Than was really popular here, it was one of the many reasons why he hated coming to this realm so much. These people were so needy. The cats were good company at least. He lingered in the OR gallery and looked down at the flatlining patient, sometimes he came to witness someone come to the end of their rope - to watch firsthand as Atropos cut their string. Keket was one of those annoying people who’d been denied death, she would still die again, of course, all Perses had done was postpone the inevitable. Trivia, no, they were Trivia now. Perses was dead. “Kudos,” Thanatos commented after he manifested next to her, “you tried.” These dirt descendants were so sloppy looking, the aspect looked disgusted at the workings of bowel and viscera laid out on the table.

          “H...Hey, Clara,” he boasts a broad smile, it hides how fragmented he currently is inside, another day that Emma has vanished without a trace. Inquietude consumes him and he’s fearful to approach Clara, it’s his last hope and he’s been running on fumes as of late, bowing his head almost shamefully. Gabriel doesn’t wish to ask her for favors, her entire life and legacy had been all about sacrificing snippets of herself, running when people would inevitable prove their betrayal. No matter, he liked to believe they’d developed some sense of friendship since he encouraged her into Canal Cakes and provoked mindless chatter over her coffee, scratching the back of his head, “I’m glad to see you’re okay.” It was this innate reminder that what Theneras had done could not even take her out, Gabriel always able to sense this subtle ancient note in her blood. “Well, on the outside.” A sad smile comes forth and he’s twisting his hands, an obvious tick that leads to his inevitable query. “How are you doing, really?” He diverts to her wellbeing, isn’t even sure how involved the original halfblood is in matters that concern her kind any longer.

Iris, Tabaxi from the House of Khepri

Iris of the House of Khepri joined the House of Baast at the age of 6. She quickly became close friends with Mitzi there, and the two of them would scramble off after their studies to spar in the woods or run off into the streets of the city to see what they could get into.

At one point, they rescued a goblin from the slave trades at the port. They learned that this goblin had dreams of becoming an alchemist, so they helped him learn to read and write in common, and in exchange they were able to make a lot of good connections in the undergrounds of their city. As Iris grew older, she began to feel the pressure from her mother to carry her own weight for the family and join "the family business". This was not something Iris wanted. She decided to come up with an escape plan: she would wake Mitzi and the two of them would run away together... though their plan did not go accordingly. On their way out they were stopped my Iris's mother, Keket, who demanded that Iris and Mitzi return to their house and continue to play the roles they were raised for to maintain order in the house and avoid further embarrassing both families.

When neither girl would go without a fight, Keket took them out by force, nearly killing Mitzi in the process to get Iris back. Mitzi was found by her sister Mirage who had been keeping an eye on the girls for a while... When Mirage saw the condition Mitzi was in she immediately dragged her to the underground where Basil was for medical help. Mitzi woke up with limited memory of how she got there, but Basil warned her that going back to the House of Baast would be impossible in her current state as Keket had positioned Mitzi as a traitorous villain that had tried kidnapping her innocent daughter...

And at the start of the campaign, this is basically all that Mitzi knows. Her goal is to grow stronger so she can go back and face Keket and rescue Iris, but after meeting up with her sisters Mirage and Ri a few years later she learns that they don't even know much about what happened to Iris after because they both made their leave from The House of Baast establishment as well...

Who else get's so deeply invested in the characters in their backstory even if they aren't currently in the main campaign yet?? TT_TT I love Iris.
