This took me forever, but here it is! Long post warning, haha.💚
1. Who are your favorite character(s)? 🎉
I can’t pick just one—definitely Strickler and Toby (TC)!
Especially TC—I love him so much I’d totally want to live with him.lol His positivity honestly healed me so many times. 💛
2. Who has the coolest troll design? 🪨
DRAAAAL!! 🙌🔥 love Strickler too, of course, but Draal’s horn shape and his eye color are just so cool!!! He’s got such an awesome design!
3. Do you have a favorite ship pairing? What do you like about them together?
Definitely Strickler ✖️ Barbara! I absolutely love that they’re canonically engaged 💕
I believe Strickler was saved from his deep loneliness through Barbara. By gaining her trust, he was able to reclaim his pride and find peace in a world that had always rejected him.
Before meeting Barbara, he must have felt constantly isolated—working under Gunmar, unable to truly trust his subordinates, always aware that Blinky might turn on him, and living among trolls who looked down on changelings as lesser beings. As a leader among them, he carried the burden alone and had to stay vigilant at all times.
Then Barbara appeared in his life. At first, he approached her as part of his plan to get to Jim, but over time, he discovered the quiet, gentle moments with her—moments filled with trust, peace, and warmth. For Strickler, who had only known a harsh existence, that must have felt like a well-deserved reward, a healing he never thought possible.
Barbara, on the other hand, had been deeply hurt by Jim’s father leaving when Jim was still young. She raised him alone, likely while going through medical school and working hard to build a stable life. I imagine there were times when she faced loneliness and doubt. So when Strickler—who once left—returned to her, I think it helped heal those old wounds and allowed her to trust again.
…Okay, I know this is all my own headcanon, but still! 😂
In the end, what I love most about them is how they complement and heal each other. They give each other exactly what the other was missing. 💖
4. Are there any AUs of the series you particularly enjoy? 🔮
I love the Fairy Realm AU written by Pinky!(@pinkytoothlesso11) It’s such a beautiful concept and I adore the worldbuilding! ✨🧚♀️
5. Any headcanons or unofficial lore you’ve adopted about the show? 💭
I once wrote a Stricklake fanfic with the headcanon that Strickler doesn’t have any... uh, anatomy down there 😅 —
but honestly, it wasn’t that fun to work with in the story, so I don’t think I’ll be adopting that one again.lol
6. Who deserved more screentime/character development than they got? 💔
Definitely Draal! I really wish we could’ve seen him build deeper relationships with the Trollhunters.
I wanted more moments of him being happy—like when he was playing board games with AAARRRGGHH!!! and Blinky. He deserved more peaceful, joyful scenes… 😭💙
7. Most overrated character? 🤨
Oh, of course(?)… Senor Uh!!! 😂😂😂
Seriously though, how did he even become the principal!? 🤔
8. What was the most interesting story arc/part of the series to you?📝
“Bad Coffee” is my favorite episode! ☕️
When Strickler finally confessed the real reason he came back to town, I was so moved (and, honestly, a little obsessed 😭💘).
Jim’s reaction—his surprise and heartbreak—made it such a powerful moment.
Also, the scene where Coach hugs Steve?? Absolutely priceless!! His awkward, embarrassed face made me laugh even during such an emotional moment 😂❤️
9. 9.Did Jim really need to transform with the potion to defeat Gunmar? Let’s discuss. 🛁
That’s a tough one! Honestly, I kind of feel like if the Trollhunters had worked together, they might’ve been able to handle it without the transformation, haha.
But Jim’s determination was incredible, and I absolutely respect that. I just didn’t like how pushy Merlin was about it! I totally understand why Barbara would want to whack him with a broom 😂
I just want Jim to be happy and smiling, always.
10. What was the funniest episode or joke/bit in the show to you? 🃏
There were so many funny moments, I wish I’d written them down! 😂
The scene where Jim spits into Strickler’s mouth when time is frozen — so gross but hilarious!
When they’re deciding the Dance King, and Strickler walks up to tease Jim while his hand’s on Señor Uhl’s white car — so petty, I couldn’t stop laughing! That’s not how a grown man should act! 😂
Before the final battle, when the Trollhunters are gathered around the table planning, and AAARRRGGHH!!! is just in the back picking stuff up and eating it — so him. I cracked up, he’s just too cute!
11. What is your favorite of the sequel series? (3below, wizards, rott) 👽🧙
That’s another tough choice, but I’d say 3Below!
The moment Varvatos falls in love with Toby’s Nana had me crying with laughter 🤣
And watching the prince and princess grow as characters was so moving — it really got me in the feels!
