He started like all the rest of the kids his age, young naive, open and molded by the world around him.
He learned that being loud and mischievous was no way to act and that falling in line and listening to rules served better things. Granted it took time like all young kids to understand that it was in his best interest to do such things. But like all kids it didn’t take too long for him to learn when an example was given.
He toned down his smile and lowered his voice when he spoke, he bowed when told and saluted back at passing troops. He felt confident in what his home stood for and more so in what he was told about his city. He cheered on troops during parades, he felt really honored when he met a Sith Lord for the first time, he bought into their posters their stories and their pride.
He was determined to be like them, great and powerful all while protecting the things he knew from the Empires enemies. But a thought crossed his mind, if he was to be like his father, an engineer who settled for working on speeders, how would be become great like them?
His father said that he could become great by building and fixing things to help others. For a moment Kennith bought it, but upon watching his father after school he settled that it was not a good idea. He didn’t ask his mother, for mother was already busy enough with her work and the words ‘ladies always make the best doctors’ was something his older sisters dreaded to hear.
Thus that left him to seek wisdom from the older kids who seemed to know more than his father. His first approach was laughed at, but his second got their attention. It wasn’t until his fourth approach that they invited him and his friends to follow them.
The experience was just as exciting as it was frightening. Exciting on how the older kids went from being ‘normal’ kids to suddenly having respect and power to do as they wanted. And frightening as to how they were treated like adults, weapon holding order following kids just older than them by a few years.
At first Kennith and the others were put off by the idea of having so much freedom, but with a few words from the adults of the group they wore their pins proudly in public.
By the time he realized what had happened, it was already too late.
His acceptance to the best Academies was all thanks to his work, he stepped forward when others didn’t, he didn’t question his orders and had no qualm about hurting those that didn’t belong. His Captain rank within the group bought him plenty of benefits, including the ease he had entering the Academy for Intelligence.
He scuffed at the officers who noticed his pin, those who warned him that he would need to change. They warned him and yet he didn’t take it serious, he brushed them off and allowed his pride and old rules to take over his head.
He nearly ended up dead.
A fight turn wrong left him broken, the bounty hunter ruined his pride, and worst of all he felt attachment to him an alien who he should of killed. He should of killed him when he had the chance, but driving the knife into his back, stars that was just hard and eventually he made himself stop and think. The alien, the bounty hunter who came from some far side of the galaxy away from what Kennith deemed proper was a better person than him.
It gnawed at Kennith for days, it annoyed him to no end and for a while he took pleasure in the fact that the alien was weak in ‘simple’ subjects. Up until he learned that he too was on the verge of being cut from the program.
Faced with a new threat he swallowed his pride and confronted the alien. They could help each other, he stated, Kennith helping him with the ‘simple’ subjects and the other helping him with harder things. At first he expected laughter or some cruel comment to be tossed his way but the other took the deal to heart, and soon Kennith learned his proper name.
Goa knew weapons, survival, planetary geography and star ship flying, yet he struggled with reports, dancing and smooth words. Kennith could talk his way out of danger and make himself blend in with any group he was in but had no idea how to fend for himself when alone and out of his element, survival in the elements with enemies was what nearly got him killed in the first place.
The first few sessions was grueling for Kennith and perhaps for Goa, though the other never really voiced his annoyance when Kennith failed to follow through with movements. With time though things got slowly better, less stomped foots and rough words, movements became smoother and things started to line up.
Eventually they graduated and went on to study in their own fields. And with time they lost contact, but Kennith made sure not to forget that lesson.
His comrades were glad to have him back, they were going to promote him. Yet they knew not of the small place in Kennith’s heart that was saved for an ‘outsider’. They tried to push for him to become greater to lead them into success but he turned it down.
Goa was an outsider, to them. Even worse an alien. But he had managed to turn their Captain against their ideas. They couldn’t know, even if he figured their chances of meeting again was slim. But at the same time he couldn’t follow through with his old ways.
He had learned too much, things weren’t black and white any more. The old Cathar who served his time in the military was just as important and useful as the old human. the ‘outsider’ was just someone trying to get through his own life without any issues.
He left without a word one day. Of course they came to him wondering what was wrong. But he refused them, and for a time it worked.
And then Goa reappeared, he wasn’t sure where he had gone but the other seemed to be doing well for himself. Kennith couldn’t help but ‘bump’ into him for a warm greeting as he felt that little space in his heart grow. A small smile was enough to get him to swoon though of course it was hard to remember just how it looked after a few drinks.
What Kennith didn’t know was that there were eyes on him, young eyes that belonged to members he didn’t know, members who were still loyal and who knew where to get information from. The threats and harassment he could ignore, when they started to threaten to go after his family he pulled his rifle and threaten them right back making sure that they understood that crossing him would be a mistake.
