Tara haunting the Narrative in Kendare Blake's "In Every Generation" series:

He [Oz] stopped to consider whether he had the right to say what he was going to say. But he had more than a right; he had an obligation. "I have to think that if Tara was here, she would be saying the same thing."

"Absolutely! This is a very basic spell. It was one of the first ones I ever did with Tara. I'm just worried about the freshness of this conjuring powder."

"Oh, the crystals." Willow reached into the bag and set them on the rug: four small jagged crystals in shades ranging from white to pale lavender. When she set the last one, a softness came into her eyes, like she was remembering that first spell "Are you thinking of Tara?" Frankie asked. "Do you miss her?" Willow smiled, lips closed. "Always."

Frankie smiled at her gently. Every relationship her mom had was shadowed by the memory of Tara.
