This week's prompt seriously had me struggling and wheezing at the same time 🤓 lol.
Do you ever have those moments where you’re like, “I love this part of my work!” or “I wish I’d done this differently”?
For me, this week’s theme “Mundane” ended up touching on a heavier subject, so figuring out what the characters would think and how they’d say things was… a lot! Turns out, writing something that’s not just fluff is hard!! 😂
My idea that Barbara would want to do her best for someone comes from both her role as a doctor and her portrayal in the show. She’s got that mix of patience and calm resolve—someone who won’t give up on anyone. Maybe I'm overthinking it a bit? 🥴 I just kept thinking, "She wouldn't take reckless risks for Jim, but she might for Walter."
As for the fic’s theme art—yeah, the text says “Dinner was done” but the picture? Bright blue sky. Time continuity? Never heard of her 🤣
And of course—my favorite part: Walter kissing Barbara’s hand. I have to make him do it every time. Yes. It’s one of my kinks. Hand kisses. Absolute weakness. I will go feral every time!!!!
As for the ending—pretty sure it’ll be happy, but not necessarily in the “they get exactly what they want” way… still not 100% sure 😭 I just want these two to be ridiculously happy together, that’s all!!!!