The message was clear and heard and for a time he was left alone. Life carried on and he was able to go his job and spend his time watching from afar his crush.
Of course they got back at him, they must of thought of him as dumb to think that he wouldn’t question a speeder crashing into his apartment. It wasn’t hard, a driverless speeder to have some how crashed into his apartment that was hidden from the books more or less at an angle that would of made it impossible. His saving grace was the fact that he had to leave his apartment and had missed what should of killed him.
Everything was now gone but Goa was back in town and well he was sure that the other wouldn’t mind him crashing on his sofa if he had food.
Memberships: Former member of Echo Brigade on Dromund Kaas
MBTI:ENFP
Sexuality: Bisexual
Relationship Status: In a relationship
Background:
Kennith comes from a middle class family, his mother used to be a doctor during her time in the military and his father an engineer. His father owns a number of taxi and speeder spots around Dromund Kaas which he was hoping for Kennith to take over after his mandatory military years.
He grew up with two older sisters who constantly invited him to tea parties that had a 'dresses only' rule. While they all got along pretty well he soon started to hang out with boys his age when he was recruited into the Echo Brigade at age seven. Kennith became one of the Brigades best informants and most vocal calling out both outsiders and his fellow citizens and having them dealt with.
This of course caused problems between Kennith and his family. He started to rebel against their wishes and instead of choosing to become an engineer for the army he put in for intelligence.
When Kennith was accepted for the Academy he had entered with both high scores and high hopes that he would leave an officer within Intelligence. Within a few days though he was broken and had a mental breakdown after he killed his first person. He was saved by Goa who happened to be passing by at the time. During the remainder of his time at the Academy Kennith not only helped Goa but was also helped by him in order for them to both graduate. Kennith also learned a bit more about himself during this time as well.
After graduation he was a young Agent for a time and was later promoted to Cipher with experience as a sniper. He has also quite the Echo Brigade much to their displeasure.
Personality:
Kennith is an active talkative person who often does his job better when he's able to talk people into giving him what he wants. Granted he can be quite gullible and has a number of credits wasted on useless items. He can be childish at times but he's capable of becoming as stern as his own father when pushed to the limit.
He's a friendly soul trapped in a job that has him kill for a living, he does have regrets about what he's doing and does have a great dislike for killing his targets. He also has regrets about his time with Echo Brigade and has been slowly changing his ways, granted he does slip up time to time.
His weakness is his family despite the rift between them and his partner. And he would do anything to keep them safe, even at the risk of his own life.
It’s a normal medium sized bedroom with a queen sized bed in the middle and a fairly large window out looking the cityscape. Aside from a few locked chests and scattered clothes from both Kennith and Goa, there is a night stand with a single lamp and alarm clock on it. Aside from that it’s rather dull.
3: Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often? Somewhat, Kennith isn’t a big fan on lifting weights, but he does enjoy going out for a jog a few times a week.
5: Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.) Personal: clean shaven, hair is gelled so it can hold some of his spikes without going all poofy on him. Workspace wise, he tends to clutter things about but it’s an organized clutter.
7: Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time Mostly by playing games or watching movies on his datapad. Feeling wise he’s on the fence about it. If he’s procrastinating then he’ll enjoy it but if he has to waste time because of someone else or something he gets anxious and uses his datapad to unwind.
9: Makeup? Nope, unless he’s being forced to dress in drag.
11: Intellectual pursuits? While he does read more that Goa, he prefers the study of music than anything else.
13: Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general? He’s not sure if he’s Bi or just Gay. But to him it really doesn’t matter, if someone comes to him during a mission for sex he’ll have sex with them. His thoughts on the subject though leave him shrugging his shoulders. He likes the idea of having a label but at the same time he dislikes it cause people tend to lump him in with certain stereotypes.
15: Biggest and smallest short term goal? Biggest, getting his boyfriend to feel comfortable with his original form around him. Smallest, to go to the next star tour concert without having to cancel due to work.
17: Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress Anything casual and nice looking. Ritual wise, he makes sure that he’s cleaned before dressing. He dislikes the feeling of being dirty and putting on clean clothes on.
19: What do they think about before falling asleep at night? Mostly the future regarding his family.
21: Turn-ons? Turn-offs? Turn on: bondage or being blindfolded. Turn off: animal play.
23: How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life? Mentally somewhat organized, physically it’s chaotic order. He has piles of stuff around the apartment and ship, but he knows where stuff is at.
25: How do they see themselves 5 years from today? Hopefully with his family and lover enjoying life without the threat of war hanging above them.
27: What is their biggest regret? Leaving for training without saying goodbye to his family and allowing his relationship with them to become as strained as it is.
