Cosmic Dynamics
Human. Male. Pilot no longer I remember you I welcome you , To my realm, To the deep Here you will...
"…drown."
An elf emerged from the tetancle growths at the temple's base. Her lure faintly illuminating the surroundings. Like an armour, Kathool's tentacles encompassed much of her body, culminating in a writhing staff held| bound to |in her hands
"I mourn for you, oh apostates of the surface. Had you accepted my Master's blessings, you might have been spared."
--------------------–----------------------------------
Her defenses open, Macbeth's strike landed true. She fell, defeated. The tentacles of rapidly dissolving into foam. "Ha," Caran barked with laughter, "drown you said? We're death knights, we do not drown. We rise!" "As spoken by the Great Yogi. You have read the scriptures." "Shut up. They never said that."
As the sisters argued, Aquella knelt by the dying elf. "His voice. All is quiet. Master where are you? Master…" Aquella took her by the hand. "Be at peace. You're free now. Kathool can no longer hurt you. Please, sleep." "Free? I'm free? I, I... thank you." And then she was gone. Aquella offered her a small prayer to Lady Nesso before rejoining the party, who were currently debating their next move.
The Water Orb saga in Book 1 is one quest chain that I really hope ends up being Reimagined, because currently the story feels really short and abrupt, and the setting feels kind of empty. Which is a shame because I really enjoy the story and the lore we get about Kathool, the water elves, Captain Davy and Aquella.
I would love to have additional quests in the Locker that flesh out Diawe and Caran (because it felt like those two were just randomly standing in the inn and didn’t play a role in the story until the very end), and better develop Aquella and her relationship with the Hero so that it doesn’t feel so abrupt when Aquella starts trusting and liking them.
I would also love to see the underwater setting expanded, with the water elves’ city being added as a place we can visit, maybe after the Hero investigates the city and finds out the truth about what happened to the water elves. And I’d also love to see the water elves back in their city again after Kathool’s defeat and be able to interact with them. I’m so intrigued by the water elves and it’s a shame that we don’t see much of them outside of the water orb saga.
