Did You Know: According to The Madness of Pelagius, Pelagius III truly never ruled as Emperor? From the beginning, his wife Empress Katariah Ra'athim and the Elder Council made every actual decision during his reign. Just two years after his reign began, Pelagius was sent to a private asylum, and Katariah became the Empress Regent. When Pelagius passed away six year later, Katariah became the Empress Regnant.

Did You Know: Part of the reason the future Empress Katariah was chosen as the spouse for Pelagius the Mad was due to her incredible shrewdness? It was believed that she, if anyone, could have hidden his eccentricities. Sadly this did not work, and Pelagius was sent to asylums for treatments for the rest of his life. Katariah was declared Empress Regent, and upon the death of her husband, she became the ruler of Tamriel as Empress Katariah I.
Did You Know: You can run into a master blacksmith with the same name as one from "The Armorer's Challenge" in Morrowind? Sirollus Saccus was an armorer who competed to win a contract to supply the Legion in a campaign in Black Marsh, during the reign of Empress Katariah. He would lose the contract, and set out for Morrowind to learn the techniques of his competitor.
Considering Katariah's reign was nearly 300 years prior, it is unclear if this is the same Sirollus. Notably, he is one of the best trainers in Morrowind, the sixth wealthiest merchant (with three of the merchants ahead of him being test characters or easter eggs), is serving the Imperial Legion as a Champion, and has the appearance of an elderly man.
Did You Know: Empress Katariah, the wife of Pelagius of Mad, died during a minor skirmish in Black Marsh? The peculiar nature of her death is a favorite subject for Tamrielic conspiracy theories.
