That post you shared made me think, I think a lot of people forgot how much anime/manga was hated online, between the late 90s and early 2000s like artist on deviantart called it a hype , inferior to American cartoons and comic books , said it lacked diverse body type, sexist, too easy to draw, all the same , ect and yes lowkey racism too
Yeah, it's kinda hard to believe since anime/manga is pretty mainstream and wildly popular in the West nowadays, but the medium really was looked down upon by a lot of people until fairly recently. The entire medium was often boiled down to jokes about tentacle hentai or whatever. And you're right, there was this weird elitism fans of Western cartoons and comics had about anime and manga (even though those mediums were and still are often lumped together by "normies").
I know your this is several years too late but just wanted to say I love your take and designs on other Utena characters if they were in Adolescence, especially Nanami
Aaah, thank you so much!!! I'm glad you like my Adolescence with the whole cast thing! Adding Nanami was especially crucial after the treatment she got in the movie and I definitely had a blast exploring the possibilities. I'm still very fond of the idea of her as the student council president, suddenly realizing the new student is the reason Touga died and the shared grief she and Saionji have after losing him all those years back...
I'm pretty sure I still have some unfinished WIPs from 2018 and now I'm just tempted to check them out again :'D

Not sure how unpopular this is but I just can't see Utena as bi. There's just no way in my head that her attraction to Akio and Touya can be read as genuine, when what draws her to both of them is the illusion of the "prince". I have nothing against people who hc her as bi but I just can't see it as anything other than the worst case of comphet ever.
Did the main four grew up together in Greenridge?
Melody was born and raised in Greenridge. Allison moved there in elementary school (and befriended Melody pretty much right away), so she hasn't lived there her whole life but she'd still consider Greenridge her hometown. Claire and Jodie, on the other hand, are from the big city, both having been friends since high school. They moved to Greenridge as adults a few years before the start of the game. (Said city has a name, but I... don't think I've shared it before? I guess I'll save that for the game. Not that you go there or anything.)
There's a lot more I could get into, but all of this is explored further throughout the story
