Well, today is world diabetes day. As if Sickle Cell wasn’t enough, I was diagnosed back in August with type 2 diabetes. “Grizz where ya been, haven’t seen you in a minute.” I’ve been home trying to figure this out. It’s a huge life change and it’s instant. It’s a lot to process because not only is Sickle Cell and Diabetes a lot to handle on their own but together, they trigger each other in the worst ways. So my life over the past few months has been a balancing act and a major learning curve. It’s taken a toll on my body and my mental health. I wasn’t gonna do this but I know for a fact someone out there is struggling with something, be it a health issue, or just life beating you down. You need to hear this. Don’t give up! Keep fighting! Yeah it’s hella hard but you’re strong, you can get through the bs. Also a reminder, when people fall back or you haven’t heard from them in a while or whatever, check on em. You never know what someone is going through. No matter how strong you know them to be, reach out. Let them know they’re not alone. I’m so blessed to have an amazing woman, family and friends around me, supporting me and holding me up when I can no longer find the strength to keep standing. I’d be dead without my support system. I love you all so much. We all have our struggles.
