6 underrated YouTube channels you should check out if you're a YouTube addict:

1. DylanIsInTrouble: a snarky loner making funny movie commentaries among other things.

2. Daniel Thrasher: A Percy Jackson/James Potter looking jazz pianist/balloon animal enthusiast who makes bizarre skits of him talking to himself.

3. Jared Watney: If you're interested in yachts, watch Jared Watney. If you're not interested in yachts, watch Jared Watney. He'll MAKE you interested in yachts.

4. TwoSetViolin: two violinists roasting violas and dead composers. 10/10 found a new appreciation for classical music that I never had before.

5. Kat Steele: Broadway cultist ten seconds away from a musical-induced panic attack.

6. Bernadette Banner: secret immortal who's been lowkey salty about the shifting fashions. She makes awesome videos about historical fashion.

Because of a recent post, I thought I would mention (and link) three wonderful Musical Theater Youtubers who have fantastic and diverse content pertaining to the world of musical theater

Wait in the Wings- They have wonderful content when it comes to the history of obscure musicals. While they do talk about newish musicals, the way they present them is fantastic. Everything is well researched. They respect the process from thought to stage. They look at the financial aspect. They look at their historical impact on culture as a whole Just everything is fascinating about this channel.

Katherine Steele- I discovered her content when researching for Cats 2019 and discovered her through her review. (Which is fantastic) Her content ranges from Broadway news, randomness, reactions, personal experiences as an actress, her struggle through Covid as an actress, dream casts, and more. She is very positive and always ends her videos about proshots/adaptations with something along the lines of accessibility to the arts and musical theater. She is funny, positive, but also realistic. Please check out her content!

Amy Lovatt - I love her content so much. She’s from the UK so her musical theater news and acting experience is based on over there. Her content is wonderful and real. Real being she adlibs a lot in her videos. Much if her content includes reactions, theater kid things, reviews (I suggest watching her Cats 2019 review too), and reactions to TV musical episodes. She is bubbly, hilarious, and an all around great person to watch.

Again, I would highly suggest checking these channels out since they are where I get much of my own musical theater content on YouTube. Especially when it comes to this time of Covid, their content has kept me sane and want more musical theater in my life. Please go check out their content. They are amazing!

Theatre-Related Videos to Watch During Quarantine:

Samantha Pauly (Katherine Howard in Six on Broadway) posts a video of her singing a song from a production almost every day on her YouTube channel. Examples include Ex-Wives, Six, Dead Girl Walking, and Dead Mom

Andrea Macasaet (Anne Boleyn in Six on Broadway) posts a segment called “Karaoke and Chill” on her YouTube channel once a week (she’s done a Hamilton one, a Heathers one, and of course, a Six one)

Go watch the international collaboration of all the Six Queens (Australia Cast, West End, UK Tour, Bliss 1.0 and 2.0, Breakaway, and Broadway) plus some of the Queendom singing Ex-Wives and Six!

Watch some theatre tik-tok compilations (yes I just went there)!

Every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:00 EST, Andrew Barth Feldman (2018 Jimmy Awards Winner who replaced Taylor Trensch as Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway) and Alex Boniello (who played Connor Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway) host a segment called Broadway Jackbox where they hang out with fellow actors and play games to raise money for the Actors Fund, which you can view on tiltify.com or on Andrew’s YouTube channel (he posts it the following Sunday/Monday)

At 2pm and 8pm EST every day, Seth Rudetsky and his husband James Wesley host a Stars in the House stream where they interview actors and raise money for the Actors Fund

Every day at around 5:00pm EST, Broadway.com’s YouTube channel posts Live At Five at Home where they interview actors from home

Theatermania’s YouTube channel is posting live interviews at 2:00pm EST with actors, as well as a trivia segment at around 7:00pm EST every Thursday (there might be more than one day, I don’t really know)

Go watch Katherine Steele! She posts a theatre related video every Thursday ranging from theatre controversies to cast recording recommendations. While you’re at it, go watch her vlog channel, Party at Kats! She posts vlogs there, and you can go rewatch her vlogs when she went to New York last year and the year before to help quench your thirst for Broadway

Listen to new cast recordings! Personally, I’ve listened to 27 new ones and I’ll be posting reviews of those shortly. I recommend The Mad Ones or Bare: A Pop-Opera (but there are tons of more recommendations, also coming soon)

Work on possible audition songs!

Arrange covers of music and sing them and create your own harmonies (I’m currently arranging a mashup, and you can use flat.io or musescore to create digital sheet music)
