So much to absorb from that finale.

First off, how much was hallucination and how much was real is so blurred that if there is a special episode (like I thought I saw Pond or someone mention one) they could easily do anything. Seriously, if they wanted to they could retcon, change or shift almost every 'fact' from the episode.

So that means everything can be taken with a pinch of salt. And, while I figured some questions would be unanswered, some surprised me and I've been thinking on that-

*That we never got an answer about Keng's investigation and identity. But the more I think about this, the more I wonder if that's the point. It's like real life in that they never get all the answers and how could that have been found out by some angry teen/early twenty somethings with hallucinogens in the woods?

* That the ninth person wasn't revealed. Surely there had to be one because Tan seemed to see a dark hooded figure as it moved through the house at one point? I suppose if everyone was tripping balls in ep 12 (New/Tan may have trusted that gas mask he'd rigged up but I kinda doubt it was as effective as he presumed) maybe no one was aware of the ninth person so the audience wasn't shown but eh. I am mostly ??

*Linked with above thought. Like many, I wanna know who was groping Tee in episode one. I highly doubt it was Tan and they seem to show it wasn't a hallucination.

*Non's death in ep11 felt like an afterthought. To the point that part of me was sure it was a fake out. Part of me still hopes that as I'd have loved to watch it and like I said who knows with the special episode, but the other half is thinking that maybe an unceremonious death off-screen fits thematically. Non had fallen so far, he becomes just another casualty of organised crime. Another statistic.

* Unlike some, I had a feeling White was going to be the innocent/bystander victim to highlight how far New had come from simply wanting to know the truth. It would have been nice to know more about him (like with the hallucinations, why his anxieties where largely about being accused of cheating, disfigurement from STDs and sex=filthy) but not knowing does add to the just a bystander. Just another casualty just like Non.

If nothing else, the variables give material both for this potential special episode and for fanfiction etc to play with.

Is keng a predator or does he genuinely like non in a 'age is just a number' way?

Warning: mention of rape

I'm saying this in asian context (idk if this exists in the west too)- predator is somebody who takes advantage of children. They can r*pe multiple children or one but they don't have any feelings for the child and will in many cases ab*se the child in other aspect too.

There is also an 'age is just a number' kind of thing here. "I love that person regardless of our vast age difference, regardless of the fact that the person is a child." They feel their love is genuine and they are NOT considered predators because they do not ab*su the child.

Unfortunately still to this day the second factor is not considered as severe as the first one. Since non was an 11th grader he's probably 16-17 so people won't take it seriously even more. And even keng won't see it as a big issue since non is almost an adult. He doesn't consider non a child. Like i said they only consider the age difference.

On which context do they fall matters even to other extent because to jin and everybody it seems it falls on the second one. Jin records the video because he feels betrayed. If he saw it in a predatory lense he wouldn't have recorded it. On top of that non seems to be enjoying in the video. It doesn't look like keng is forcing him or anything which pushes the matter more into the second one. In cases like this people are more disgusted that a sex video has leaked rather than a child is being taken advantage of.

The situations are the worst for non.

They go missing. And instead of the police worrying about non getting kidnapped they say it as 'they ran away together'.

It's so true!!! I think 2J in particularly looks insanely different but maybe it's just because I'm more familiar with Us ahahaha but both of them look so different. They're like chameleons.

I’m very curious if there’s any specific meaning to Keng appearing as a ghost/hallucination before Jin. Jin knows Keng has disappeared and there’s emotional conflict with the video, but I’m curious if there’s anything deeper than that.

THIS question has been bugging me since we watched episode 9. Why is it Keng? Because logically speaking, you'd think that Jin would be seeing Non, not Keng. We know that the drug brings out people's fears... so why is Jin seeing Keng? And why is he seeing Keng like that? Bloody and bruised like that?

I have a few theories, but they're all just abstract ideas with no evidence... let me try and articulate them:

Jin was groomed by Keng previously. Jin has a lot of the same characteristics as Non, in that he gets attached easily and is romantic and somewhat desperate for attention. I wonder if maybe Keng had preyed on him, or at least had started to groom him before Jin saw Keng with Non.

Jin feels guilty about ruining Keng's life along with Non's when he took the video. Tho I don't think this makes sense because I don't know why he'd be hallucinating JUST Keng and not Keng and Non, or just Non.

Jin knows that Non is alive (he's very adamant about it in the present) because he's seen him or been in contact with him somehow. But he hasn't seen Keng. So his fear isn't of Keng, it's that Keng is dead.

Jin knows Keng is dead, somehow.

Again, no evidence for these, they're all purely speculation that I've been mulling over for the last day or so. I do feel like there's more to Jin's story, but I might be wrong. I just feel like there's still so much we don't know about him. We know he comes from money (lives in a big nice house) and his parents don't appear to be around much (they fucked with the door open and no one noticed that Jin had a boy over all night). I just wonder... if there's some stuff that happened with Jin in that 2 year gap, and that we'll learn about it in upcoming episodes.

Hallucination or Real?

I'm going to catalog every instance of something weird being seen/heard/experienced and try to figure out if it was a hallucination or really happening.

Do we know what everybody’s majors are? I think they mentioned in the show itself that Jin is some sort of communication arts, White is computer science, Fluke is medicine, and Phee is directing (which is interesting, since that was most likely going to be Non’s major - wonder if he chose it because of that?).

I’ve seen some translated posts that Tan’s major is biochemistry, but haven’t been able to find a one stop shop of all the character profiles.
