual and she watched as the entire room seemed to shift. That pull disappeared, so quickly it was almost disorrientating; Chris sat up straighter as he slid back into the mindset of a Captain and the open emotions that had been flickering across his face disappeared in favour of something stern. Professional.
For his part, Damian shut off. Kat has heard that Damian was a master of compartmentalisation, but to see it in action was almost jarring. His back became almost rigid, narrow shoulders squared as he slid off the desk and walked around to the other side of it to stand in parade rest. There was none of the intimacy left in the room, even the warm golden nebula seemed colder now.
If Kat hadn’t seen it for herself, she never would have known it had happened.
“Admiral,” Damian greeted with a short nod. His tone was respectful, text book, almost.
“You’re dismissed, Lieutenant,” Chris called, as if they’d been having a meeting when she walked in.
Damian looked at the Captain and nodded. “Very good, sir,” he replied, and slipped out of the Ready Room without another word.
Kat waited for the door to slide shut behind the young man before she turned to Chris.
Chris was watching her, and she could see the anxious concern in his eyes. Desperately trying to hide the fact he felt like they’d been caught.
Kat fixed him with a look. “Be honest, this is not the worst thing I’ve caught you doing, Chris,” she said, light hearted.
Some of the tension seeped out of Chris’ shoulders. “Yeah, I guess not,” he replied, a pink tinge dusting his cheeks. “How long were you...”
“Long enough to know that you’d better watch your ass,” she said, almost in warning. “Or one day you’ll be the one taking orders in this relationship.”
To her surprise, Chris grinned, broad and brilliant and proud. “I know,” he told her. “I’m almost looking forward to it.”
