Tonight Ibis went to work in a swankier bar downtown. After years of telling him to get out of the bar, Katra was proud to now support her son having a real job.
“Here mom, on the house.”
Ibis kept retelling what happened in Bridgeport and how he used the Chronos box to stop time and run all the way here to St Erast. His father was a mix of uneasiness still over his son being a killer, and impressed that he ran all the way here. His mother however was only in awe. She asked to examine the Chronos box so he was now digging into his pockets for it. Instead he fished out the Crimson Eye.
“Well, I guess I should give this back.” He said as he handed the ring to his mom.
She blinked in surprise before putting it back on. “Did she know she was wearing the real one all along?”
“I don’t know. It doesn’t matter, right?”
“What happened?”
“She broke up with me.”
“Because of Lori?”
“No… I mean she seemed to know already…”
“And you didn’t tell her?” She shook her head in disappointment.
Lori is already good friends with her grandpa! Makes sense, he's Friendly and kept picking her up all night.

The snow may have melted, but it was still February. This still didn’t deter multiple people, including humans, from going outside and playing with the sprinkler. Some of them didn’t mind just going inside still wearing their swimsuits. Others changed into whatever clothes they found there at the house.
The family gathered at one point to…eat. The vampires were used to eating as a courtesy, for the sake of either their partner or their children. There were obviously options that were more palatable for their tastebuds.
After eating himself, Ibis got Lori and sat down to feed her. He had to turn down offers from essentially all of the grandparents to do it for him.
Lori was indeed being spoiled by grandpa Ulene who had sat with her on the couch in the master room. Next to them was grandma Katra holding a questionable piece of pie. Taia came in and made small talk while Ibis got his daughter back from his dad.
