Happy anniversary, Kubo and the Two Strings! (August 19th, 2016)
Day 3: Favorite song from the soundtrack! Absolutely love this one. Always have been fond of Regina Spektor and the Beatles and the grandpa who I used this movie to help me push through was one of the Beatles greatest fans. As well as that, this film seriously fits the song and all the Easter eggs in this song are so great! I listen to it on repeat 24/7 and also it’s a go to song for long bus rides from school to home or even in the car as well. I would have said either Monkey’s Story or Meet the Sisters but I’m overly cliche and love this song to bits as well as those two

DAY 1: Favourite character
Decided to go for a manga-ish look here. I’ve been wanting to try drawing hair like this for a while now. I really like it.
(Also, have two versions because I don’t know which one I like more).
Day 1: Favorite character Sariatu
Sariatu is my favorite character and I even made a cosplay of her for the Phoenix Comic-con and I met someone dressed as Karasu. Also, I know she doesn’t have a weapon that is because weapons got banned from the comic con. Anyway, here are some fun facts to make this Sariatu cosplay: I had about 70 yards of fabric, it took me one week to make this, my old sewing machine that I learned to sew on broke and my mom had to buy a brand new one just so I could finish the cosplay in time for the comic Con, I actually considered dying my hair black and wearing extensions.
Kubo Appreciation Week 2017 Day 4: Favorite Quote
Day 6: Favorite scene OHOHOHO OHOHOHOHOHOOOOOOO IF IT ISNT ANY CLEARER THAN THIS THEN I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY definitely the scene where we meet the sisters!!! The amount of goosebumps I had in the theater already was high cause it was super cold...but like...when the lanterns blew out I got goosebumps on my goosebumps!! That never happens. And the fact that Kubo was terrified as the sisters were being them sinister selves made it even better because we got some incredibly detailed expressions and a really detailed set of armors and masks. As well as that, the dialogue was phenomenal, you really get the gist of what they were trying to show: soulless beings, no even better, soulless assassins coming down on the earth to retrieve Kubo's eye. They are blind as they have "no eyes" and they don't even touch the earth! They just float! Metaphorically and physically blind! Mind blown!!! I am a complete sucker for the sisters, in case you haven't noticed it so that's why there's so many pictures and gifs. There's even more on my camera roll but I don't want to be a burden haha. So yes, the scene where we meet the sisters is my all time favorite scene!
Day 5: Favorite Parallel I don't even know if this counts as one, but it has to be the "if you must blink, do it now" one. In the beginning of his story, Kubo is nowhere near as damaged and broken and he says it every day. The impact isn't nearly as deep as what it would have been when he says it the final time. You can see the pain in his eye, the fact that he lost his parents still shows but he chooses at that moment to accept it for real. The pain I felt in this moment was a heart wrenching one where I just wanted to hold onto him and tell him that it would all be okay. This moment made me mumble in the theater "my son" and made me even more attached. But the fact that in the beginning of the movie where it seems so little and unimportant makes it a beacon in the end of the movie, with all new emotion and levels of reading his pain and grief only to be welcomed by a large crowd of people and love flowing all around him. (It took me like 85 years to find these gifs I'm sorry)