29: Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?) Pause and look at whats going on before panicking. Expect lots of shouting and him darting around saving stuff from the flames.
31: Most prized possession? His necklace which he stole from home after graduation from the academy.
33: Concept of home and family? That family is all important and should be held close even if it tries to snap back at him. Home on the other hand is where you are loved and welcomed despite what happens in life.
35: What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time? Watching novellas on the holonetwork. He likes them but also gets so frustrated with how long it takes for the story to finish.
37: Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making? Emotional, Kennith will follow orders as directed but, he doesn’t carry them out without trying to think of a better way to execute them with less bloodshed.
39: Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither? Neither I think, he’s still thinking about that.
41: Hobbies? Music, dancing, having fun doing things such as hitting the town or hanging with friends.
43: Religion? He doesn’t really have one aside from whatever the Sith overlords claim for them to have.
45: Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds? Words mostly.
47: How do they express love? By buying things and constantly giving time and stuff to his love.
49: Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not? Yes, he knows that he’s made mistakes in the past and that there is so much that he still wants to do. He wants to rebuild the bridges that he’s burned when he was young with his family and at the same time he wants to stay with those he cares for and loves and continue to be himself.
Thanks to role playing I know know that Kennith back then did have the same out look as perhaps the elite or upper class citizens of Kaas City.
That is, humans were superior to aliens and that aliens were meant to be nothing more than cannon fodder or slaves. I wouldn't doubt that he also tried to speak like the upper class people for a while.
Thank the stars he broke mostly out of this during training.
Kennith couldn't believe his luck, after hours of sitting at home slicing data and tracking targets he managed to actually tag one of the harder to find ones while making a run to the store. Part of him was glad that he had brought his tracker with him just incase, and the other half was happy for the simple fact that there would be steaks for dinner.
All he had left to do was simply review the tracking data while cooking dinner and then make a report before heading to bed. Punching in the access code for his apartment and swiping his personal room card, the doors slid open welcoming him inside.
But not before a rush of heat, smoke and plasteel tidbits pushed him back against the wall and forced him to cover his face and vitals as the blast pumped enough smoke into the hallways and bits of plasteel embedded themselves in the wall next to him.
Building alarms went off and sprinklers went off over head quickly putting out the burning pieces of wall and belongings that were now flung about for all to see.
Having cold water land on him was enough to get Kennith to look up and into his now smoldering apartment. The inside of his home was now a combination of what looked like a luxury airspeeder all charred and broken and an unsalvageable apartment with a large hole in the side of it.
Kennith could only stand in his ruined apartment looking directly at the airspeeder who had apparently crashed into his home, as the building alarms were slowly turned off.
"I... I was going to have steak !" he shouted at the crashed remains as he walked over to it to see if the driver was even still alive. But as luck would have it,the driver had died at impact and now only a charred body remained with a number of glass bottles. With no one to question Kennith dug around his home for a pair of gloves, with no doubt the black box would of survived the crash and would be able to provide some answers.
But that also left a bit more problems. A wreaking crew would be here to remove the remains of the room so a new room could be built and sold out. Which would mean that all of his files, equipment and secretes were going to be free game and all of those hours spent working would have been for nothing. Not to mention he would most likely be exposed by the Republic agents he was suppose to be tracking.
Gritting his teeth and yanking the black box from the hot steal frame of the speeder Kennith looked around his room for a bag and started to throw what he could into it.
First up was anything that linked him with the Empire and to his mission. Official uniform, rifle parts, weapons, data longs and cryptic files were stuffed into his bag. Coming across a mini interrogation probe that he had stashed a while back he brought it online and ordered for it to guard the location until he returned.
With what was left of his apartment somewhat protected Kennith found himself with the next big problem.
Where to go.
Very few agents wanted another agent near them more or less were even free to help out.
Chewing his lip as he took the elevator down to the landing platform he tried to think. There were few agents who he was friends with, and most of them were away on business or were on other planets. But there was one who would be home around this time.
Kennith didn't agree to it, but he has a fake tooth filled with cyanide, the higher ups disliked his many captures by the Republic and found it questionable when he managed to return from them.
Mixurn lost most of his right leg when he was a kid and he stepped on a land mine. To make matters worse the Republic knowingly planted them in his families field and refused to pay for his medical bill.
Goa has accident killed a doctor, in his defense the doc. was about to cut him up for his organs so they could be sold on the black market.
Brocmil got his forehead implant after getting mixed into a scuffle between a bounty hunter and a target. He crafted the story to say that he was the one who killed the target.
To keep his Leku from getting hit with his lightsabers, Charon either ties them back or wraps them together. He did at one point tried to use weights to keep them from swinging about, but they caused too many headaches.
