Anime name: Good Morning Call (2001 OVA)

Lauren’s Like Rating: 1/10 (This OVA seems to be intended for people already familiar with the manga, as it centers on one small event somewhere in the middle of the story and gives very little context about the characters. I found it boring at best and downright annoying at worst, in particular when the female characters were acting like obnoxious fangirls. Maybe I would have liked it had I read the manga, but I think I’ll be skipping it.)
Character (s): Asai Kenji, Haruhi
Asai Kenji is a friendly guy who works at a salon and participates in hair and make-up contests. He asks Nao to be his cut model, but she declines as it makes Hisashi jealous. He misses his girlfriend, and is sad that she lives far away in Kyoto and vows to quit his job after the next contest to go be with her.
Haruhi is Asai’s girlfriend who had been living in Kyoto. She looks like a small child but has the voice of a mature woman. She has a lot in common with Nao in both having similar hair and behavior. When her parents decide to try to force her into an arranged marriage she runs away from home to be with Asai.
